Hey xda! I'm a solo developer in College going for my BS in Computer Science. I worked on this app this summer and put a ton of time and effort into it. I wanted to do a guide for a game which at the time didn't have anything else done for it. Basically I didn't want to be a copycat. So I made a game guide for the popular Steam game Don't Starve.
So far I released the game in late July and have currently 3150+ downloads and 1400 active users. I wanted to post a link and some screenshots of the app here to get some more personal feedback from real devs about my work. What it could mean for me in the future in terms of using it in a job interview, things I could improve upon, and so on! Any feedback is welcome.
Some of the coding things I learned to use in the app were (I taught myself completely how to code in android).
-Sql lite database creation and management for my in app activity search feature
-Android activity structure and file design
-google admob integration of the admob sdk as a marketing tool (helps show that this could be a marketable product).
The app is free to download and only actually has 6 tiny banner ads in it, which I actually use to help track the apps traffic on a daily basis so I know which of the main pages users go to the most so I can focus on those when updating.
DISCLAIMER (I don't know how this works for free dev posts if I have ads in this, in no way am I posting this for monetary gain please don't click the ads. I want real feedback on design for this project!)
Attached are some app screenshots from version 2.81:

This may be an obscure game for some on this forum, like I said its understandable if you haven't played Don't Starve. Just was wondering what you all thought about the design of my first app.
Thanks Tyler

Hi all!
Please note that I'm extremely new to the world of apps and forums like these so if I've done anything that doesn't abide by the rules please let me know and remove this thread if necessary.
The other week I released my first ever app called Junction. Junction is an anonymous social platform integrated into Australian train lines (will be expanding internationally soon).
Here's the description from the store listing:
"Junction is an app that allows you to communicate anonymously with people around you. You can compliment people, start discussion, ask someone a question etc all without putting yourself on the line to potentially be embarrassed.
There is such a stigma attached to cold approaching people that it creates fear when someone is thinking about talking to a stranger. With this app, the potential for embarrassment/fear is removed, which leads to a higher potential for social interactions between future friends/possible significant others.
Also, it allows for a new, unique way to spend your time on the train.
Meet people, share ideas, create a community."
Here is the link to the free version: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.socialinfotech.creation.junctionAdv
If you guys want (and could tell me how) I can offer the paid version at a heavily discounted price for you all if that will help to get more people to download it and hopefully rate it high on Google Play.
Here's a few screenshots:

P.S Chat rooms are a bit empty at the moment, but once more people start to hear about/use the app the more enjoyable it will be
Well hello there fellow member!
My name is Carbon Apps ... well that's my username. Anyways I would like to introduce my first game for Android "Meteor Crush" developed using Corona SDK and the lua programming language.
Meteor Crush
It has been a long journey creating this game and a very humbling learning experience in not just programming but graphic design using photoshop CS6, audio formatting, and many nights spent debugging. You'll need focus to reach new heights in this game as it gradually changes pace. I recommend using two thumbs during gameplay, but I have seen some play with only one hand! and reach highscores with there other worldly hand eye coordination (freaks of nature I call em). Here are a few screenshots and I'll post the play store link below them.

hey there,
Looks like an nice and simple Solitaire. Going give it a try It really reminds me of Microsoft Casual games on Windows OS.
You mentioned that you don't have insterstitials in your app. How are you monetizing it then?

Hello everyone, nice to meet you all!
I'm here to introduce you to an app called Board.
Board is a FREE job search app that helps anyone find their best fitted job, and is the perfect tool for companies to find the right talent.
You can create a post to introduce yourself, talk about your experiences and skills, and also what position you are looking for in a company. Your post can be seen by hundreds of companies, and any company manager can chat with you by tapping on your post.
If your company is hiring, post the job here. People can chat you directly and you can view their profiles. You can screen them on the spot to find the perfect candidates.
To make posts more relevant, all posts are automatically sorted to show the nearest. Your posts are also displayed on the map for convenience.
It’s simple! If you’re either looking for a job or hiring, you only have to:
1. Create a post, describe what you are looking for.
2. You will be notified if someone is interested.
3. Start chatting!

Hi guys,
It's Alessio Merello here, social manager for AnyPark, a young startups made by young italian developers.
We work online at developing an app that will make parking your car a smart and social experience.

AnyPark is a social network where users can share the expiration of their stop on a parking spot, in order to make it visible to the users of a community that will make drivers save money and time.
As today every kind of content has it's own platforms to share it into, we made one to share a strange but useful information, which is the expiration of our stay on a parking spot.
Each time you help a user you won't just contribute to the community but you will get credits for buying coupons on our dealers: like a discount on a carwash or on the insurance of your car.
We're a non-stop-working team and always looking for bugs and new features to be added: we already implemented some smart features to improve the user experience.
Worth mentioning:
- Google maps API
- Find my car
- A new way of quick chatting between users
- Street view API to sneak into the place we're looking for
- Navigator by Google, and no directions will be miss
The app is completely free and adfree cause we're not branded or sponsored by anyone, just working on our project ourselves.
What we ask is to share this app and help us feeding this community.
From all the team, i want to thank you in advance for the time you're dedicating us here, and hope you'll enjoy the app.
AnyPark, parking made social!
