Any ideas on when 7.8 will be released and if so if any developers plan on porting it over to the arrive?

When it is out, you will see it for the Arrive. Until then......

Windows phone 8 is not getting released till late October as Microsoft just finished cooking it themselves.. So the 7.8 update will probably not come out for us till Nov, or Dec..(hopefully if by then).
But if you are unlocked, the rom has been ported to the Arrive in the developers area.. Flash at your own risk though.. still some bugs.

QKr3i0s , but if you read the comments, you see that it (version 1.4) is a (very) stable /daily driver rom

I wonder whether it pays to upload this ROM. This ROM is only new start screen?

you can use the tutorial i wrote, link in my signature. do not use any of the Schubert ROMs and / or Radios, though!

Yeah, I used ansar's for about a week before switching back to sianto; I just liked the style better. But I figured I'd give the link anyway, because YMMV.

i'm was also running it on my HTC arrive, its amazingly good i'm now running version 1.6 and i have not noticed any bugs compared to the stock 7.5 rom.

I've actually noticed improvements (anti-bugs?): with the original, came-with-the-phone OS, that feature, that is supposed to add YouTube videos that you've watched (using the Microsoft-supplied plugin/app), among other videos/music/hub plugins to the history in the Music+Videos hub? Never worked. With sianto's v1.6, that happens. My lyrics program now adds the song that I just got lyrics for to the list.

Hi All,
I am trying to install custom Kitkat based ROM on Samsung Galaxy S3, the question is, which ROM is better and most stable, and eats less battery ?
I tried Cyanogenmod and Hypermax, CM is light but its corporate mail has an issue like, when i go to sent folder, it shows all "From" which is me, and hence it makes it difficult to search emails.
Hypermax is little heavy, and keeps on crashing very frequently.
Any suggestions on a stable and light ROM ?

I just tried "Blekota S5 Lite ROM for Galaxy S3 (I9300)", as of now it is looking good. will let you know in a day or two how it performs.

The one you have suggested, i am just going through the posts and the features. It is looking very interesting, and feature rich. Lets see, may be i will flash this one next on my phone.

I finally installed Sensation ROM 7.0, but the issue is Camera does not work, so removed it.

Tried OmniROM? Very stable, and easy to update (OTA via the Rom, so convenient)

Camera doesn't work? never had this issue, did u select the S5 camera on AROMA? if yes that's why cuz it's unstable yet..
Anyways i switched to AOSParanoidAndroid 4.4.4 smooth, stable, supports OTA, theme engine and it's very lite on RAM witch means better overall PERFORMANCE includes gaming.
You should give it a try if u like Stock Android experience

I too like stock Android, but the issue i have a small issue on the email front:
I have to use corporate email on my phone, and when i configure that using ActiveSync , it does sync all my email. Only issue is in the sent items, i see only my name , which is "From" field.
I could not figure out an option for this, so had to get away with that ROM.
If you have figured out some solution of it, do let me know as well.

[Q] Cyanogenmod 11 With Whatsapp

Hi,
Recently I tried installing the Cyanogenmod using 4 different versions. The first one by the installer given by the website and the next 3 using ClockWorkMod app with the last 3 snapshot versions starting from the 16 Sept one and moving downwards.
All installations failed to connect to WhatsApp when I am on mobile network even though I can still surf the internet on my web browser and access Play Store. Once I am connected back to wifi, the WhatsApp will be working again.
Anyone experiences this and have a solution?

Looks like the problem is with your network provider rather than the Rom itself ..

See if whatsapp works on other ROMs for you like purity or slim. I use lots of ROMs and have never had a problem with whatsapp

Thanks for your reply. However, when I install back the stock android, I am able to use my WhatsApp as per normal using LTE connection.
Hope this clarifies the situation.

Did you try Gravity Box? I know the dev recently added (within the last couple months) compatibility with the Dual SIM Moto G. I can remove it on my Moto G 4G LTE.

From your screenshots, it doesn't look like you are running stock. Are you running a custom ROM? If so, that would explain why GB isn't fully functional. It is only designed to work with stock Android AOSP (and the Dual SIM Moto G stock ROM).

Oh that explains it, i'm on Cyanogen..
So there's really nothing i can do? I'm aware decompiling framework.res and that stuff would do it, but i don't have such skill

Try my module. It's working for stock but may be for CM as well. At least give a try.

I still have unlimited data on my plan. I tether every now and then on the go.

Can someone please try downloading "CREDIT KARMA" from the app store and see if you can? For some reason its telling me its incompatible with my device on this ROM.

I can't, it says its not compatible with my device so it won't let me download it.

I'm on FluentRom v1.1.3 and I used the data trafic indicator to change the LTE to say 4G. I now have kb/s in my notification. Is there away to get this to go away @andybones told me to move my post here

you don't want the MOD, so stop choosing it..
and yes you WILL still have 4G icon.
sorry if this comes off harsh it isn't meant to be.
but think about it
you don't want this MOD, yet you continue to choose it in the MOD Pack?
Choose ONLY what you want.
The 4G Icon I FIXED no matter what you choose, why you think the data indicator has anything to do with data SIGNALS
you are getting confused by the data indicator MOD and data signals..
stop choose data indicator.

What firmware is everyone using? I'm on the S-Rom 5.0 firmware. It seems ok, but I noticed recently while driving it has a hard time grabbing an LTE signal after dropping down to 1X. My daughter was with me and her G2 maintained its LTE signal without dropping. Thanks.

HTC Car App
Running v. 1.1.3, has anyone else had any force closes with the car app? I'm using the firmware in the OP. I get force closes on both 1.13. and the prior v. 1.1.1. I'm wondering if the newest v.2 might help? I had to download another car app from another vendor.

Or just pull the Telephony.apk and push/flash however you prefer instead.
It 100% is tested and fixed.

I flashed the mod pack v. 9, but still get the "Unfortunately, the HTC MirrorLink has closed" on exit from the car app.
