[Q] Xperia J locked everything but rooted - Sony Xperia Miro, Tipo (Dual), J, E

Hey, i got Xperia J from auction for cheap coz it was locked to local operators and ofc with locked almost everything. I managed somehow root it, but cannot figure out the locked bootloader (it should be done somehow after i rooted it?) and then that SIM lock. And, of course cannot fastboot.
I appreaciate any help.

Download Unlock Phone to help you unlock Bootloader and possibly unlock the simlock Please hit thanks if i helped )

Totally not helped, because that piece of c**p does not support ST26i and when i even wasted $15 it doesn´t not detect it.
Please point me any useful information rather than these paid non-functioning things...
I can do many things by myself but with these useless things i´m lost..
Otherwise i´ll be forced to find some service that would do it.. for price..

[Q] Xperia J is possible to unlock BL with test point method??

Hi,
I did research using uncle google but I can't find any good answer.
So the question is: Is possible to unlock boot loader with any other method than official sony web site?
I'm interested if it's even test point method because on my J "Bootloader unlock Status" says No.
Maybe I should flash something jet like simlock.sin?
Any ideas?
Phone was sim locked before but it is already (sim) unlocked by code, unfortunately status remain the same.
Can anyone help with that?

[Q] Sony Xperia U network unlock

It's probably a n00b question so apologies in advance, but if I root / bootloader unlock and Cyanogenmod flash an Android phone that's locked to a certain network, will that network lock be removed along with the official default Android ROM? Or is the lock at something like a BIOS level (or whatever the smartphone equivalent of a BIOS is)?
I bought a pre-unlocked Xperia U about a year ago that I've been using on Vodafone and had to return it under warranty (got stuck in a boot loop despite the fact that it's totally unmodified, not even rooted, honest!) and the replacement they sent back is locked to Virgin Mobile. They're telling me that the phone I sent them was originally sold to Virgin in France and locked to Virgin before I bought it, and that they've therefore fulfilled their responsibility. So I'm just wondering now about unlocking, and I've always been curious anyway about how / if bootloader unlocking, custom ROMs etc are related to network unlocking.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide with this!

well u can unlock it.. by getting the code from sony..
It will also unlock the ph..'s Sim lock..
Or ask the sony officialy for this.. they'll provide u every info required.
But unlocking the bl will do the job for you to be sim free
But do double check this from google too.
Also before unlocking pls make a backup as it will wipe everything from the device.
Just unlock and don't flash any custom kernels. If you want to then do it carefully pls with a backup and a copy of flashable stock rom.
Flash custom roms based on stock kernels
Hope this will answer the query..
Thanks for your reply! I spoke to Sony and they just told me to contact the network (which have done and they're wanting to charge me a fee to provide the unlock code). So to clarify, if I root the phone and unlock the bootloader, the network SIM lock will also be removed?

Not by rooting but also i guess not even by unlocking bl..
how much are they charging exactly..
i'll try to find the link for this
Also check this that how many times is the code applied for unlocking..it should not be 0
use this *#*#7378243#*#* in dialer
then service info sim lock

When I dial that number, the number just disappears. What is it for? They want £15.32 for the code. Should I just pay them and forget about trying to remove the lock?

Sorry the code is this
*#*#7378423#*#*
check the sim lock counters should be zero in all..
if zero then once u can try googling the code for unlocking if they work then it's great.
if not then it would be better to pay them for this as its a bit risky..
and are u using virgin's network??
As it's cheaper what they areaskingfor i guess.

[Q] Sony Xperia TL [LT30at] - Need to free it from AT&T

Hello Community!!
Noobiest noob here. Please forgive my ignorance.
Sony Xperia TL [LT30at] AT & T phone.
Android version: 4.1.2
Build: 9.1.F.1.120
Here is my issue:
I now need to use this phone in India with a different network provider, but i don't want to spend money on unlocking the phone for a new sim card. I read a bit about flashing a custom ROM and watched Jeremy Phan's video: "3 ways to root your (xperia) android: tool kits, kernel flashing, recovery"
I installed sony's pc companion and update service, i also installed the flash tool on my machine.
a) will flashing the phone do the trick?
b) if so i'm having a tough time finding the right firmware for this phone. Please link me to a robust and hazel free firmware for my phone.
thanks a ton
micky
Hi Micky,
You cant unlock your phone (remove SIM lock) from the operator by reflashing it. You will need an unlock code for that. A legal way is to obtain it from AT&T if your contract is ended, the other one is to buy it, e.g. on eBay. Once you'll get it, just enter a simple key combination to get into service menu, go to appropriate menu item and enter that code there, after that your phone is unlocked, no reflash needed.
Hope that helps.
Hi summer,
Thanks a lot for your insight. I've been searching all the corners of the internet for a while now, with a vengance I think it should be time to drop those efforts.
Please bear with me, i'm trying to think out loud here - Is there no way i can tweak the phone to accept any sim card? Like by disabling a few settings or hard coding some part after gaining root access?
Buying an unlock code is not an option for me at this point, and i don't want to use the phone just to check email and take pictures
many thanks
SIM lock information is not stored somewhere in firmware, which you can access by gaining root permissions. I assume there may be some tricks similar to Turbo SIM in iPhone where you can emulate the correct SIM, but its definitely not worth it.

[Q] Bootloader

Hi all
I just wanted to confirm something and put my mind at rest. I really don't like the idea of all the O2 branding or bloatware on my Sony Xperia Z1 (C6903). After typing in the *#*#7378423#*#* code into my phone, my Bootloader unlocking status is set to NO.
Does that really mean there is absolutely nothing I can to to Root my phone and get rid of my carriers control and stupid branding? And if not, why is this?
Thank you
David.
Well it may be hard to root it, but you'll have to find an external method to unlock the bootloader. Look for other methods. Till now I can only tell you to disable these carrier applications.

PLEASE help!! Xperia Z3 D6603 locked

Hi! I have an Xperia Z3 and I've recently changed the password for it. After that, I couldn't unlock it with it. I don't know why because I remember my password but I guess I've pressed some wrong letters when I set it up. I can't seem to get it unlocked, I've tried everything I found on the Internet ( that code with *#*# doesn't work, Xperia and PC Companion don't work with a password locked device). The Android Device Manager is useless, I do not have the option to put a new password. My device is not rooted, I do not have active any apps that could help me unlock it(myXperia ? ), not even to back up my data. I do NOT want to factory reset it, I have important data that I can't afford to lose. I'm pretty desperate, I really need it back soon. What can I do? I even tried to factory reset it because I was hopeless, even if it was the last solution, but I couldn't even get that done. I know there are a lot of these topics online but trust me., I've searched and tried everything and it still freaking doesn't work. Thank you for your answers.
