Hello world,
Do you email yourself notes, to-do items and links to web pages so you'll remember to deal with them later?
The thing is that each time you have to open your email app, compose a new message, fill in your email address and only then start the message.
So I created MeMail - set up your email address once and you're done.
Launch MeMail and type away.
Found an interesting link? In your browser go: Menu->Share->MeMail and it's there.
Give it a try - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=il.co.spaces.memail
Works with all the email clients, no permissions needed, free.
I would appreciate comments so I could improve further.
Thanks.
AW: [APP][Free] MeMail - quick email and share utility
I thought about writing an app like this. I like to email myself the location where I parked my car. The email is also sent to my girlfriend, so she'll know too. Does your app support multiple recipients and predefined email subject?
The next version (which I'm working on) will have a predefined subject.
I'll also add the option for including current location, why not?
Thanks for commenting.
Great idea. Email myself so many things xD

I think including location is not important, it will make the app too complex perhaps.
It's great that you will support predefined email subject. :good: I use it to apply Gmail filter and label.
Maybe it would be a good idea to have profiles in your app, e.g.
Profile 1
Name: Default
Recipients: me
Subject: MeMail Reminder
Profile 2
Name: Dude, where's my car?
Recipients: me, girlfriend
Subject: Car Location
Is it possible to store message as draft?

Sure, since all the email handling is done by your email client - If you don't send your message it will be saved as draft.

Using profiles is a good idea, but I was thinking more of creating different desktop shortcuts that launch different settings... Profiles could be used when using the sharing feature from within the browser.
Thanks

I'm not sure I understand what this is used for. Say, I have two different desktop shortcuts. What will they do? Could you give an example, please?
Working fine for me.

I would add shortcuts to drafts, so you could easily access stored notes.

I understand. Will you also implement profiles? So that when something is shared to MeMail, the user is prompted which profile should be used and MeMail then creates the email accordingly.
Btw, I tested multiple recipients. It works fine by simply separating the email addresses through a semicolon.
very cool idea, i email myself thing all the time.
Thanks for Sharing

Bad idea, of course profiles seems to be interesting, but don't ask user each time which one to use, add default profile and option in menu to choose default profile.

I agree. This should be an option.

Good idea! Declaring a default account which will be used for sharing within the browser (I actually thought of using a pop-up).

Regarding the shortcuts "system":
Let's say you have two shortcuts - one is called "parking" and the other "notes". When you launch "parking" it has the subject set to - "my car is at:" and the body of the message has your location. It will be sent to you and your girlfriend.
"notes" will have "notes" as the subject and only your email as the recipient.
This way you get the email started immediately (no need to choose a profile).
Launching the main app will let you manage the profiles and shortcuts.

I don't believe there's any application that will do this currently for the Gear 2.
One recommendation is set the gear contacts up to only show favorites. Then use the Shortcut Clock as your home screen with Contacts as one of your 3 Icons. Instead of having to scroll through your entire phone book, only your few selected favorites will pop up. I only initiate calls from the gear to family and friends for a quick chat, I don't call work contacts or plan long conversation from the gear.
Hello.
I'm searching for a little special app for messages (SMS).
I'm receiving from my job many SMS from our tracking system of network. The problem is, that it always came from different number (It's somehow generated) so it always start new conversation.
Is there any app, which can sort these SMS into one conversation by only part of number (the start of number is always the same) or by a beginning of SMS (the text always start with the same words)?
Thank you

Can you please describe, where exactly I should set it?
I downloaded the app but didn't find anything like this in settings...
Any other tips?
I don't know if this works for you, but you could do this:
1 - Use this method to back up your messages to a Gmail label
2 - Create another filter in Gmail to label all messages with that specific content which you said every message starts with
3 - View that newly made label on your Gmail app/widget
I know this is a uselessly long workaround, there must be a better method to sort messages how you want to, but its just a thought...
Look up IFTTT. Install it. Create the following conditions:
If New SMS Contains:
*le filter*
Then Send Me SMS:
O
*original SMS*
Now all the messages will have the same number. But there'll be dupes.

So I will have SMS on gmail. That's not a good solution, because it will spam also my Outlook... (I have around 14 SMS per day...)

Looks interesting, I will test it
Only thing which doesn't look very comfortable is need of internet connection :/
EDIT: IFTTT is not the solution, because I will have the SMS doubled
Hello everybody, this is my firs post. I am an happy z3 owner coming from iphone.
I have a question regarding the managing of the SMS notification on the pull down bar (where you have all the notifications).
While for the emails I can open the line with the number of new message I have, on the sms notification I just have "new messages: 2" but i cannot find any way to see who is sending me the message or I cannot see any preview of the message.
The only thing I can do is switch to the sms application in order to see the preview and the sender name.
Am I doing something wrong? can you guys help me?
Ciao

Normally you just click on the "new messages: 2" line and it should take you to whichever app you use for that type of message (Hangouts, or whatever the stock one is called).
Thanx for the answer. The probkem is that i would like to see who is sending me the sms without opening the default application. This is more bad when i sm using acdisplay for the lock screen, because i have to unlock phone to see the sender.
I just switch to hangouts as a default sms client and the thing are better niw because i can see the sender name and a partial preview of the sms!

You could try Dashclock (free app, open source in fact), which supports a lot of plugins - there's a Hangouts extension there, and probably others which may show you more info, even from the lock screen.
Folks
Does anybody know of an app that allows you to place a widget or icon on the home screen. Once you click on it, it immediately opens Gmail with the To: column populated with a pre-defined email address and you can just type the message and send
Big time saver if you send 50 emails to one person a day
Thx

i can't figure how this app works. Also i woulid have to open the app and then click on smth, 2 clicks. I'm looking for something that you can add a widget to the home screen and once you click on it, it automatically puts you in the body field of gmail (to and subject is pre-defined)
Any other app recommendations for this?
