Hi Guys here is a quick video showing Next launcher on the Note 3. Although I have no problems with TW, but its an option to those who dislike it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgfqf0VeQB0
Don't you lose a lot of the S-Pen functionality without TouchWiz?
I only see that is missing the left app slide manager but I see that even if you run the TW isn't there also so you had disable it?

No you don't loose spen functions using a launcher
Sent from my HTC One using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Just to be clear you dont lose S-Pen but some navigation tricks are lost. Like swiping up for "magazine"
However the replacement launchers often have much more features that include gestures.

You do lose air command though, and multi window, don't you?
Those are specific to TW.
The only thing you keep with S Pen is the actual writing ability and pressure sensitivity, isn't that right?

No air command and air gesture both work on launchers

M8 I asked again but you loose multi window manager? I don't see it in the video
Sent from my SM-N9005 using Tapatalk 4
I believe that multi window will still work ...... Had it on a touchwiz 4.1.2 ROM on my s2 with Nova........
rooted, recovered, and rebooted from the ol' i777.......

Hello all, is the a way to be able to see through the keyboard? On certain time when i use an app and the section where i input my text, it is behind the keyboard and i cant see what im typing. I can do this on my wife's ipad, and she continues to rub it in my face that her table can do this
Some please help a samsung user squash this matter so i have another "up" on an apple.

Thank you all very much for the inputs. Will look up this hackers keyboard.

Where is that setting as I can't find it on mine?
I use keyboard view settings>theme and label settings and choose keyboard theme transparent (experimental) . Whilethe keys look glowy and the background of each key is a lighter grey, it's not transparent. Tested this using s note and another app. Even restarted my tablet, but nada.

That's what I get also.
I simply installed the multiwindow and popup apps from the note 2 onto the gs3 and it works fine.
It will even allow the video popup window.
This is on a stock sch-i535 @ 4.1.2 no root.
Cool.

prove it
video popup is already there since the release of s3. This fact certainly reduces the reliability of your post.

How's your MMS working? No roaming indicator issues? These are known issues for Verizon GS3.

Not

I've tried multiwindow and it really doesn't look good on the GS3, the windows look too cramped.

Igloo, I must apologize, I was referring to the popup windows, not multiwindow.
You guys like the multiwindow? I find it weird on a smaller screen than the Note 2's.
I honestly think its useless

Moars multi window is pretty nice I tried synergy and there's is kinda glitchy but honest truth I rarely use it...I NVR rmbr that I got it lol
First thing I did after signing in was switch to ART. If your going to do the same, I'd recommend you do it before downloading your apps. It has to optimize all apps on the device and I did it without downloading a single app. 324 apps. Took a while.

Not stupid at all bud. Unlock developer settings by going to "about phone" in settings, double tap "build number" 7 times until you see the toast msg that says "you are now a developer". Back out, go to the newly available " developer settings " and 3rd (4th if you count the first non selectable line) option which says "select runtime system" and change it to "ART". It will say Dalvik until you've changed it to ART. Choosing it will reboot your device and take a few minutes while sets up your apps for ART. It is possible that if could be incompatible with some apps but since it first released with 4.4, I haven't heard of this.
Sent from my SM-G900V using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I think this sped up the start up time of the camera, which is still kinda slow. I just hope I don't have issues with some apps as I've heard of others that had to completely reset their phone to stop some apps from crashing even after returning to Dalvik and reinstalling the app...

Basically, it is supposed to allow apps to start faster, run smoother and improve battery. Here's an in depth explanation

No literally it looked like a flash counter notification stating modified... not sure of it unlocked the bootloader or not as I'll let someone else make that brick in error... it had a lock which showed unlocked though.

Mine does this as well. I can't believe Samsung marks the device if you run ART. A stock feature of Android.

Yeah, not too bad. It looks as if they started to redesign it but only got as far as settings and quick settings lol. With Nova and Flatro icons, it looks as though it's how it was supposed to be done. One of things that was always first on my list after rooting or flashing was changing the appearance of the status bar/quick settings. I like them now so with Nova, I really like the appearance. IMO.

I don't wanna open a thread for this so I'll try it here, I can't remember the "official" name, but "quick glance"? Something like that. When device is asleep, you wave over it and it displays the time and notifications. The one " motion gesture " I use and I can't find it. Hope they didn't ax it.
Anyone know how to enable it? Can't find it in the gestures section... Nor can I find lock screen widgets.

I know people are all excited to try anything different, but ART on this device just isn't a good experience (at least on a stock device). I really wouldn't recommend switching, as you are unlikely to be pleased.
I just switched from theLg G2 and the first thing I noticed was the HTC keyboard. It is way better. Prediction wise it is on point for me. TheLg use to drive me nuts. I wish this had a number pad option, but otherwise this is the best keyboard I've found that works for me
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah I've been using it in place of SwiftKey since I got the One
I tried to like it but I keep going back to the Google Keyboard.
I was using Swype the past two years, but it really went to crap after Nuance bought it. The HTC keyboard works great.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
I will have to agree the htc keyboard is one of the best looking and functioning keyboards I've ever used. The only problem I've found is that sometimes when you let the keyboard auto complete and you hit space it'll either use the wrong word or cut the word in half. But all in all great work by htc.
My biggest problem with the HTC keyboard is that it doesn't remove the space before a question or exclamation mark. So I keep putting "hello ?" Instead of "hello?". The Google keyboard removes it.

i've been using flexsy now for the past few months. tried to switch back to the htc one because of the theme options but i just couldn't get away from the swipe to delete or space. if you haven't tried it out i suggest you give it go and see what you think
I prefer google keyboard - it is simple and they keys seem more spaced out. The HTC Keyboard app is now on the play store https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.sense.ime
I've been using the blacked out android l keyboard. Looks sick

I go back and forth between the stock keyboard and switftkey and this may just be the best stock keyboard ever.

Is there a way to add all apps to the multiwindow without root since there is no way to root the At&t edge yet.

Put them in folders?
Sent from my Samsung Note Edge using Tapatalk
Not folders. Put whatever apps I want in the multiwindow feature. Stick only allows certain apps. I have an app that will put them all in but it needs root. As of now, there isn't a way to root the At&t edge.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N915A using XDA Free mobile app
Oh I put them in folders, and I can get more. I separated the folders for what the apps do. I think it would be extremely long to put every app in the edge panel

You don't understand what he is asking.
He is asking about split screen. Where you have to programs running at the same time.
But yea the answer is no. If it's not on the Samsung list it won't work. Same thing happen with the note 3.
A tip tho if you press the recent app key. It will show you which apps can be multi window. There will be an icon that looks like an 8 on the right side of that app window.
Ok thanks for clarifying that for me.
