Support for 900 & 2100 mhz (3g) ? - Samsung Galaxy S Relay 4G

Does the relay 4G use the 900 and the 2100 mhz bands ?
Some sites day it does, other say it doesn't.

if you're asking if it works for hspa outside of US yes, it does. apparently wcdma is 2100mhz everywhere but in the US

I'm just wondering if 900 Mhz does also work (the phone has it?)

Tweak the radio?

Is there a way to tweak the Captivate radio to switch between the 850 MHz band and the 900 MHz band or turn it into a quad band UMTS handset that can be used as a world phone?
no. If you want the 900 band, get the Vibrant

What part of the world would I need 850 that doesn't have a carrier on one of the other 3 bands?
850 is where most iDen phones operate - hence you would need 850 in markets where the operator owns "850" and plans to re-deploy. Lower frequencies yield better coverage and iDen usage is declining.

North America! There are many places in the US and Canada where 850 MHZ UMTS is all that is available. AT&T is migrating UMTS from the 1900 band to the 850 band. Venezuela requires the 900 MHz band and Europe is moving in that direction as well. Right now I carry two handsets when away from home.
Costa Rica 850 only for 3g...

[Q] Data usage/frequency (3G)

I got Nexus S on ATT and I have tried it with a TMobile SIM (got surprised because phone isn't locked...) but it works on 2G only.
I'm wondering if it will work properly (as 3G) in Europe. Does it cover 900 and 2100?
What is ATT's data frequency? Is it 2100?
thanks !
I'm gonna reply to my own topic: according with Wiki ATT uses 850 MHz and 1900 MHz for UMTS (3G) that means ATT (unlocked) phone will work as 2G in Europe (2100 MHz)
On the other hand, T-Mobile's frequencies are 1700 MHz (uplink) and 2100 MHz (downlink).
Does it mean a T-Mobile phone will be able to work properly on Europe's 3G networks (2100 MHz?

Forcing a Sensation Tmous 4G to 850mhz..?

I've seen that a few samsungs and european HTCs can do this through service mode, but is there any way to force the Sensation 4G to 850mhz? according to HTC, the modem in the phone does support AT&T frequencies and the carrier with the best connection only supports 850mhz in my country, and i reeeally don't want to buy a new phone.
i know it's a longshot, but it's worth trying.
Be careful, you don't want to ruin your device. Watch for overheating. Watch for force closes. Any signs And go back to normal. Be very cautious overclocking that much

Its not overclocking, its trying to get one of the cellphone frequencies.

i'm not talking about overclocking, it's the data modem, to put it simply, i need to be on AT&T frequencies but my phone is T-Mobile, and i've seen people change it according to their region. is it possible on the Sensation?
Well for starters the only way you would be able to operate on that frequency one your device has to be carrier free meaning unlocked from all gsm carrier's and this will allow your device to operate on that frequency meaning all you would have to do is swap sim cards if your device is carrier free and then you be able to put in AT&T sim card and reboot however you can't do this unless you are carrier free

The Sensation supports 850mhz for gsm. It does not support 850mhz or 1900mhz hspa (at least the us version does not support 1900 hspa, having aws instead).
So if you are using an att sim and want 850mhz, you would have to switch it to gsm only (although it'd only work with gsm anyway since att uses 850/1900 for hspa iirc, or maybe just 1900?).
Even then, it'd choose between 850 and 1900 depending on signal / area, etc.

meaning my sensation is confined to EDGE speeds on said networks??
Compatible networks GSM/GPRS/EDGE
850 900 1800 1900 MHz
UMTS/HSPA
850 1900 2100 or 900 1700 2100 MHz
HSDPA 14.4 Mbps
HSUPA 5.76 Mbps
tmo version supports 900/1700/2100.
looks like the other version not available in america supports 850/1900/2100 for umts.
not sure if there's any difference in hardware or if it's defined in software (not a part that's included in ruu's).

Its a difference in hardware. The Canadian Bell version supports 850/1900 (AT&T Frequencies) You can use the T Mobile version but you will be limited to edge/2G only.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy s2 hd lte (SHV E120S) 3g does not work!!!!!!!!

Hello guys!
I just brought my Galaxy s2 hd lte which is known as SHV-E120s similar to att galxy s2 skyrocket in ATT.
It is unlock .
when i put my simcard, i always get G which is GPRS. This is so slow and it makes me crazy.
Thus, i look over google and find what my support 3g band which was.
2G Network: GSM 850/ 900 /1800/ 1900
3G Network: HSDPA 850/ 900/ 1900 /2100
HSDPA 900/ 2100
4G Network: LTE 800/ 1800 /2600
Also I look over T-mobile 3G frequency over google and found that
850MHz: GSM/GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA : 2G/3G
1900 MHz: GSM/GPRS/EDGE: 2G
1700/2100 MHz: UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+: 3G/4G
1900 MHz: UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+: 3g/4G
1700 / 2100 Mhz: LTE
Acoording to this chart. i know that i cannot use LTE.
However, i believe, it will support 3G which i have HSDPA 1900 and 2100 Mhz.
Based on m assumption, because of t mobile use weird signal AWS? thats why my phone does not work 3g?
i really want to solution for it. THE GSRM IS SO SLOW THAT I CANNOT EVEN POSE THINGS ON MY FACEBOOK.....
thank you.

Have exactly the same problem .... any solution to this ????
No it is not similar you're in the wrong subsection. Rocket HD is different. Also make sure your phone is unlocked and u need a different radio compatible with the T-Mobile frequencies

Does the Skyrocket have a 1900 LTE Band?

From the [REF] 1-stop Thread:
Skyrocket's bands are:
i727(r) freg's:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100
4G Network LTE 700 MHz Class 17 / 1700 / 2100
It looks like the Skyrocket doesn't use 1900 on LTE? Is that correct?
The reason I ask is because I'm on T-Mobile, and in my area, I can't get 4G inside some of the coverage map. I am assuming that I don't get Band 2 for T Mobile, which uses 1900 Mhz PCS. However, Tmobile also uses 1900 for 2G and 3G, which the Skyrocket supposedly supports. Am I missing something? Thanks. :good:
Tmobile uses:
LTE Frequencies:
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
Lower 700 MHz band 12 (in development) / in service in selected areas
3G/4G Frequencies (WCDMA):
1700 MHz & 2100 MHz AWS band 4
1900 MHz PCS band 2 (in refarmed areas)
2G Frequencies (GSM/GPRS/EDGE):
1900 MHz PCS band 2
