[Q] Wifi says connected, but data/internet stops transferring after a minute or two - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

My headphone jack was messed up so Verizon sent me a new phone. I backed up my old phone (running CM nightlies) via cwm nandroid on my external sd and restored it on the new phone. Everything seems to be working except wifi stops working after one to five minutes, usually closer to one. The phone says connected, but data transfer stops after a couple minutes. I downloaded and flashed the latest CM nightly but the problem persisted. Then I unrooted/flashed stock via odin/locked bootloader, but the problem persisted. Currently I'm back on my restored nandroid.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated! Thank you!

what radio firmware were you running before the new phone? Is it the same? Try resotring to stock and not loading your backup items, just connect to the wifi manually and see if it works better.

I was running the latest radios. That's what I did, I flashed stock (VRBMF1) via odin, did the initial first time setup and connected to wifi. After a couple minutes everything began hanging again.

I flashed the radios again, but no luck.

Have you tried to connect to another network? It could be a network instead of a phone problem.

Audio routing to headset though it is not connected

Hello All,
I am freaking out. I am not sure what went wrong. I was flashing my phone with new rom from KiNgxKxNexus FroyoDesire2Nexus 1.4 and I got stuck while booting and then I restarted and went to bootloader and restored crayogen rom. Since then I am unable to use my phone without headset though I tried different roms, restored etc. Phone is always detecting headset though it is not connected. Please help me on how I can fix this issue. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Just wanted to update that I got this fixed. After flashing couple more roms and restoring my rom from older versions and clearing and wiping the cache and data it finally worked.

[Q] Defy cyanogen wifi problems

So yesterday I successfully upgraded my Motorola Defy from 2.2 to jellybean using the latest version or the cyanogen mod. I also installed the latest Gapps. Everything seemed fine until attempted to connect to wifi. When I click on the browser app it loads then instantly crashes. Then I tried the play store but it would not connect. It says it is connected to my home wifi next to the connection but says not connected under the drop down menu.
To try to fix this I reinstalled the cyanogen mod and gapps. Same problem. Then I tried a later version of them with still no luck. Every time I have installed I have restored and cleared the cache. The lasted install won't even turn on wifi.
Everything I have downloaded has been from links on this site. I am a total noob at this and have no idea what's wrong so I've just given as much info as I can.

After rebooting cant get network signal..

So I was on omnirom, then I tried multirom. Multirom didnt go well for me and I noticed that when I used a nandroid omnirom backup as my secondary rom I was having these signal issues. My primary rom wasnt even working. So I uninstalled multirom, I cleaned wiped device and started over and I still have signal issues. Only way I resolve issue is to make a connection via wifi and suddenly my network shows up, I can shut wifi off and network signal stays working. If I reboot, I have no network connection again unless I do my quick fix. I did flash the latest 12.1 firmware, not sure if I'm firmware confused. Any help would be appreciated as to why this is happening.

[help] lg g2 wifi and bluetooth not working

I have an LG G2 ( d802 - International) which has some issues with wifi and Bluetooth. On my phone mac addresses(both wifi and Bluetooth) are not showing up. It happened yesterday when I was using my phone which was running cm13, all of a sudden the wifi stopped so at first I tried to turn it off and on again, which didnt seem to work because the wifi didnt turn on (I dont really need bluetooth as of my daily life). So I rebooted my phone and the problem persisted. So i decided to factory reset with TWRP ( I normally reset once every so often to speed up my phone again , and at this point my phone was getting really slow). Which I did, but then something wired happened... The upgrading android dialog box came up after the reset and it showed ~140 apps. But normally that wouldnt happen after a reset. I didnt mind that and checked to see if the wifi worked again, yet no luck. So I went for a full format of data, which also popped up with the upgrading android. So I thought maybe it was to do with the rom, and decided to try out some other rom. So i had 2 roms on my sdcard at that time, Dorimanx-V9.7-LP and the stock lg rom. At first when i tried the Dorimanx rom it didnt work and wasnt booting right so I was not bothered to fix and I went for the stock rom which worked.. and it happened again... upgrading android dialog box. So i started researching and saw it mention that this could be a cause of bootloaders not being the right version, now i do not know a lot about bootloaders so I couldnt really do anything. I tried to update twrp with auto rec ( i got the apk thru usb from pc to phone), which worked yet still no fix.
*Seen some other threads and tried the following with no success*
Deleting the contents of : /data/misc/wifi/
Factory resetting
Details:
Lg G2 (D802)
Wifi and bluetooth not working ( No mac addresses)
Running :Stock Lollipop rom for lg
Rooted
Twrp version : 2.8
Any Help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance! :good:

No service issue

All of a sudden my OPO started to show No service. But it detects the sim and imei shows a valid value. Wifi works properly but the neither calls nor data. Once rebooted the device shows Airplane mode when power button is long pressed but it is not shown in the home screen. It was running the latest OTA. I tried
* deleting APN and loading the defaults
* trying to turn on the radio via *#*#4636#*#*
* flashing the latest OTA via recovery
* flashing the latest factory image via fastboot
* flashing an old factory image via fastboot
* flashing an old modem via fastboot
none of those methods worked.
Please help me to bring my OPO to normal condition. Thank you.

Hey have you found a solution? My opo started yesterday afternoon running into a lot of issues with service connection and then just no service all the time. I tried most of the things you did and no luck went to tmobile and they didn't help much but gave me new sim which seemed to help some. I have some connection outside but soon as I walk indoors the internet drops to g or edge barely ever lte. And my connection is spotty. Its only been few hours with new sim so I'll see tomorrow if same issue persists.

I have the exact same issue as you and I haven't yet been able to find a fix.
I've tried absolutely everything including:
- Changing the modem
- Wiping the phone completely and reinstalling my Rom
- Trying every other Rom out for the OnePlus One.
- Reverting back to the Stock CM11 Rom that came with the phone.
Nothing helped my issue. My phone would just go from 4g in some places to 2g in others, And sometimes I wouldn't even be able to get a signal, it would just say "No Signal" or "No Data Sim"
I had similar problem few weeks ago, but also my sim card was not detected... My solution was to flash twrp 2.8.0.6 and flash OxygenOS TWRP compatible . This one https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24385658843824180 and after that everything has started working, IMEI , APN settings , sim card, and data worked... and after that you can flash whatever you will. And remember , always make a nandroid backup . Backups are real life savers out there. Let me know if that helped in your case.
I've just tried it. No success, same issue persisted. Not a big fan of oxygenOS anyway.
