Build Quality
It still plastic, but solid build and feel, the back faux leather given up a lot of points here.
Thanks finally Samsung decide use back similar look of Galaxy S II, now it look as beauty as it is.
I find the best design and build quality ever release by Samsung in Android.
Display
If I said before Sony Xperia Z Ultra is the greatest screen panel I ever use, I gonna said this Note 3 is far even better than it.
Extreme great viewing angle, only slighly color shift in extreme narrow angle.
They is no single light bleed issue with solid pure Black level, because simply it is AMOLED.
The white balance is as accurate as I ever seen, beside iPhone.
Well control vividness, don't have single over saturation issue. I am using Adapt display Screen mode.
They is no single black crush issue at all, I notice all video playback here is much better than Xperia Z Ultra. Now I agree on Erica Griffin talk, nowsday actually a lot manufacture over punching up the vividness in LCD, which make the black crushing more than AMOLED. Samsung give big credit here. 1st time I can proudly said AMOLED is far better than LCD, even the highest end IPS panel LCD.
Camera
The camera quality is just simply stunning, well control white balance, outstanding contrast level.
Output is sharp and details with nice vividness which not over, and no dull color issue.
Night mode - Smart Stabilisation is well done for snapping in dark scenario.
The only issue found is they will be some line crossing over the screen flickering when you try hardly focusing in object at dark area.
Loud Speaker
It is louder than Note II but I find it is more high pitch, thus I give Note II speaker is better. But this does not means the speaker is lousy, it still perform perfectly well.
Performance
This is 2nd Snapdragon 800 unit I use, overall all benchmark is performing better than my 1st S800 device - Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
I notice Samsung had well done the anti aliasing part for 3D gaming, it look so smooth compare with Sony Xperia Z Ultra.
Overall the phone is speedy, but still got improvement for smooth animation. Certain part still not really smooth enough, example opening up folder that contains more than 8 apps inside.
Note 3 perform much warmer than Z Ultra but still under control. Hopefully next firmware will getting better similar temperature level by Z Ultra.
Bundle Features
Too many to list down all. I am going just highlight certain features I like the most.
TripAdvisor - Samsung Edition is just simply awesome given you different Lock Screen wallpaper in 3 hours cycle time or more.
New S Pen features is useful, especially the New Air command - Action Memo.
One-handed operation - Use for all screens - the best one-handed operation feature, this is not something new and Samsung didn't advertise it at all, if not wrong, I seen it being implement by LG before at LG Optimus G Pro.
As usual, all Air gesture bought over from S4 is as gimmick as it be, I turn it all off here.
My Magazine - idea from HTC Blink Feed, but I find it more well design that it, too bad not support Facebook.
Benchmark result
I am happily with it, the 2nd stable device I use in year 2013 beside the solid stable Sony Xperia Z. No regret selling off the not so stable Sony Xperia Z Ultra and getting this. Proudly said Samsung still did the best Phablet in market so far.
Samsung S View Flip Cover | Short Review
S View Features is awesome, I can direct capture square photo for instagram and etc.
Direct playback song, too bad cannot select album.
Direct answer call and call back miss call, too bad cannot direct dial others contacts.

Samsung Galaxy GEAR | Short Review
Pros:
The final retail unit interface run extremely smooth and fast, not like during demo unit I try out on 25/Sept which is lagging as those preview.
Camera quality is fantastic awesome.
The build is solid, light to wear, no heat issue.
Cons:
Third party app icon look ugly as no match with it.
Big issue - All voice chat is dead, no sound once GEAR connected, include Whatsapp, LINE & WeChat.

Nice review and pictures. I have the S800 model myself but haven't got the chance to go out on a beautiful day and take much pictures.

Thanks.
You shall try out the camera as it seems some user getting the defective unit. Is better try it out.
User report camera output is bad - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2459647
With me, Note 3 build quality is not good for me. I tested on Live Demo unit: bezel is quite easy to scratch. There is no change in back cover joints.
The good news: I can replace bezel easily for 10$.
Touchscreen response improved not too much, still not good as S4.
thanks for the short review. hope to hear more from you.
btw, photos are amazing!

Which prepaid provider got 4G or LTE in Kuching. Do you know?
Notice you are getting H+ in your area. You must be in KL.
I see you never have a HTC phone. I have always used HTC phone. I will/might do Samsung in the future.

As I know, no prepaid support 4G.
Only postpaid with minimum 1GB or 2GB Data subscription.

Oh you from Kuching, I long time never go there. I not from KL, I just went KL to buy my Note 3 due to no choice, as to get the Free Gear (I win it), must buy at MidValley, KL.

I from Johor actually, now work at Johor Bahru. JB still really weak on LTE, not much area got LTE line yet.
Yeah! Finally get my contest winning Samsung Galaxy GEAR - Mocha Gray.

I don't have S4. Can't compare.
The Note 3 loud speaker loud enough but not as strong deep as Note II. Note 3 much higher pitch.

Hey all,
It seems that both the iphone 4 and the captivate have a 5mp camera. However, there are 2 Huge differences that i have noticed.
1st. The gallery on the iphone allows you to double tap a photo to zoom in, but it also refocuses the image turning it incredibly clear. The captivate allows the double taping, but it does not refocus the image
2nd. The iphone 4 camera appears to be much sharper than my captivate, edges seem smoother and overall quality seems much clearer. The captivate seems like it has a white distortion to it.
I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I love the captivate but i'm on a "vacation" with the parents and i keep switching to iphone because of its amazing camera quality. Maybe there are settings that i'm not inputting, or maybe another app i should try?
Camera Settings on captivate:
Focus Mode: Auto focus
Timer: Off
Resolution: 2560x 1920
White balance: Auto
Effects: Normal
ISO: Auto
Metering: Centre-weighted
Image Quality: Superfine
1st. the gallery as in gallery of photos already taken? because it is impossible to refocus a picture you have already taken. although the captivate if you tap the screen while your taking a picture it will focus on that area for you
2nd. could be, never compared them myself
He means when you zoom in abd its blurred, the iphone fixes it.
The iPhone 4 has got the captivate beat in terms of camera quality. I think even the 3G (not even 3GS) is better than the captivate. I seldom take pictures as do the majority of people I assume. Its not really too important as long as it takes decently clear pictures. No phone can really take the place of a cheap point and shoot camera yet (and I mean current popular phones, not those weird cameras with phones built in.)
The camera quality is definitely somewhat of a bummer even though its acceptable. The worst part is that the camera has a large red blotch in the center if its in anything less than optimal lighting. It can only really be seen when pointing at a white wall though.
Yeah this phone is only good for its small size, screen, processor, and video chip. Everything else it does courtesy of Google. Samsung could very well have produced the perfect phone if they spent as much time as apple did, but I would say the Epic 4G is pretty close.
I disagree.
IPhone 4 > Captivate > 3GS > 3G
But almost any decent point and shoot is far better than any of them.
Sent from my Samsung Captivate
Hey,
Thanks soo much for the quick replies. I've come to learn that the camera on the captivate is very tempramental, sometimes the shots look incredible and others it can be pretty horrific. Sunset photos are much much better on the captivate than on the iphone which is a nice plus.
Another question i have that sort of pretains to this topic is about the gallery itself. If you take photos with the camera and save them to the phone they show up in gallery with the most recent photos in front. If you use the camera and take photos but save them to the SD card, they show up with the most recent photos in the back. Is there anyway to fix that?
P.S. I just recently learned (and accomplished) flashing the JH2 rom to my device!! i'm stoked
Thanks again
When I compare my wife's iphone to my gs, my pictures do stuck compared to it. Not to mention the iphone has a light. But, when it comes to video capture, the gs is better.

I'm almost inclined to agree, some videos do come out amazing on the captivate and others not so much. But at least with videos there is a close comparison, the photos are no where near eachother though
The iPhone has an amazing camera, honestly, I'm not to disappointed in losing to it, I new it probably would going into it. To me lower quality camera is far out weighed by the higher quality OS.
I've also noticed that a lot of Captivate video seems better than iP4 video. Aside from a sharper, lesser noise picture, the iPhone seems to exibit some jellyfishing where the Captivate does not.
I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE the captivate's camera. Definitely a step up from my old bold 9700s. Here is a picture I took in the rain b&w to make it dramatic lol:

iphone4 has hands down the best mobile phone camera. It takes the best videos and photos easily surpass any other phone. It has to do with their "backlit" sensor. Each pixel on their sensor collects more light than on any phone sensor. There's no two ways about it.
Captivates videos can be good depending on lighting conditions. I wish that had a setting for wind mic however. Not useful if the video is on a boat or in a car.
GSMarena did a very good comparison of the two phones, click next page until your at 'camera comparison'. They gave the galaxy s a better score actually.

GSMArena's review is unprofessional at best. Seriously, it's awfully bad.
The iPhone 4's camera is the best camera on a mobile phone at this time, period; but it does have it's issues.
White balance is auto only and not very good; and many indoor shots, depending on lighting, come far too yellowish.
Compared to the SGS, it has a wider focal range. This is well and good for "panoramic" shots, but it has a smaller macro range (meaning you have to stand further back from small objects to focus on them). This is not really an issue, but mostly a design decision.
As the GSM Arena review states, the metering is fixed in "matrix" mode, which means that unless you manually tap to correctly expose the area you want, it won't always be accurate by default and will be very sensible to change depending on what enters the frame.
Video on the iPhone is leaps and bounds better than video on the SGS, which is soft and lacks bitrate. It also has tap to focus on video which the SGS lacks (why, samsung?). Not to say the SGS's video is crap, but it could be a lot better.
On the other hand, the SGS has a lot of different options for the camera, which makes up for the slightly worse image quality (mostly due to crappier sensor and aggressive software noise reduction). So in the end, you have to decide whether you want a better sensor or more settings to tweak
I have no idea how GSM Arena came to the conclusion that the SGS camera was better. I'ts mind boggling.
As for the flash, to me it's only useful as a flashlight.
I'm happy to see that i'm not just screwing something up on my phone. I've been in a huge switch and swap routine these past few weeks going from iphone to captivate and back. While i wish there was someway to improve the camera quality on the captivate i think i've come to live with it. At least the videos are comparable.
Sorry, iPhone 4 does not have the best camera. Check Nokia and even Xperia X10.

nokias camera are soooo far ahead of the ip4 camera..
I find it amazing that cellphones these days pack so many features into a small package. 5MP Camera, HD Video recording, beautiful and large LCD screens? Who still remembers beepers/pagers? hahahaha
Anyways I'm sure the iPhone 4 camera is a little better but the Captivates HD video comes out nicely. I think it has to do with Samsung having the ability to make Digital Cameras.
Didn't find a Lenovo K900 thread anywhere, on any site as a matter of fact, so I'm starting one. First phone from a Chinese company to get me excited. I'm still leery of ZTE and Huawei, but Lenovo has been making Thinkpads for several years now so I'll bite. This phone looks amazing, especially the diamond pattern. It's super blocky, but its so thin at under 7mm it makes it look really cool. The frame around the black glass front really makes it stand out in its own unique way. It even has a microSD slot. A big middle finger to all those other unibody phones that keep on saying no microSD is the future. The only thing I don't like is the look of the speaker grille. There's also a 13MP camera by Sony. Hopefully it is the new Exmor RS and not the old R. If it is the RS, it's kind of weird that Sony is not making their own sensor exclusive, and instead sharing the limelight with Lenovo on the same show. The Lenovo one is even thinner. Did I mention it has a 5.5" 1080p IPS screen?
Here's a fun video where the rep makes a bunch of mistakes. Poor guy confuses sim card with microSD card and internal storage with internal RAM. He also does this Sarah Palin-esque jumble of words about how he personally loves the phone, its good for low lighting, because he's a power user, and a whole bunch of other stuff that aren't necessarily connected. Does it in all the other videos too. Gotta dig how he says that 5.5" is the perfect size.

Here's a comparison with the Galaxy Note 2. Its a little bit taller, but looks a little bit less wide, if not the same.

Since you want thoughts, I have to say that IMO that's one of the ugliest phones to date. The shiny back thing worked well on phones like the Nexus 4 but on that it looks absolutely awful. From a specs standpoint it seems pretty decent, although I don't think it's any better than the Xperia Z or ZL (whichever one's better lol). The Xperias are infinitely better looking, too. However, as stated in the comments of the youtube comparison with a GNote 2, phablets are pretty pointless without some sort of special S-Pen like functionality.
I like the metal and those screws which make it look solid and upmarket even though being so slim. The diamond pattern version is not for me, although it does look like those engine turned instrument panels on pre-war Mercedes'. Performance wise I've seen initial benchmarks which look impressive. It does need an S-pen. At the moment the Note 2 is my favourite phone even though Samsung is using far too much cheap looking plastic.

Congratulations! Nicely designed hardware (the simple stainless version), unfortunately with really tacky overlay, but nothing that a good launcher can't help, I hope.

Is the K900 definitely a WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100 phone? Most specs mention only 2100 for 3G, some add 900, but one of the shops confirmed, when questioned specifically, that the K900 covers WCDMA 850/900/1900/2100. This is important for the US users (and here is what Lenovo seems to be distributing: http://www.letsgomobile.org/images/news/lenovo/lenovo-smartphone.pdf)
How do you like it so far?
What is the battery life?
What is the camera like in low light?
I also have the HTC One Developer Edition on order, but will probably cancel it (the f/1.8 lens on the K900 was the tipping point for me, hope it's great not just on paper).
Also, does it have FM transmitter?
Most of the chips with FM receivers include a transmitter as well, just curious if there is an app on the K900 for the transmitter.

k900 and iphone 5 have their own strengths,in your link to zol.com.cn ,they show that iphone 5's photo is better at night, but ,Lenovo K900 is still very stable from the comparison of outdoor , indoor , macro , panoramic night view of these aspects , whether it is indoors or outdoors, Lenovo K900 can be very accurate in place to restore the colors and details . iPhone 5 because of its usual " automatic " style ,adjust the photo color , brightness to compare to please the eye , but During panorama shooting iPhone 5 " automatic " loss of efficiency , a significant drop in the brightness of the screen .

Sure, the K900 has an overall fine camera with great wide aperture and hopefully the software side will be tweaked to make the shots better.
Thanks for the photos in the rooting thread you've started, it a great-looking phone.
Have you figured out if the phone has radio transmitter (so that you can stream music to FM frequency on your car radio, for cars without A2DP receivers)?
Also, have you come across any documentation on the 3G bands enabled (850 and 1900 are of particular interest)?
Oh, and can you get through the day without a recharge (with "normal" use)?
Thanks.
guys frankly before ordering i was thinking this is the best phone in the world in this price range but after i used it for 1 month ive realised that firstly..camera is good but it needs some settings every time.....guyz im not a developer but i guarantee u with roms like cm or miui this big beast will turn to a monster...problems is in its software"lenovo UI"..I WOULD APPRECIATE IF SOMEONE WOULD PORT ROMS ON K900
First I will explain my story: I went from owning the SGS 1, then SGS 2 and then I bought a Droid DNA for something different, but someone stole it. Luckily a friend sold me an SGS 3 for very cheap. By the time I played around with the SGS 3, I realised why I was getting bored of Samsung to begin with. It's because of the screen. Yes it looks sharp and clear but the amoled screen was so fake and forced with saturation which my Droid DNA wasn't suffering from. Not to mention the SGS 3 seemed exactly the same as my SGS 2 only a different shape and size. It was quite frankly boring!
After my insurance company replaced my Droid DNA I could no longer use the SGS 3 because of these facts. I continued to use the Droid DNA for the following months and I can not fault it besides the screen being too small for me now, I have simply outgrown it. I have since sold all of my phones including the DNA to purchase a new phone. I automatically wanted the Note 3 because of the size and hardware and well known projected development but my main questions are:
Is the screen on the Galaxy Note 3 improved with life like colours in comparison to the SGS 3?
Is the camera going to be good enough without OIS?
If you want to know my other choices and reasons why I am considering them please look below. (Was going to include Sony Xperia Z Ultra but the camera has no flash and is only 8mp and the size form factor is too much for me)
My first choice (hoping the screen doesn't put me off)

Samsung Galaxy Note 3
Pros:
Biggest screen in a small chassis in comparison to any other phablet
Stylus might come in handy but I have never used one before
Has the best internals out of the competition Snapdragon 800/Adreno 330
Development support is massive for Samsung!
Massive battery
4K recording on specific model I am interested in
More RAM
Cons:
Amoled screens have always seemed boring to look at to me and everything seems fake, almost like a cartoon. I need to use the GN3 in person before I can be sure. They might have made it better than the SGS 3? - This is the main reason I am concerned about - My Droid DNA felt so lifelike and easy to look at)
Camera has no OIS (and apparently the auto focus is slow according to some reviews)
My second choice
Acer Liquid S2
Pros:
Screen appeals to me more as it is not amoled like the Note 3
6" display
Same internals as Note 3
Same battery capacity as Note 3
Highest contrast amongst my choices?
Better Front Camera than the other choices
LED Ring Flash (4 leds)
Cons:
Bigger than Note 3 and not sure if it is worth it for the size increase of the screen (TOUGH DECISION)
Has a slower clock speed at 2.2 instead of 2.3 in other Snapdragon 800 phones
If it is not a lot cheaper than it will make me lean towards the Note 3
Reflective screen might cancel out contrast levels outdoors
Not sure what development will be like?
My third choice (more information on release might push me to buy this phone)
Oppo N1
Pros:
Rotating 6 lens camera with F/2.0 Aperture
First Cyanogen Mod Integrated Phone
Duel LED Flash
Biggest battery of all of my choices
Back of the phone has a touch panel which I bet will become very customisable
Aluminium
Some images make it look like the phone is waterproof?
Cons:
Phone might be tooooo big
last generation internals Snapdragon 600/Adreno 320
My third choice tied (more information on release might push me to buy this phone)
HTC One Max ( Some specs might still be unconfirmed)
Pros:
Screen might appeal to me more as it is not amoled like the Note 3
Larger screen
Camera has OIS and might be great. (The HTC One camera didn't impress me too much however)
External surround speakers
Development has really started picking back up with HTC
Cons:
Physical size must be big considering the speaker layout and camera
last generation internals Snapdragon 600/Adreno 320
Another tied third choice (Price is so cheap it might make do)
LG Optimus G Pro (Was also looking at Note 2 but this trumps it in every way besides stylus/software which I am still unsure if I will use often enough and of course I prefer a non amoled screen)
Pros:
This phone is literally half the price as the note 3 costing me $450 vs $850 for the Note 3 (This phone might keep me going until a newer phone entices me and for half the price it is tempting)
Dolby mobile sound enhancement
Great sized screen
Big battery
Camera is better than average
The development is not tooooo bad
Cons:
last generation internals Snapdragon 600/Adreno 320
My fourth choice (most disappointing because screen is probably not going to be big enough!! but I love all of the other features. If this phone was 5.5" I would be getting it over anything else! I am so annoyed it has on screen keys and a smaller screen! - It's why I sold my Nexus 4 so quickly)
LG G2
Pros:
Screen appeals to me more as it is not amoled like the Note 3
Large battery for a small phone (not as good as the note 3 but the life should be close to the same as it has a smaller screen to power)
The phone is cheaper to buy outright by $200 dollars in my country in comparison to the note 3
Camera is outstanding - 4K record might be possible with firmware update - f/2.4 aperture and OIS has proven to take better images and video with the right settings in comparison to my other phone choices
Internals are the same as Note 3
Cons:
Screen is only a little step up in quality and size from my Droid DNA (especially if I choose to keep on screen keys active)
LG usually have little development support compared to Samsung
The button placement at the back makes the phone look weird and maybe awkward. I thought it was a camera lens cover when I first saw it
At the end of the day if the Note 3 didn't have an amoled screen and did have OIS I wouldn't be looking at other phones at all. Even if it just had a different screen it would probably lock me in to buying it. That goes the same for the LG G2 if it had a larger screen! To make a definitive decision, I need to use all of these phones in person but because I live in Australia, most of these phones aren't available to me. Makes it very hard to make a decision! I need to look at the Galaxy Note 3 screen and see if I can deal with the amoled, if I can I will buy it. It is released in Australia in 3 days for me to check out.
If I don't like the Note 3 screen, I will need to handle the Oppo, Acer and HTC One Max to see if I am comfortable with the size of them. If I am then I will buy whichever one I like better, the problem is these phone will probably not come to Australia anytime soon, if at all for me to test them so I can only go by user opinion!
If I am not completely happy with the Acer/HTC/Oppo size I will end up buying the LG Optimus G Pro for so much cheaper than the others and I will then look to replace it when I am happy with another phone even if the phone is lower spec, it has decent development and an upgraded screen size and quality over my DNA.
I also need to see the LG G2 in person to judge the screen size for myself, again the phone is not available in my country until November! and I will want to make a decision by then
Samsung please make in the future smartphones:
OIS
Remove modulation at medium and low brightness, as it did in the Fly IQ444 Diamond 2 Quattro, Motorola Razr HD (XT925) and LG G Flex

Remove Dynamic and Standard modes. These modes are as bone that samsung threw for some reviewers and haters. Benefit from them is no, only cons. Because at testers gray is blue, red is orange, they specially put this modes, they have very cold tone (6500-6700K - Cinema and pro photo mode, 7500-8000K - Dynamic and Standard). Anyway all image are designed for SRGB standard, and enhanced range is color distortion, red hues (at normal color temperature) and oversaturation.
Сomplete yet color gamut to 100% SRGB, the unnecessary 6-7% still sometimes make themselves known. (but 106% instead of 122% in S4 is a good job).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=7PP8mgv0eCY#t=798 (This is Cinema Mode)
Metal Body (antennas should be behind the plastic, glass or other material, but not metal, so did HTC, Apple and Sony, otherwise the connection will be very bad).
Thanks
It would be ideal. Isocell, improved super amoled (brightness, viewing angles, color reproduction in cinema and pro photo mode, anti-glare), waterproof, interface speed and battery life is awesome.
Who are close to the developers of samsung, please show them this post
I'd think there are many more important issues with phones nowadays than screen calibration. If you want to edit photos, get a good monitor and calibrate it. If you want to watch movies, get a 65" plasma or OLED and stop complaining about stuff that has little relevance in smartphones.

It is much more important than unnecessary megapixels, megahertz, cores and ppi's.
It's about quality of display, which can be much better,
about the impact on eyes and eye fatigue,
about shooting in low light,
about solid and feeling that you hold the thing for ages
about "vulnerabilities", which can fault reviewers and haters

I prefer a fast phone with a perfect screen, than a slow phone with a good screen.
We already have good screens and if Samsung devotes loads of hours to making the screen much better, they will either need to make the phone super expensive to pay for those extra hours or they will have to cut corners in other areas to save money.
The law of diminishing returns - you spend 10% of time to achieve 90% of what you want and 90% for the rest 10%.
Less screen modes? More accurate? It will be a cold day in hell when Samsung stops emphasizing the saturated colors that only come from AMOLED. There's a reason why they use it on all flagships.
Lots of people prefer that saturated profile.
I would be always against taking choice away from customer.
Cinema is quite good Btw. Not perfect but it's close to accurate.
First thing I did when I bought this phone was changing the screen mode. That's Android strength: let me choose.
OIS: yes please.
Metal body: only if it's not form over function.

To the speed these improvements have absolutely no affected. And make them easy as shelling pears

The main advantages of amoled is not oversaturation and distortion. The main advantages is ideal black color, ideal contrast, ideal viewing angle, ideal response speed, all much better than lcd
That's true, S5 doesn't look like a 2014 flagship.

Say "cheese", then rate this thread to express how photos taken with the Samsung Galaxy S9+ come out. A higher rating indicates that photos offer rich color (without over-saturating), sharp detail (with all subjects in-focus), and appropriate exposure (with even lighting).
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
So far so good. Pictures do look pretty near-term however they're not perfect by a long shot.
Admittedly I've been spoilt as I was using a pixel 2 before this, and low light images were a lot sharper, but not as well lot as the s9.
I think there can be a lot of improvement between the 1.5/2.4 aperture settings in regards to software tweaks.
Another thing I'd like to see is a much better portrait mode. Images look so soft and lack finer details. Compared to my pixel 2... well there really isn't a comparison at this point.
One thing I've noticed samsung cameras always do, is brighten up the face of the person in the photo. If you've got brown skin colour it tends to make them look too pale. I've seen reviewers say it can make the person almost look a bit ill! This happened on my note 8 also, and knowing what I know about South East Asian culture, it wouldn't surprise me if this was as intended as South East Asians do like to look paler, using cosmetics, filters or skin bleaching. So is the pale face as intended?
Anyhow, I'd say the camera has huge potential. Samsung just needs to do a lot of tweaking as irrefutable all the right hardware is there.

Yes, photo quality is good.
If I should be honnest, I expected a little bit better camera quality when I saw DX score and more....But now when I compare photos from S9+ to my note8, the colors looks a lot more faded, the most noticeable is in interior...Hmm I hope that update will fix it (Exynos version). What do you think?
I made compare video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BADd5DvVoKM
S9+ https://ibb.co/bwd3cn
Note8 https://ibb.co/jtxwxn
best
There is no doubt on it overcomes iPhone. Great quality. Anyone should get it right now
I have shaky hands, and on Auto it's almost like there's no OIS. I get a lot of motion blur on things or blur in general. Sports mode fixes it, but it's really disappointing.

What kind of lighting were you shooting in?
Not impressed with the auto 2.4 to 1.5 aperture here in the UK at least, it doesn’t seem to understand what low light is
This photo is on 'auto'
And below where I had it manually set to 1.5

The auto picture has a better dynamic range. Look at the window and you can see pictures outside but their airplane is a little dark
The whole picture looks dark
I did a S8+ (which I own) vs S9+ Camera quick comparison at my local shop... took some pictures in pro mode, same settings, same scene, both F1.5 and F2.4 for S9 (and of course fixed F1.7 for S8)...
S8 pictures are sharper (both RAW and JPEG) or better overall, with about the same noise... I am very disappointed.
You can download all the JPEG and RAW files: (RAW+JPEG files included): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dgyBwiPbO8tHVqsqZpiJ6aoZn5a-p4m-/view?usp=sharing
Any thoughts?
This is Mocha. Mocha is 14 this year and not the fasting moving dog anymore.
Here's three shots in auto mode with tracking AF on:

This is awful. I mean, just ****ing awful. Coming from the V30 using the hacked GCam, this is major step down. Out of six shots I got one usable one.
If anyone knows what I'm doing wrong here with Auto Mode, I'm all ears because I'm tempted to take this thing back.

I think the camera quality is great overall..
But A small upgrade compares to note 8 not really camera reimagined

So what? It's supposed to be. Your second picture is blowing out highlights and destroying tons of detail. The first picture might seem dimmer (especially compared to the second one), but it's preserving the details in all the areas of the photo. The 1.5 aperture is meant to cut down on noise and detail loss in very dark scenes, not create super bright images from moderately dim environments. It looks like the camera did exactly what it's supposed to do.
