So.. EFS folder contain the IMEI of the phone, so I do not think s.b. want to give his own IMEI to s.b. else
Better tell us what is the problem you have and how you get this problem.

After some accident my phone got bricked. and i try every thing to fix it.
after few tries i manage to install CWMR and after that i install CM rom. but i can't install any rom beside that. If i try it will stuck on LG logo.
And My efs folder is gone and no backup.
to do this ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=27912354 ) i need to go to Stock rom. But because of that Logo thing i can't do that.
And one more thing This is the worst phone i ever seen.. And It bricked when restarting. I lost my IMEI in SGS and in SGS2 within 2hr i got my correct IMEI without any problem.
If any one can give me a correct EFS folder I can give my phone IMEI and S/N to create it.

Follow THIS guide STEP by STEP. You will restore your phone, IMEI, etc... It is LONG but good.... there is many other guides that you can use too like THIS one that is more easy and fast. They will restore all. After that you can install some custom ICS rom

nope he said he dont have anything.. like a backup or anything like that
Without a Android backup or a efs backup then you are screwed. Sorry bro, efs is the file that contains your phones identity, without it your phone is typically "not alive". You can still use it like iPod, or you can salvage the parts and sell them.

what about restoring the corrupted imei with a jtag or z3x box?
Hi all, well this is my question. Few days ago i got my efs folder corrupted and my imei damaged, my phone had no signal. Then i got it to a place where repair cellphones and they got my SGS4G fixed. Heres the question, qhen i look into the restored efs folder i noticed that nv_data files are in a folder called root inside efs folder, and also, they are small files, i mean, they are 706kb files when they are supoused to be of 2mb atleast. So i wonder, is everything ok?, its possible to put another rom qith no problem ? help please.
All you had to do really was restore your phone back to stock and it rebuilds the imei. I've changed imei's on a phone by flashing over a different efs file and when I used 1 click to back to stock, the original imei was back.
While we are discussing this. Have you copied the folder and transferred it to your pc yet?

No, only in my sd card , but dont worry, i havent flsahed anything yet, ill do it when i before to start . And man, i tried flash back to stock rom, but it didnt worked, my imei cntinued on 0s. But well, i still wondering if its ok that my nv_data files are so small.
Zeros are no bueno...
When you say "stock" which Rom are you flashing?
Yeah hahaha, its such a disaster have it on zeros. But well, i got it fixed now, but flashing to stock rom didnt help, and with "stock" i mean to flash to original rom that T-Mobile develoaps for my mobile, its supoused that if u fo that ull get your imei back, but it is not always the solution :/.
OP please title your thread....Thank You
So did you ever figure it out?
my friend gave me a phone. when i check it it has no IMEI, no Baseband
so i search in this forum and tried many tricks to recover IMEI but no luck.
i heard that if i can flash a dummy IMEI to this phone i can repair it with z3x box or octopus Box
the problem is i don't know how to flash this to dummy IMEI and also i don't have flash file for it.
I beg everyone to help me. or can give me link where to download those flash files.
or how can i put dummy IMEI to this phone.
i heard nandroid can fix this but i dont have those nandroid.
im new in this forum and sorry for my bad english. help me guys.

i need help from the experts
you have to take the phone to the samsung service center and get it repaired because your efs folder is missing which has the imei number
With a phone root and busybox
Galaxy unlocker > https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.helroz.galaxysunlock&hl=fr
Trying to see if you can recover EFS
i tried those you've mention but no luck, i wanna try to restore a nandroid backup but i don't know where can i get or is there will be someone to lend me his nandroid back. sorry for my bad english

there is NO IMEI because your efs folder is corrupted or missing/doesnt exist/got deleted,etc..so here are the things you need to follow
* Root your phone first using this link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894737
*Flash a custom recovery (ClockworkMod Recovery/CWM)
so now you have a custom recovery so now you can take a backup and you should take a backup(for precautionary measures).
*Install the app "Galaxy_S Unlock" from playstore as LoLaTion said and if you cant download it from playstore then download the apk(installation)file which you will get easily on web.
Also install BusyBox which is available on both playstore and web.
*Now by using the application "Galaxy_S Unlock" try to recover your IMEI.
and if still there is no luck on your phone then you can just go to Samsung Service Centre and hopefully they will solve this problem for you.
Phone=rooted
flash cwm for backup
installed busy box
tried to repair using galaxy s unlock
but no luck, service centre said they can change board but it cost 70-80% of the brandnew
i can still see my efs folder
.nv_core.bak
.nv_core.bak.md5
.nv_data.bak
.nv_data.bak.md5
was dated 10/12/2012
and my friend said this phone was damage in november
i think there is still a way to fix this rather than go to service centre cause i still don't have budget to buy new board

do you get any error message like
Warning! A problem was detected with your device. Your device IMEI number is invalid. And invalid IMEI number could cause network issues including the inability to call emergency numbers.
then this link might help you http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/28963/how-to-restore-my-imei
however, while browsing our forums I came across this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1308546
but you cannot use it because its not for our phone... wish we could had something like that.. and just asking out of curosity does your phone have a IMEI number under the battery?

you said you can see your efs folder... try this http://android.stackexchange.com/questions/28963/how-to-restore-my-imei
since you can see your efs maybe somehow on CM9 or CM10 there is a possibility that your IMEI can be restored.. give it a try
GoodLuck
Hello, my friend flashed his Optimus 3D (LG P920) and lost his IMEI.
I managed to recover it by flashing the phone THREAD
However I have a question - How can I backup the IMEI or prevent it from getting deleted when flashing custom ROMs?
I'm sorry if this has been posted before but I could find a thread specifically for this phone.
Thanks in advance.

Remove the battery and you will see your IMEI
Or if he still has the case, it's on a white sticker on the back.
I don't think you quite understood me.
After flashing a custom ROM the IMEI inside the phone memory gets deleted and there's no signal or anything.
The only way to fix it was to follow the guide in my initial post. I know that the IMEI is under the battery but there's no way to set it in the phone's settings other than flashing.

you do not LOOSE your IMEI, you OVERWRITE it. so... you have to overwrite it back to have you IMEI. For this you need a commands in the thread you already know.
Hi
The other day I messed up my Gtab P1000 by going from CM10.2 back to CM9.1, it deleted my IMEI etc. I ended up with null or fake IMEI numbers
I tried this method first
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1264021
but it did not work.
I put the nv.data.bak and md5.bak I made by doing those instructions in that guide away and forgot about them.
Then went on a tour of the net trying to get tools and info
I tried loads, efs pro....sdk tools...qpst...imei writers....plus others, but nothing alone would work.
What I had to do was:
Download a stock rom for my country (GB V5 would not work, had to be stock for me)
Start odin 1.85
Flash stock rom, mr.pit and modem from the GB V5 stock safe rom in download mode
Start up
Root it
Put the nv.data.bak and its md5 that you made earlier into SD card
Download root explorer and start it
Copy the files over to your phones efs folder
start up EFS pro
Click back up/restore
Restore from internal back up. reboot aaaaaaaaaaand finally, after days of trying, it was fixed
As I say EFS alone would not work, and the 9 easy steps guide alone would not work for me, The way I did it also would not work with the stock GB V5. I don't know why. All I know is I had to use Stock UK rom from samsung website with the back up made from the guide and EFS pro
Hope that helps some of you. Or someone can put it somewhere that it can be helpful. Use my instructions as you see fit.
Cheers

Type in SiiRepair in google play should be top of the list by helioz
it worked for me when i had a blank imie...really easy.... then used his GalaxySUnlock and same it worked first time.
Only thing i did and would not reccomend is the kies or phone software update because this broke the imei again and now i cant get it back ?? the repair dont work anymore,
First thing is back up your EFS folder onto your ext sd card good luck
