I think I do not have time to update my 7comp ROM. This is the reason why I started this post to offer unofficial builds of AOKP ROM on Android 4.3 / 4.4 !
What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.

great! have 4.3, but camera not work.

For now this is the same device tree as CM 10.2, so with the same bugs

It wasn't pleasant to me! ! !
Antutu Bencmark showed results worse several times!

Nice, a new ROM! :victory:

Gooooooood, was waiting for this one..
Will the camera be fixed, have you a way of fixing it ?

I think the camera issue is related to the Storage/mount problem.
I will have to look at it deeper, but for now I'm very busy, hard to find the time

Seems to work smoothly
Hey there
I just installed this AOKP ROM and it seems to work smoothly...
Ok, there is a problem with the storage (no ext SD Card found) but instead of the 7comp ROM there is no flickering and any other problems yet. So if you get the storage problem fixed, this rom would be perfect!
Greetz,
Alex

Seems that many people got problemes mounting the SD card in the last month, seems to be a general problem in CM 10.2 ...
Don't know which sources you used, but perhaps this has been fixed now.

We have a good working build now. I'll be making the A510 official from here on out so look out for nightlies.

this is great news

For now, I just built a new version based on my device tree for CM 10.2
Let me know if it works great (I will try it when I found the time)

this rom is awesom!!!!! but i don't find my file on sd card, is hidden or what? My old rom is stock

Looks very promising. I had given up all hope on custom roms for the A510 since the last release of FrankenROM. But now we have 4.3.1 and if I read it well we even have loud sound!
I am gonna try it soon. Any news about official AOKP?

Grab a logcat right after the problem has occurred. (Please include at least a few pages of the log, not just the last few lines, unless you know what you're doing.)
If it is a random reboot, grab /proc/last_kmsg. (Do not bother getting a logcat unless you can get it just before the reboot. A logcat after a reboot is useless)
Remember to provide as much info as possible. The more info you provide, the more likely that the bug will be solved. The following is a useful format to follow. Note: If you can provide the latest night/build that the bug didn't exist, it would greatly help in tracking down what caused it.

Okay, thank you. I installed the ROM and I must say it is very stable for an expirimental. However I have problems with root, I don't get the prompts I used to get when doing something requiring root. Secondly I noticed that photosphere (focal) doesn't work, but at least it doesn't crash. Also vocals image quality is not great and in panorama mode is very buggy. But I think thats because focal is still in beta. I'll try to find a solution to the root issue. Otherwise great ROM, thank you.
good work shreps, and enjoy your vacation
I actually have the root issue as well. If you find a solution please share it here.
Edit: it also seems that Cwm recovery is gone.
can you try to update the su apk with this one : http://download.chainfire.eu/345/SuperSU/UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.51.zip
Isn't superuser by koush supposed to be integrated?
I am afraid that updating the superuser wont help. I get the message to re-root. However we do not have a way to root the device on 4.3...

Impossible to go to storage of the control panel.
Of the blow has me sd extern are not recognized.
The process android.process.media is stopped when I connect the tablet to the pc, and the "A510" is not recognized not it in MTP, PTP, debugging usb...

Q&A
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why don't I have root access after installing OmniROM?
A: OmniROM does not have an official, prebuilt root method yet, so you'll just need to flash SuperSU in recovery and you'll have 100% working root access. SuperSU can be found here: SuperSU
Q: Where is <insert feature here>, like CM/AOKP/PA/etc have??
A: Omni is still very early in development, but moving at an incredibly fast rate. New feature, bug fixes, and device support are added just about daily. Check it out here: OmniROM Gerrit Review for the latest and greatest
Q: How do I start/stop screen recording?
A: Volume UP + Power will start screen recording. Simply drag the notification bar down and click the button to stop.
Q: HALP NFC doesn't work!!
A: We know.
Nice to see a new release, thanks for sharing with us

I did load it up seems to run just fine, missing alot of features I like to use such as hardware keys (custom settings) which is the main thing and the general interface options so I'll wait for some future tweaks.
I'd love to try this but again what are the tweaks in this rom? What do they differ from others and what are the same?

Right now there are less than CyanogenMod, it is very close to stock AOSP at this point, but Gerrit review is overloaded with tons and tons of new features, theres at least one or so new features being merged in daily. Read the articles I posted in the OP for more information on that from the OmniROM team themselves, their philosophy, and future plans
It might be missing some extras, but this is a very solid ROM.
I've only found two minor issues that are probably upstream issues. The capacitive buttons never light up. I'm pretty sure that's a known Omni-wide issue. Secondly, I got root to work, but OpenVPN Installer still says it can't remount /system as rw. I even tried remounting it rw first in root explorer, but it just won't install the OpenVPN binary. I'm guessing that's related to root not being built in.
Battery life seems good given how much I've had the screen on (50% battery with over 2.5 hours of screen on).
Overall, great job, Jake!

Huh? Recovery is NOT built into the kernel for this device. Its in a different partition of its own. There is no compiling TWRP over CMW for this device. Recovery needs to be compiled separately if you're trying to compile your own. Just look in the device repos.

@srisurya95,
currently i am using pac-man 4.4.4 unofficial build by @Niropa.
with his overkill kernel i do not have any screen flickering issues on lollipop bootloader.
do we have any screen flickering issues if we install this on lollipop bootloader?
i am very sorry as i am low on internet usage now i cannot test it myself.
also if you add some features from pac-man rom it would be greatly appreciated.
i know you are working on M to bring it for falcon. but just wanted to ask your little more work on this CM11.
please dont mind.
Download link in op is broken ...I updated it...here is the new one

This is pure cm with cm kernel
I don't think I have to waste my time in developing a KitKat ROM at this moment (I mean with features)
Thanks for your hard work and I'm wating for your "M"
@srisurya95
What about cm11 screen flickering issues on lollipop bootloader because my internet is kinda slow to first download and then again move back to official

Has anyone tested it? My main concern is the black screen issue from the cm13 thread of surnia. I would test it but I just have 500mb remaining in my data plan till 31st.

Fixed,
Sorry for the issue.

I have a good feeling about lte in this build. Maybe it will work. Im on a sprint xt1526, (Surnia). Lte Still doesn't work for sprint users. 3g does though.
Just tested rom on XT1521. Black screen bug on startup still exists.Couldn't move ahead of welcome screen. But hence squid2 has repaired that bug looking forward to this rom
P.S. Cool Bootanimation and thanks a lot Vatsal from Otus to Surnia tusi cha gaye XD

That is easily fixable. Take the boot img from the latest cm 13 ROM by openhacker, and flash it in twrp after doing a full wipe and installing the ROM. That's how I fixed the black screen issue.
Flashed this 12/25 with squid r12 running nice so far.

I wonder if LTE will ever be fixed for the cdma variants? Oh well, at least 3g works. Better than nothing at all.
A new surnia build is online
Download
It contains the blackscreen fix, also it is synced with latest tree, kernel updates.
Happy flashing and a very happy weekend!
Only way I could get WiFi to put airplane mode.. And reboot...

Hey there,
I am not able to flash unofficial CM13 on my surnia XT1524. I always get the message:
system-partition has unexpected contents after OTA-update
in RED: Error executing updater binary in zip '(Zipname of the unofficial cm13 from 26.12.)'
Also the same message after wiping system .
Whats going wrong there?
actual Buildnumber: LXI22.50-53.8
Systemversion: 22.46.8.surnia_retde.retdeall.en.DE retde (5.0.1)

It could be a serious problem and not many solutions are known about fixing that problem but here is one you can try...
If you are able to boot up toYour old rom, then first backup everything to your sdcard.
Then remove your sd card and reboot to recovery.
Select factory reset. Then put in your SD card.
Reboot back to recovery and then try flashing again.
Hope that it will work.
Thanks for your reply. But I tried everything. Tried with zips on internal memory, on SD card, tried wiping everything right before flashing.
Nothing worked.
I am using latest TWRP (r5)
Im using twrp 2.8.7.0

CyanogenMod is based on the Android Open Source Project with extra contributions from many people within the Android community. It can be used without any need to have any Google application installed. Linked below is a package that has come from another Android project that restore the Google parts. CyanogenMod does still include various hardware-specific code, which is also slowly being open-sourced anyway.
The source code for CyanogenMod is available in the CyanogenMod Github repo. And if you would like to contribute to CyanogenMod, please visit our Gerrit Code Review. You can also view the Changelog for a full list of changes & features.

F2FS is working just fine (haven't rebooted once however)
My nexus 7 is also running pretty well and changing the DPI wasn't an issue. I rebooted multiple times and nothing is corrupted! Awesome ROM! ^^ Performance in Shooty Skies is better since there's only very minimal lag.

Just wondering, will this support the 3.4 kernel when it's out? Could Slim Recents be installed somehow?
There's only one issue.. the camera isn't working. The app can't connect to it.

Yessss
Can't install Gapps
Using TWRP 2.8.7.0 I factory reset, install the rom but when I try to flash open gapps 6.0 nano it fails with insufficient system storage. Any idea what is wrong?

I would suggest using pico gapps if nano doesn't work. Pico works fine for me..

Factory reset may not be required depending on what rom you are coming from. Did you wipe /system? Nano worked for me.

Thanks, pico worked. I was coming from cm12.1 and did try wiping system, but still got insufficient space with nano.
Thanx a lot for this build! Is it able to update using cmupdater? It is the first mm build i think to migrate from OrionLP. Orion was the best for me among lp builds
