Galaxy S compatible 1800mah battery for $20

Hello there, Mesmerize people! Visitor from the Vibrant forums here. We found and tested an 1800mah battery that, while intended for the Epic Touch 4G, fits and works perfectly in the Galaxy S and all it's variants. I've personally tested it in a Samsung Fascinate and a Samsung Vibrant. The Fascinate was a tighter fit than the Vibrant, but the battery door closed just fine.
I've personally tested the battery over the past week and it lasts significantly longer than the default 1500mah battery (I'm a relatively new Vibrant user, so my battery is only a couple months old). The math seems to match up with the 1800mah claim. To be clear, this isn't as surprising as it would be if this were a random Chinese ebay battery. This battery is made by Samsung for the Epic Touch 4G. It's noticeably thicker than the stock Galaxy S battery, but not so thick that the battery door on the Vibrant and Fascinate won't close completely.
The battery can be found here:

I spent quite a bit of time trying to find the best 3rd party battery for my phone, and lo and behold, the best one comes from Samsung itself.
If you'd like to read more than just my humble opinion, here is a link to the thread started in the Vibrant forum:

Hope this information is helpful. Enjoy your Galaxy S!
I did a brief search on this particular Galaxy S variant. Something having to do with it being like the Fascinate and having issues with charging? Maybe I read it wrong, but if that's the case, I'm personally having no issues charging the phone using USB, though I prefer to use a wall charger.
update compatibility with Epic Touch 4G batt
New to forums so plz be patient...
I did try the 1800mah battery for the Samsung Epic Touch 4G suggested in original post on my stock (not yet rooted) Samsung Mesmerize with Gingerbread 2.3.4. It does indeed fit although the back cover is pressed tight up against the battery and requires a little more firm pressure to secure the back cover. So it is a tight fit, but does absolutely fit.
The problem is, the phone Refused to Charge! It does turn on and does work just fine with the Epic Touch 4G battery, but when charger cable is plugged in a window pops up saying "unable to charge non-standard battery". Dang...
Perhaps some of the roms other than stock will work, removing the software battery check, but the stock phone will not charge this battery
This is my first post to a forum in a while so if i failed to follow some etiquette, let my know.
And thanks to all the hard working people out there who have been contributing to this excellent resource on XDA!!

Samsung Skyrocket Battery Upgrade

Was browsing around looking for a new case for my Skyrocket. Ended up at this site, which appears to be very good. Reading input regarding extended life batteries, could not help myself so joined up to give you recent experience. Was doing the usual charge it every 8 hours with my new phone. Online found, received and overly impressed with my new 3500mah extended battery. Received it two days ago; had 60% upon receiving. Per instructions, charged it to 100% and unplugged. Next step is to totally drain until it shuts off (still working on that today - 530pm and still at 57%) then recharge to 100% plus 3 hours extra on charger. There are no side affects from this battery as it replaces the factory and is a one battery system, just over sized. I am and was looking for a new case that will fit the over sized battery. When you buy the battery for 29.99 it comes with a back cover that accommodates the over sized battery. Got it at accessoryswamp.com. FYI=(3500MAH Extended Life Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket Battery,BAT-0018-GS2RKT,1,$29.99) Still looking for silicon type battery cover though; any help appreciated. Hope this helps in battery buying decisions.

I, too, purchased my extended battery for the Skyrocket from Accessory Swamp and have been pleased with its performance that lasts at least 10 hours daily with Bluetooth activated. Hope to find a case for it.

GS4 Extended Battery Recommendations Please

Hi all,
Looking at maybe getting an extended battery for my S4, but I want to keep it as slim as possible, while also being worthwhile having though, no point something with a useless battery gain
I really like the design of this one where the phone sort of 'slots' in for two reasons:
1. I think you can use the original battery as well as the extended?
2. I like the way it doesn't look like it will add too much thickness

Only thing is that has useless reviews
Does anyone have one they would recommend?
Thanks!
I had one similar to that. I don't think it's worth it. It gets hot when it charges and it doesn't feel like I'm getting full extended battery cause charging and using your phone cuts the battery imo. I'd just get a regular extended battery. I have this case it's expensive but I like the size and it does add extra battery. Other than that I was using the hyperion 7200 mah battery for awhile. But the unu is my favorite at the moment because of the size

Thanks for that
Hmm that unu does look quite good, if I'm correct it only adds ~1cm to the phone?
Looks very very nice actually! I think I'm going to leave it though, had a think and I'm always near a computer to charge my phone, or in the car, seems like £40 that can be spent/saved elsewhere
Thanks though

Sorry but that is way too chunky looking for my liking. The Unu looks much more 'original' I'd say
I have just bought the uNu Unity battery case for my Samsung Galaxy S4 (August 2014) and I am very impressed with it. Coming from an Exogear Exolife Battery case (which I already like - bought it last year around November), the uNu Unity Battery Case is a significant improvement. I got back my full functionality of the USB port, which is compromised when you use a traditional battery case that piggybacks your phone on an external battery via the microUSB port (the battery case USB port is usually not data-capable - charge only). I also noticed a significant increase in battery life. With the Exolife Battery case, I use my Galaxy S4 for around 10 hours on a typical day before switching on the Battery case to charge the phone (around 15-20% charge remaining). The phone gets hot while charging and I only get it charged up to around 60-70% capacity before the battery case runs out of juice. Obviously having the phone on while charging from an external battery pack is not the most efficient mode of charging, so I get an additional 6-8 hours of moderate use out of the phone with the Exolife battery case.
With the uNu Unity battery case, I was able to use my phone for 19 hours (more than adequate to a typical day) with the battery life at 60% after that time. The last time I was able to use a smartphone with this kind of battery life was my old Palm Treo 650 which lasted 3 days on a charge for me...
Overall, I am very impressed with this battery case. The uNu Unity battery case works like an extended battery without the ugly backplate that typically comes with extended batteries. And you get to keep your NFC functionality since the NFC antenna of the Galaxy S4 is part of the battery. Also, unlike the Exolife battery case, the NFC signal is not blocked by the external battery part of the case so it remains functional.
There is some creakiness to the case when you handle it, but when I removed and re-installed the battery case, I managed to fiddle with it so that all its clips engaged properly, making the gap between the backplate and the new bezel flush, thus minimizing, if not eliminating the creakiness of the case.
And compared with the Exolife Battery case, the Unu Unity battery case is shorter and thinner as well.

Anyone got extended battery for this mobile phone??

I got one on ebay. The battery comes fast but it shown 100% charge during the first time usage. But drain out too fast. I use this extended battery and made my phone as thick as a brick. The battery life didn't works like it stated. So sad!! Anyone can suggest one to me???
just use the samsung one with the charging kit, its really portable, theres a carrying case for the battery, and doesn't add much space in your pocket, especially if you're a guy. and makes the phone so much silmmer. and actually lasts long like the one the comes with the phone.
Don't go with no-name, cheap batteries, not because of horror stories like batteries exploding and whatnot, but because simply you will not get a product that performs anywhere near the claimed capacity.
Personally, I only see 3 options at the moment:
1. Get the Samsung battery kit, that comes with an extra genuine battery and an external charger/carrying case for it. That way, you don't add bulk to an already large phone and you have extra piece of mind with 100% extra juice.
2. Get an extended battery like the Mugen battery. It is pricey, but offers wireless charging capabilities as well as leaving NFC fully functional. I am currently testing a unit and it seems to indeed double battery life, like it's supposed to. I went from 4 hours SOT to 8.5 hours during the first charge cycle.
3. Get an even bigger extended battery like the Zerolemon one. It makes the phone huge, but also comes with a rugged protective case with port covers and an in-built screen protector. It can give you 3 times battery life you get from stock battery, although I haven't used it myself so I cannot confirm or deny.
I hope I helped you!
First ZeroLemon sucks. Had 2 they both went back. What battery did u use?

Best third party battery for S4 i9505

Hello,
I am looking to replace an OEM Samsung battery in my Galaxy s4 i9505 that has finally bit the dust. I tried the RAVPower battery but it didn't support NFC like the Amazon listing claimed (returned at no charge thankfully).
All I want is a NFC capable battery that lasts as long as a new Samsung one would (if they still made them lol) and can work with Android Pay (running LineageOS with it already installed and ready to go).
I've read some good things about Anker batteries and they seem to meet my needs. Can anyone provide their experiences with them? Are they good batteries? If not, what is a good brand?
Anker and Zerolemon seem to be very popular.
also craftman batteries are really nice and almost the same as original
Just an update. I went with the Anker battery after. NFC works perfectly and battery life is almost as good as a brand new OEM battery (lasts all day under normal usage). Can't complain!

Its an absolute shame that ZeroLemon stopped making the 3000mah battery for the S4 years ago. On amazon they where offering TWO for the price of one PLUS a dual charger deck for I think $15 and like an idiot I didn't buy it, before I knew it, they where sold out and completely disappeared from everywhere including eBay overnight!
I ended up buying the 5200mah Anker battery, which without a doubt is a top battery, never had a problem and lasted at least 8 hours without needing a charge with GPS and screen on throughout. But it was bulky as hell and the back cover was really ugly. However most companies sorted out their battery cover designs in the S5/S6 and above.
For me Anker was better than original.
Hi,
Recently bought a new battery for the I9505 and went with the manufacturer Yanec. From what i can find it is a Dutch company, at least the website redirects to a Dutch website.
It has 2600 mAh, lasts for about 8 hours playing some games, GPS turned off, NFC turned on. Paid around 23 euro for it and i am very satisfied. (How can i not be, my last original battery held charge for 2 min lol)
