Hi guys !
I ( along with lots of other users ) am facing a big problem with Xperia L. There's some kind of memory leak with the device.
The default storage space for appsdata is 1.57 GB. However, for some unknown reason, the free space & appsdata does not add up to 1.57 GB
This problem is not just restricted to me. A lot of users are also facing this problem. The problem is temporarily solved by factory reset, but it reoccurs again after some time.
I have attached two screenshots.( took a screenshot when i encountered this problem first time & ALSO, took a screenshot after factory reset when i still had this problem )
Sony staff hasn't yet responded to this problem in this thread despite the fact that it was first reported about a month ago !!
( Google this " Xperia L issues" & click on the first link. [ can't post the link as i am a new user } )
me too
i am also facing d same problem. had done factory reset..still it persists..i dont know whether it is due to the latest update..photo quality also reduced after the latest update
I have these for a week now though not sum up the total storage but it never came down so far

try this method, it's work.
you need a rooted phone to run this app Download
Install and Open Menu>Batch Actions>Scroll to Manipulate data>Run clear cache for user & system apps>Tick check
Reboot your phone
Check your storage again
Other app doesn't work like clean master because those apps no longer have access to clear cache for system apps. :good:
Temporal solution is to turn off Walkman app n settings and not to install Spotify, because these players cause the problem. I don't know if the other music apps do the same, I didn't check it.

I tried turning off walkman app, but that didn't work for me. & i don't have spotify installed :/
When you turn off the app it stops the memory sucking, it doesn't give you the memory back. It just prevents further consumption.

ahh.. I didn't know that..
I have a small ( probably silly ) doubt here : when i went to Settings>apps to force stop the walkman app, i noticed there were 2 walkman apps in the all apps tab( one was 140 kb & other was 4 mb approx. ). Which one should i force stop ??
Should i do this every time i switch on my phone ?
Thanks a lot.
Don't force stop them, turn them off, it's the button to the right of force close button. And to be sure, turn off both Walkman apps, one of them is music visualisation.

chrome
no need to force stop walkman or album..just stop using chrome..use other browsers like opera or firefox..then the internal memory wont decrease..also dont use official facebook app..:
I have also a lot memory leak...

dont forget deleted file cache wechat, album cache
for this kind of operation I like Link2SD, go to the "more" menu in the bottom and select "clean cache"...
another good is "android assistant" that has clean cache too... all these are free from google play to download.

Also having this Device Memory issue
This issue has been causing me problems too.
I have done lots of testing and monitoring around it, including three full factory resets / clean installs of the latest up-to-date version of Android Jelly Bean for Xperia L (build no. 15.0.2.A.17). I've determined that I can prevent the issue by not installing/using the Spotify music app. This is bothersome for me as I rely on Spotify for my mobile music consumption.
When I install and use Spotify, the Available Device Memory space starts to reduce. It then only takes about a week for the Available memory to reach close to 0mb, with the phone error messages then appearing about not having enough memory to install updates or carry out other functions.
It's now about two or three weeks since I performed (via Sony Update on Windows) a third clean OS install because of this problem and at the moment the phone is working smoothly and its memory is staying more or less constant (without Spotify installed). I will keep monitoring device memory usage for a few more days and then install Spotify one last time. If the memory problem then re-occurs, I'll contact Spotify support (not a pleasant prospect as I've found that whenever I contact their support people they don't seem to properly read my emails but instead offer less-than-helpful pre-packaged "solutions"). I imagine they will suggest (amongst other things) another factory reset / clean install. I will probably carry that out but am not hopeful that the problem will be resolved.
There is a 22-page thread on the Xperia Care support forums about this issue with over 200 posts and more than 5000 views. If anyone else is having this problem, please read the thread and log a "Me Too" about it on the thread's first post so that Sony is kept aware of the issue and works harder on a solution. As a new XDA dev user I can't post a link to the forum thread, so search for "Device memory full in xperia L" on the Xperia Care support forums. You will need to register with Xperia Care before being able to post or log a "Me Too".
Thnx.

Storage Issue Fixed
Sony has launched the Firmware update that updates the Build to 15.3.A.0.26. Update the Firmware and most of the issues are fixed. Most importantly the Storage Bug has been finally fixed

hi friends
i have xperia L and when i bought it , Typed on it 8GB internal storage. but in X-plore apk i saw separated 2GB as internal and 4GB as SDcard.
i bought a 16GB sdcard, but Xperia L can't move Data and Apk and ... to it. Social programs can't move video and imgages to it. so i don't use this 16GB for my files.
Why 8GB separated to 2GB and 4GB? that don't Allow system read my 16GB. why?
anybody have my problem?
what are you doing with this problem?... :crying:
thanks
The XL is partioned into 2x 4 GB. One is for system, the other for personal files. You can use Link2sd (and similar) to move apps to your sdcard1. There are also methods to swith the internal and external (micro sd) arround. (in this way you would have 4 + 16 and an 'external' sd of 4 gb)
Tapatalked that sh*t
Try ES file explorer.
ES file explorer has the option of analyzing the SD card. Use it to analyze the internal SD card and then if and when needed you can even delete the memory clog in it. It would be most probably due to cache present in your device.
I have tried it and it works. Try and let me know if it is working for you.

Hello, I have a problem with running Google Play after flashing the phone with Xperia Pro Ultima v1.1 kernel and rom. The application turns on, I have logged in fine, I can see the main menu and browse, but when I try to open a game menu it crashes and it shows a message that I have to force kill (com.android.vending process).
I have Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro MK16i
Does anybody know how might I solve this? Thank you in advance
This is a known issue due to a wrong NFC file included (mk16i doesn't use NFC) in android
you need to remove a file by adb or with a root explorer.
the file is:
/system/etc/permissions/android.hardware.nfc.xml
reboot, and everything should be just find !

May be play store is updating. It happens to me too. Let it be for an hour or so and see in Settings>Apps. If its updated you can do whatever you wanted.

Hi guys,
first of all, I just get myself official update to Lollipop.
1. I have N5 16GB as my daily use device and I wonder: is 12,5 GB internal space for user a correct amount? Hadn't I got much more on KitKat?
Also maybe you can help me on few other things bothering me on version 5:
2. Is there any way to add "restart" command to power button menu?
3. I cannot see "Gallery" app - what is the fastest and easiest way to get to my camera folder? Only via camera app itself?
4. How can I block some apps activities like Dialer to use localization. Before I was using Xposed module for that
5. Does A5 include standard SMS app or Hangout is my only choice?
Thanks in advance!
Hi again guys,
I managed to find some answers for my own, but I got stuck here:

5. Can you please recomend any app to stop some apps from starting just after boot? Some autostart, boot manager etc? App Ops have this feature inside, but not working at all.
Hi,
I am currently using XPeria Lollipop Custom ROM.
Initially on update of apps everything used to work well..
But now even though I have storage space, I get error from PlayStore saying, insufficient storage space. I uninstalled many apps but still it won't work... Because of this all my apps are outdated now... If I install using apk file all works well, it installs without any problem..
Kindly help me out... Thank you..
P.S. I read a post that said, updated playstore causes this problem.. How do I fix it? if this is the case..
I own a Xperia Z2 with CM12.1 + M5 kernel but I don't think this problem is related to a specific device or ROM because before this I had an S4 with same problems .
Almost everytime I try to download an app/game bigger than 20-30Mb , the download progress bar fills to 100% then it starts downloading again and when it reaches 100% I get error 963 "app can't be downloaded"
I tried cleaning cache of phone , cleaning cache + data of plays store , rebooting but nothing helps , I just can't download some apps/games .
Does anyone have an idea what should I do ? Is really annoying ...
anyone ?
c'mon , am I the only one with this problem ?
Have you tried unmounting the SD card and installing the app?
Give it a try.
Unmount the SD Card, not remove it, then download the app. It should install fine.
Have you updated your Play Store to 6.3.12A? If yes, revert back to 6.0.5. It'll trigger 963 error when updating apps.
It won't affect clean install anyway.

Lol I didn't notice it! I see that update recently on XDA Labs app. But, I think it's better to obtain updated Open GApps as I'm using it.
Btw I'm on 6.3.12A as I said with clean installation of BeanStalk and everything goes fine.
