[Q] Lost backup files - Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III

I wipe catche sys dalvik then factory reset then flash rom (liquidsmooth 2.10) gaaps and bms kernel after all that i was setting back up my settings apps etc then realized i needed something from my txt saved on backup file so i put back my backup files to internal storage wen i go to TWRP restore thers no files there but i can see the files in es file explorer.. Any suggestions how to get my backups back so twrp can restore them

What directory did you place your backup files in? It's possible they got wiped. I know it doesn't help now but I recommend buying TitaniumBackup it's the best app I've used for those types of issues.

I do not know
Try installing stock rom again.
u may need to flash your original rom or ask someone who was backup the shock camera.
Beside, u can try other 3rd camera apps
Use root explorer
Go to system directory
Mount partition as r/w
Paste the apk in system/apps
Reboot
I think this will help you. if it does please THANK me.

Well also don't forget to set full permissions.
Once when I copied the apk file it didn't work later when I set full permissions it worked.
I would use titanium backup to backup the apps you have, then do a factory reset if the AOL fix above doesn't worm.
mount your SD card from your PC transfer a copy of your Titanium Backup folder from SD card to PC the MAin folder and the contents will all be saved. Then reinsert SD in phone uninstall TitBa clearing the data first then uninstall. Then boot into ClockWorkMod then wipe all 3 cache's then do "Fix Permissions" then Reboot phone. Re-Install Titanium back up and transfer your app backups from your PC back into your newly created TB folder that your phone will make on the SD card when you install TB. Then go into Restore/Backup in TB and restore the App.
You need to allow to install apps from unknown sources!

stock rom

I lost my wifi when i rooted and can not find a fix. If i install the stock rom for my sch-i905 on this site, will i lose my installed apps if i use app backup and restore. If yes, can i move the backed up apps file to my computer, reinstall the backup and restore app, move the backed up file back to tab and restore?

Click to collapse
The backup files are stored on the SD card which is not wiped during that process. You don't need to move them (unless you really want to ).

Titanium Backup -- unable to restore, folder empty

I flashed a new ROM yesterday. I swear I backed up my apps and data with Titanium backup (onto my SD card) but when I tried to restore apps, they are no where to be found. Per instructions, I wiped cache and davlik folder after I flashed my new ROM.
Here is what I have done so far: Titanium backup > menu> preferences> backup folder location > /storage/emulated/legacy/TitaniumBackup . When I click detect, it says "no backup location found".
I used ROM manager to backup ROM before flashing the new ROM, not sure if this also backs up the apps and ther data that I had on the phone. This will really suck if I lost everything as I have so many documents on the phone.
I am in desperate need for help. Any help will be appreciated.
Sorry for the stupid question... Did you tick the selection to search whole device?

Restore files
You should choose to restore the contents of, but can be restored some programs back is can't use. But not as you say nothing at all, you must have made a mistake, software wouldn't, at the same time with titanium backup directory in the memory card, you have to go to the next, backup the files if you have that can restore normal

Browse twrp backup

Hey guys i got a question. I did a backup via twrp and moved it to a USB flash drive then did a factory reset now I'm trying to fnd my photos to restore them via nandroid manager but i cant find them. Can anyone tell me the path where they were backed up?
FYI im pretty sure the photos are weithin the backup because it has a size of about 5gb.
Thank you in advance!
The 'backup' is for the system. Twrp does not backup folders per se. All my pics are on my 128gb card and no matter what I flash or restore, there they are. Are you saying they were on the phone and you managed to delete them, if so, that's what a restore should fix. I say should because sometimes restores don't work the way you might expect them too.
Yeah but I want to restore just the photos is there a way to extract them out of the backup?

TWRP backups and recovery backups in general only save /system, /cache, /dalvik-cache and /data, but the data directory has stored only app data, settings etc. but no media (that's in the /media or /sdcard directory). If you did a factory reset usually the internal sdcard won't be cleared. If it somehow happened your pictures are lost, if you didn't enable Google's automatic photo backup.

How to change rom and backup apps

I want to change to another rom, what i asking is, after backup with titanium backup. Do i have to wipe everything, including internal storage? If so, how can we restore the apps data, copy the titanium file to the computer first and then paste it to phone when the new rom flashed?

From TWRP, wipe eveything but internal storage. Your Titanium backups won't be deleted.
