i don't think you can hide yourself from others on facebook, but you can hide your photos, posts, likes, comments and all the other things, jjust go inside privacy options

If you set all settings to friends only it should only show your name and pic to your friends friends so your friend could see your profile but their friends couldn't.

I wanted to try out Whatsapp, but because I want to keep my private data for me, I blocked the access to my contacts via AppOps (on CM10.2). Now I can not add any of my contacts to Whatsapp, because the only way to do this is via my contact book.
So, my question is how to add contacts to Whatsapp without letting Whatsapp read my full contact list (manually?)

Could you please tell me is there a way to block receiving messages from an unknown contacts on whatsapp?
Is there any other external app that might do the job and help me? Like app that might help me to hide myself on whatsapp, so that the people whose number I don't have in my contact list can't see me using whatsapp and in that way stop them from sending me messages?
I used a lot of blockers that can be found on market, but none of them helps. Do you by any chance know about any other way that might help, or an app, or anything?
I use Samsung Galaxy S3.
