I'm poor but want a device I can use custom ROMS on. - Android General

Currently have a Pantech Pocket and I absolutely love it but ICS or other custom ROMS are MIA. I'm eligible for subsidized upgrade in Feb. 2014 (Sold my 4S to fund a vacation) so I'm not able to spend hundreds on a new device. On my local Craigslist someone has an Atrix 2 for 75 bucks. Good deal? Lots of custom possibilities? Is that device worth getting over my PantechP9060?

What is currently the best Verizon phone?

I've had my Razr since launch day and I'm getting tired of it. Not enough development to keep me interested. The only ROM that I'm interested in, has a broken download link, and has for weeks, so I'm stuck here.
I have had an upgrade due since March and have yet to use it.
I've been checking out reviews for the GSIII, and the GNEX, all of which are leading me to believe the GSIII is the superior device, although there are still problems of locked bootloaders.
Are there any decent phones out there without a locked bootloader? Are there any good phones out there that have had the bootloader unlocked? Whether it be by the Manufacturer, or a hacker/modder?
I don't want to spend over $200, so if you see any deals, feel free to send them my way.
AmazonWireless currently has the GNEX priced at $49.99 with the upgrade. I have yet to find the GSIII for cheap.

[Q] UK phone recommendation please

Hello,
I've had my fun with the old Blade, then G300, then Desire S, then Desire HD and last January I purchased a One X+ from Vodafone.
Unfortunately this last purchase was of poor planning. Within weeks of buying this "latest" phone HTC decided the phone was old hat and out comes the M7 (One). I was really miffed about this, Vodafone dropped the phone from their sales within weeks of launching it too. Bit shi**y of HTC if you ask me but that's life I guess and the world of mobile manufacturers.
The phone is unlocked and rooted and there is a limited amount of dev work going on for this phone on xda (those few do a great job), but the phone has pretty much come to the end. Sense 5 has filtered out for the phone slowly, but I can't see HTC supporting it any longer. I really expected to enjoy this phone more than a few months!!!
I might sell it, it seems the resale value is still pretty good and I could easily purchase a Nexus 4 or other dev friendly phone and still have some change left over.
That being said, can anyone recommend a phone for £100 or under, decent size screen, decent specs and above all is dev friendly (plenty roms, active community, easily unlocked/rooted)?
I'm in the UK and use the GiffGaff/O2 network, so it would need to be unlocked/network free. Apologies if this is posted in the wrong forum. I was unsure where else to ask.
Thanks.
Have a look at the xperia m just got one and very happy with it good specs for the price, mine came in at 200 euro off contract.

[Q] Buy it now or wait?

Hey guys,
Just like all of us I want this phone, I haven´t got an invite yet but im patient and im sure we will all have recieved one by the end of the month.
The question I have though is if I should buy this phone now or wait for future flag ships?
I currently have the LG Optimus G, its not the newest phone but it doesnt lag and does most of the things I want it to, the main reason why I want to sell it is because I still get money for it now but in a year I wont. (Also the short battery life and bad camera - debatable)
My plan was to sell the Optimus G (on ebay they go for around 150-200€) and then buy the One with that money basically so I would have a brand new smartphone for "100€"
Is it worth it though? The One has killer specs and even though I prefer the LG3, the price blows it out of the water but with 4k screens coming etc, is it maybe worth it to stick with my Optimus G and wait until next year for some new releases?
I hope someone can help me make my decission.
Thanks guys!
Only you can make this decision, take time to read and research and form this opinion on your own as other do not know what you desire, as a similar thread already exists http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1620179 - and as XDA is not a support site, this thread is closed.

If you want a really new one even if it doesn't have the best specs you can get the moto e, but if you want a really solid phone that isn't exactly supported by google but is capable of a ton for ~$100 then the galaxy nexus is a great phone and you can get them new for about that price unlocked.
note 2 verizon
Note 2 verizon can be found for $150 on ebay if you watch watch watch.

[Completed] [WHAT PHONE] $200 android for Rooting & flashing ROMs.

Jan 2015 I bought Oneplus One used it for a year and finally sold it on Jan 2016 and bought iPhone 6s 64GB for more than $1000. Since then Ive been using it and frankly Im terribly disappointed and frustrated by the whole iOS eco system. Not to mention the higher cost of same Apps vis-a-vis Android.
Im now planning to get a second phone, an android, for my love of rooting and flashing custom ROMs and for changing more than a wallpaper in the name of customization. And eventually sell my iphone after a year since selling it now will cause heavy depreciation loss to me.
Ive set a budget of $200 to buy a custom rom happy android phone, please tell me which phones should I consider. Im open to used phones too.
Please note that phone should have rich custom rom development activities.
