I just made a ftf file for Xperia L C2105 Version 15.0.A.2.17 UK.
It is 100 % STOCK with no changes or anything.
It will run on c2104 but you will have to skip baseband.
You may skip UNKNOWN in flashtool as well!

I want the UK one for c1204
And changing it to the UK version, I'd still be able to use my Sim card right?
And is it safe? Cause I've partially rooted my phone

Quote me next time as it is easier for me to know someone asked for an answer!
Well, in theory it should work fine as the phone has everything same except the basebands. So in flashtool, untick baseband and flash. It would surely work. I have tested different basebands on Xperia U and P and they both worked fine as long as I unticked baseband in flashtool.
This is unlocked version and thus you can flash it without any sim restrictions. (Its sim free and not under any contract)
You would be unrooted after flashing this. It is safe!

I took this firmware out of my phone which is from the UK. UK uses different basebands from USA. You can not get a C2104 that will be supported by UK. However, you may flash UK firmware on your C2104 but you will need to skip baseband in FLASHTOOL
I extracted the ftf and checked the build.prop and for some reason the region is shown as US. I suppose it is better than my factory one which was from Ukraine.

Hi,
Please if anyone has the firmware FTF with this details, because need to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 4.4.4 since 5.1.1 has alot of issues (Camera Overheating..etc)
Device: Xperia Z3 (D6603)
Build number: 23.0.1.A.5.77
Android version: 4.4.4
Customization version: 1289-4144_R25B
Region: DE (Germany)
Branding: Telekom / T-Mobile
Also, if I use other Branding/region. for example UK instead of DE, my sim will still unlocked?
Thank you!
You can flash any D6603 ROM, your phone will stay unlocked.

That's mean I can downgrade my firmware to any D6603 ROM even my currant Customization version is: 1289-4144 (Customized DE). There is not issue with sim card if I use other firmware like .77 or .93 with different customization number 1288-5031 as any example. Right?
Thank you for your help.

That's what Robogo1982 means by any, yes.
For example my phone came with RU firmware. But I have flashed UK, German and Netherlands unbranded firmwares without a problem and SIM stays unlocked.
The only differences between them are the apps that come pre-installed

Thanks again!

Should be fine to downgrade straight but make sure to wipe data as it won't boot with Marshmallow data on the phone.
Flash tool has an option for this youll see it. Just tick where it says wipe: apps log and user data
Obviously bear in mind this wipes everything so back up everything before hand.
You can try without wiping data but this causes a boot loop for me.
Hit thanks if we helped. Button is right under our comments

My SIM stays unlocked and bootleoder will not changed from YES to NO. Right?
Will be able to upgrade again to LP, MM via Xperia Update or Pc Companion?

So:
Even if you flash branded firmware like T-Mobile it will stay unlocked and any sim will work. So this won't change anything there don't worry.
I mean you will lose all your apps and settings etc.
Not sure about photos so copy them across to your computer just in case. You can just make a backup with PC companion.
PC companion will detect updates based on which country firmware is on your phone. If you flash Russia you will get the updates for Russian version and when they are available to Russia.
If German then updates will be German and when Germany gets them etc
Makes sense?
So best is to flash your country version and then you get updates as they become available to your country,
but you can use any country version you want and get updates when that country gets them.

Is it possible to flash my Z5 premium E6853 over to the Japanese z5 premium S0-03H docomo firmware? I will be moving back to Japan soon. I tried downloading the firmware with xperifirm and flashing it with flashtool but I ended up failing and bricking my phone and having to flash back to my original firmware.
I forgot to check all the boxes in wipe. Would that cause it to fail? Is the SO-03H firmware even compatible with the E6853? Appreciate any help in advance.

Have the same issue, it seems not.
It is possible from Docomo/etc.. variant Z5 phones to use Global one but not the reverse.
I also tried to convert a ftf to flashable zip, but I always get "failed to map file" in TWRP.

Yeah it's very odd. Seems to be the same hardware but for some reason only works one way and not the other. Possibly some part of the firmware could be modified to work on the global version but that's beyond me.
You plan to get a domoco subscription or roaming your current one ?
It should work anyway (at least phone calls and internet)

Subscription. I never roam even when travelling. Here in Taiwan, all phones are sold unlocked with removable sim cards. So I usually apply for a temporary sim card or WiFi rental box when I go abroad. Since I'll be living in Japan and going with Docomo, I thought I'd flash over to the Docomo firmware to avoid any issues. I guess it's not that necessary.
I am getting my Sony "U.S" Version just because of its warranty, is there a way i can Enable the fingerprint. Please help
currently all you could do is flash the International firmware. I haven't really looked into anything though personally. I'm not sure how they disabled it, maybe changing a 0 to 1 somewhere but I doubt it.
Yes I got the US version from Amazon and just flashed the CE1 firmware and fingerprint works after flashing that firmware

It doesn't have US warranty, probably you have to send it back to UK. Personally I don't care about warranties, never had to use for any of my many phones until now partly because don't keep the phone that long. The other advantage buying from Amazon US is ease of return in case you don't like the phone. If you played with it before and 100% sure you like the phone and will definitely keeping it, then yeah better to buy from clove and save the extra $150 or change.

I used the newflasher tool in the below link. Personally this is my first Xperia device in a long time and haven't used the Xperia flashing tools before.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3619426
1. Make sure you have the right drivers installed. I installed Xperia companion tool since someone mentioned that should install all the drivers. I also installed the flash tool and fastboot drivers from Xperia flash tool since I had issues putting my phone in flash mode. If you are using Windows 10 you have disable verify driver signing in boot before installing the flash tool drivers.
2. Download the firmware of your choice, I chose CE1 (Central Europe) firmware over other Asian firmware.
3. Then follow the instructions in the thread to flash.
Main issue I had was putting my phone in flash mode. But apparently flash mode doesn't have any screen like recovery etc. You just have to turn off your phone then while holding the volume button down connect your phone via USB. That should put in flash mode even though you don't get any screen to say it's in flash mode.
Once I put in flash mode everything went fine by following instructions in the thread.
Thanks,
So when you downloaded the files with XperiFirm and used NewFlasher did you delete any of the files or just drop newflasher into the created directory and flashed everything.

Just dropped all newflasher files into the created firmware directory and just ran the newflasher application from that directory. It flashed everything in there.
I know the thread says if you want you can remove specific things from the firmware directory if you don't want to flash certain things. But I didn't see any reason to do that and I never care about wiping my device since all my info is backed up in the cloud and takes around 30 minutes to restore and be up and running again. Just to be safe I flashed everything so that it doesn't screw up anything. I haven't used the Xperia flash tools before so kept it simple.

Must be an Branding/Software issue i guess.
On the unbranded EU version, both is available.
wifi calling: Settings -> Wireless&Networks -> Wi-Fi Calling
VoLTE: Settings -> Wireless&Networks -> Mobile Networks -> Enable VoLTE

Could be that the settings are not available unless your carrier/plan supports them. Pretty sure anyone slipping a T Mobile sim in has those services.
is any workaround to modify oem.sin? i just want to add my operator VoLTE settings. Thanks
Did you ever figure this one out?
Its impossible to edit a .sin file and flash it using flashtool.
You have to do it via a custom ROM, hence a rooted device is needed

hmm,, I do not know, you can try it. Just swap the necessary .sin files using flashtool and try to flash it. there are 3 outcomes.
1. it will work (Great)
2. It will not flash (No problem)
3. It soft brick s your phone, so just flash a .ftf to restore your phone.
It works to flash oem.sin from other regions firmware with no problems , my problem is that my operator just released VoLTE and VoWIFI and Sony didnt add the settings in their firmware and the only way to do it is if i root the phone or if i could edit OEM.SIN before flashing (but seems thats not possible). My operator doesnt sell any Sony phones so probably will take a long time till my operator will contact them to add the settings in the firmware or maybe not at all or maybe only for latest devices or for the future models (i cant know that). Sony does have the VoLTE settings in like all EU firmwares and VoLTE + VoWIFI in specific operator firmware but only for Orange in my country and im using some other operator.
Edit:// just get the firmware that has your operator settings then flash only the oem.sin from it with flashtool , i did that with mine and i had no problems.

I have a problem in that my phone was never released by my operator! Do you think it'd be possible to get an OEM.sin from another phone altogether? They have released both the XZ Premium and Z5 Premium (I have the X performance). Alternatively I think if I edit the modem.conf I might have a way to get VoLTE too

this is experimental try replacing firmware folder with elabel-Gxxxx-india-row_xxxxxxxxx_41.3.A.2.XX_S1-ELABEL-LIVE-DE8D-PID1-0004-MMC.sin and also you need to manually extract update.xml from indian firmware.... if it is set to unpack automatically in xperia firm it will be replaced by update.xml from the big file that size 2.6GB , you need update.xml from the indian firmware placed inside 46MB file
FYI without unpacking there will be like 3 files
one size 2.6 , other two size 46mb and 1.2mb
we need update xml from 46mb file and sin from 1.2 mb also dont forget to remove elabel-Gxxxx-yourcountry-row_xxxxxxxxx_41.3.A.2.XX_S1-ELABEL-LIVE-DE8D-PID1-0004-MMC.sin

Yes.
Stock firmware, no matter which region/version/branded or unbranded can be flashed without unlocking bootloader by using Flashtool or Newflasher. As long as the bootloader remain locked you won't lose any Sony's DRM keys.

Bought the phone last week and the Android 11 update was ready, so I installed it without a second thought. After digging a little bit online I found out that a lot of stuff worked better on A10(app switching, power button menu, media notifications, less ram & storage usage etc.). There was no A10 firmware available on Xperifirm for the 72 model so I downloaded and flashed the 52 firmware
