Hi!
I'm using xposed, added the Sense 5 Toolbox (2.1.1), has some great mods to customise the UI to your liking - haven't had any issues at all....
If anybody hasn't checked out Power Toggles, do it! Really handy for adding a toggle bar to the notification drop down, save using quick settings....

First time flasher here! I've just completed the install of tr1gg3r84's ONE-HYBRID and CWM
Since the rom didn't come with Xposed, I will try to install it on top of it. Will follow the instructions from here: Xposed original thread and then the HTC specific instructions.
Will report my progress

No, just downloaded and installed the apk. I'm s-off though.
I'm just unlocked and rooted, no S-OFF. Only installed the APK and I have no issues with the Xposed uninstalling upon reboot. I have rebooted like three times now and it's still install.
I can confirm. Xposed is working as intended
No luck with the HKThemeManager though. But I'm not surprised since it seems to be intended for AOSP based roms.
I've been using it since I flashed the Hybrid rom, works great.
it works in CM11 also. (FYI)
XPosed Modules that i use in my One Mini
I am using Stock ROM Kitkat 4.4.2, Sense 5.5. XPosed Modules that i use and working are:
- Sense Toolbox
- XuiMod (Awesome animation)
- Unicon (If you want to use icon pack, not free though)
- Ice Cube (Part of Mikanoshi's Ice Cave Sound Mod)
- Bootmanager
- Gravitybox (Well not all feature, Extended Desktop and Custom Navigation Ring target worked with a little trick, but that's all i need from gravitybox)
Sense toolbox is really useful, I now prefer sense to aosp roms

s-on, Android 4.4 with Sense6 (stock, rooted, xposed installed).
Sense6Toolbox installed.
The only tweaks I do are 'flashlight when holding the power button' and using the volume buttons for the camera.
Then I disable Blinkfeed,
and use root and TitaniumBackup to freeze a whole bunch of bloatware I don't want (google+, facebook, twitter, instagram, htc stocks, etc..).
And I don't think I'll ever feel the need to go without Sense now. Since it's now just a basic launcher it works fine, maybe even better than the modern Google Now launcher.
So yeah, xposed seems to work fine. Since I'm s-on and had a stock kernel it couldn't write itself to /system, to it created a flashable .zip to do so from recovery. This flashed (and worked) fine, you just have to pay attention where it is the file is stored on your internal storage (had to look a bit ).

I'd like to stay mostly stock but there a few small feautures I miss from prior devices ROMs.
Most of the ROMs I have looked at on here are pretty far from stock.
Are there any that are close to stock?

I was running a stock rom with just xposed and gravity box for quite some time. It gives you ability to make a lot or just a little enhancements. It might be just what you need.
Another vote for stock plus xposed framework. Everything you want and nothing you don't
Sent from my Nexus 5
I agree. I am running Cataclysm which is very close to stock. Might be one to check out if you want a new ROM. But xposed with gravity box gave me pretty much all the same features that I used from cataclysm.
Might be better to post this in the Q&A section next time.
But yeah Xposed framework might help you out.

+1 for Xposed AND +1 for Cataclysm ROM.
Used and enjoyed both, stuck with Cata personally for the SmartRadio feature the Author includes :3. Art compatibility is nice too.
Thanks everyone!!
I am currently looking into both options.
Did some googling and didn't find much on SmartRadio, could you clue me in?

It's basically some logic built into the rom to control your 2g/3g/4g and Wifi connections. Automatically disable, enable, that sort of thing. You can do the same with apps, Tasker, scripts, probably Xposed too.

Is there any way to put in the stock rom the nav bar ring that comes with some roms that allows you to make a screenshot with a swipe up, just like going to Google now with the swipe up.

Yes of course. Download the Xposed Installer app first and within that download and install the framework for it, then download the GravityBox KK module, enable it in Xposed and reboot. Wanam module is also good for minor tweaks and changes. AppOpsXposed module will allow you to change individual apps' permissions like not allowing twitter to use location for example.
Cataclysm.

It was plagued with issues to start, just trying to get a flashable zip of the stock ROM together was a nightmare, and since there wasn't one any where on the internet to use as a base, well... had no choice but to make one. I flashed it on my Discover today and it worked flawlessly.
By the way, I didn't make the OC script. It was FitAmp, the credits should go to him.
What launcher did you use? and good job on making a working rom for it, I had been messing around with trying to cook one in the kitchen app for the SS730G. I may give that one a shot with flashing this one, the stock rom on it is having issues anyways as when I try to shut it down it reboots 9 times out of 10.

Launcher pro, the only launcher I will use since I bought my first droid, runs clean and light. There's always the option to change to whatever launcher you like, for me, on this phone, runs the smoothest and that's what I'm going for here. Many changes still to come!
Kitchen is a great tool for learning AS LONG as you take a look at every change you implement with kitchen, in the update or updater script itself. The one thing about it is, that if you fully rely on kitchen, even if it does work, you won't learn a thing. All of the changes kitchen makes, can be made in terminal and text editor (Linux) to give you some hands on experience

I'm partial to the Nova Launcher myself, but I know what you mean. While the stock launcher is better than the standard Samsung Touchwiz crap, it definitely could use a speed increase on this phone.
I keep hoping and dreaming that someone will be able to port KitKat to this phone. I just flashed the current SlimKat rom on my Nexus S and I'm impressed with how fast the Google Now launcher performs on it. Maybe with this one overclocked to 1GHz and it having 512 megs of ram which I think is a little more than the Nexus S had it would make a different.

Kit Kat was built to run on 512mb, from everything I've heard it utilizes memory way better than any other version yet. I'm going to look at porting ROMs to this device, but one project at a time . It should be possible though. Even if I can port a stock 4.4.2 and start customizing from there, I think this phone would benefit tremendously from it, more so then newer more powerful devices.

I flashed my 730G with this rom, so far it looks good. I may switch the launcher to a different one but other than this it looks and appears to run fine. I can't test the radio at the moment as my net10 sim is cut down to nano size and I can't find my regular sim to nano sim adapter. I know I have one but finding it will be the fun part.
Double check the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS etc, make sure they turn on and work. They should as they work fine on the 730m, but you never know. I haven't seen the build.prop for the G

And check your root too. If root works than the rooting process is the same for both. Just open root browser and if it asks for superuser access you're golden. Plan to add terminal and cpu tuner in the next update.

The wi-fi and GPS appear to work fine. I still haven't been able to find my nano to regular size sim adapter. I wound up replacing launcher pro with nova launcher, and I also installed Titanium backup which I used to integrate the google keyboard. After I switched over to it, I froze the samsung keyboard which was a pain in the ass to have to work with. You may want to look into switching the keyboard if you have a preference in a future release. I really like the google keyboard myself.

I've considered switching the default launcher to nova, or I should say I've tried to. I've had issues with everything I've tried, except launcher pro, and lightning launcher. Lighting launcher is actually extremely fast and lightweight, I think the app itself is less the a MB, but its far different than your standard, familiar style of launcher so I opted out. I've tried solo, which is nearly identical to nova, except there's no pro version, all "pro" features are entirely free. I've also tried KK launcher, again very similar to nova, but all three of them will not load after the initial setup screen. Just don't work well as system apps. Loading them into the data partition should solve this problem, but they install with a file size of 0 MB, and again, won't actually load. All of them work fine when installed from the market, or from an apk, just haven't had luck packaging them with the ROM. I'll look into the keyboard thing. I prefer Swype, but given it's a paid app, I can't really incorporate it, and I don't want to just include a 30 day trial app in the ROM. I'll keep plucking away at it tho. Thanks a ton for your input
Sent from my SGH-T989D using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
ok I just wiped it and went thru setup, it worked with no issues with the samsung keyboard and the nova launcher as system apps. maybe this will help for customizing the rom further? Also it might be a good idea to remove the updater app just to be safe. While I don't think that they would ever push out a rom update for the samsung S730M or S730G it might cause issues if someone who didn't know better used the updater app and downloaded a rom update. It may not be an issue, but I figured it was worth mentioning
I wanted to give an update. I was able to successfully use your rom as a base to make my own custom rom. I had to extract the updater script binary from yours to drop into the appropriate folder in my working folder. I'm going to do a little more fine tuning on what apps I want to include but I should have it ready to share soon.
Also, I finally found my adapter so I was able to read my Net10 sim in my S730G, other than it not having the correct APN which I had to manually enter It worked with no problems once I setup the APN, full signal and no issues with downloading anything once the APN was setup.
OK I've finished the 1.0 version of my rom. it can be found here

There is no Odin flashable ROM for this phone. I do have there stock flashable zips tho. Worst case scenario, you Odin flash recovery, then flash the stock zip via cwm. I've been working on CM 9, and have not been able to get it to work, but no matter how many times I've flashed it, I can always flash back to stock via recovery, haven't bricked yet

I'm new to flashing in general so I am just learning what the process entails, but I just put CM11 onto an N7 '13 and I am very impressed with what people are doing. I also have a sluggish Samsung Discover so I'm very interested in how this work proceeds!
Best of luck everyone and thank you Atmu5fear, hopefully I can share my experience soon as well.
My wife has an original One S which was dropped in sink and now the capacitive buttons dont work.
Are there any roms that can show navigation buttons on screen as per Nexus devices?
And can I root and install rom without capacitive buttons?
Thanks in advance
Yes there is a rom with navigation buttons, it's twistedkat. I don't know if there is any other, i use twisted. And you don't need capacitve buttons to root. Just flash a custom recovery(i recommend twrp 2.7) and flash su binary. To be able to install any of kitkat roms you might need to update your firmware. If you have 2.15 hboot that means your firmware is up to date.
Sent from my One S
You can use any ROM you want, just install the Xposed Framework and GravityBox or XBlast Tools module. Both have the ability to add navigation bar to a ROM even if it's not there. Also most of the KK ROMs have the navbar option in settings (I think CM11 doesn't have it but not sure). TwistedKat, Beanstalk, IOAP, CandyKat, SlimKat...all have it
Thanks, will give those a try.

To be honest, I never tried Xposed with a sense-based ROM. As I know it is working, there's even a dedicated sense Xposed module called Sense 5 Toolbox but I don't know how the modules made for AOSP ROMs work on Sense. Theoretically if they're not conflicting with some ROM functionality, they should work. But I guess this is something you should try and see. Make a nandorid backup in recovery before installing those...just to be on the safe side
The only problem I see here is that Sense was made for HTC Phones. And ALL HTC phones had hardware buttons not on-screen nav bar buttons. The only exception is the newly released HTC One (M8) but that comes with Sense 6 and yes, that has on-screen nav buttons. So dunno if you will find a way to add that to a Sense 5.x
Hard brick
Attempted twistedkat install but had issues in recovery and think I hard bricked it
Details are in the emergency thread in case anyone can save me!

Thanks for all the advice so far
All good now
A decent charge allowed me to get into bootloader and flash the right recovery. twistedkat running well - on screen buttons
Wife test starts soon.....
While listening to Pandora if my phone was to become locked, upon turning the screen on I used to see fullscreen album art from the song playing as my lockscreen. Recently all I see is the regular music controls and the fullscreen album art is gone, how do I get it back?
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
Well I tried all sorts of things to try but couldn't figure it out. Maybe it was a glitch or something? Or a previous version of Pandora that you had? Or a modified one that allowed full screen album art? I've only ever see a 1x4 below my clock on my lock screen.
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using Tapatalk
Well I appreciate you looking into it, maybe Pandora got rid of it on the latest version.
You can enable the AOSP lockscreen by following the instructions here:
http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-to/activate-hidden-aosp-lock-screen-your-htc-one-m8-0154651/
You can use the Sense 6 Toolbox xposed module to restore some motion unlock functionality, but it doesn't work great. If you want to go back to the HTC lockscreen then rename the file back to HtcLockScreen.apk and reboot.
Thank you, that's exactly what I was looking for.

So on that page it mentions a kernel that can be flashed to restore the swipe2wake or knock2wake functionality, however I could only find a kernel available for the HTC One M7 and not the M8. Is there a kernel available for the M8 that will allow for these functions to work with the aosp lockscreen? I know about the Xposed route but I have tried to use some other modules a while back and got errors, had to restore a backup.

Yup. This ROM was ported by Gogollie. This was built with a TouchWiz kernel, that's why it boots, it isn't real GPE without the GPE kernel. Just themed with some AOSP apps.

actually no 3.5 I have never ported. If its davy's ROM still its probably Stock International Wanam ROM Build with KNOX and other crap cleaned up with options to install AOSP apps by DSA creator of BlackBox another great Hybrid or its 100% TouchWiz with his Domination theme flashed over the top. If you dont know what Domination is in terms of a theme its one of the greatest themes ever made. I miss the option to go white with it sometimes tho. Its themed to look nearly identical to AOSP. Theres other Aroma options to MOD the ROM to act more like AOSP or install AOSP Apps like Calculators, Camera, and stuff. The Aroma installer is pretty nifty and lets you somewhat De-Bloat while installing it.
My newest ROM looks completely different and installs at half the size. Its also a minimal install / beast with speed and battery. I dont know its been posted here but you should be able to use it no problem. with safestrap just flash your modules to get wifi working. and if your at&T you might have to flash an apn patch to replace the apns from /etc directory with your own. or maybe manually entering them would work too. Its nearly all AOSP but yes in order to maintain good data signal, wifi, tethering, usb, etc I had to make a ROM over the TW so the Stock Kernel that most of AT&T/VZW has to run with a locked bootloader would be able to use these features of the phone with no problems. Theres also a "Smoke Weed Everyday"Nate Dogg Audio Clip during shutdown that I accidentally forgot to remove before releasing so if at work or school you might want to delete the file PowerOff.ogg from the /system/media/audio/ui folder you can also replace the file or PowerOn.ogg for startup sound with any mp3 or ogg file just rename it to that file name...

@gigilie This is so nice of you to post! And great to know that there are two additional Roms we can try to further get away from touchwiz. @guut13 have you tested these out/posted them?

I've ran Purified for a long time on the 4.4.2, it's a TouchWiz-based ROM so it works with Safestrap just fine. It's using the Domination AOSP them package, it's a solid rom and I'm happy to see it's update I'll have to switch back.
@guut13 - I'm testing it now ~ I'll let you know how it goes so you can update the index.
