Hi, I have a problem that has me worried is that I had the latest version for my galaxy s3, but I started to give problems with the camera, when the error was saying abria camera.
Well I decided to flash again using odin android version 3.07 and version I535VRBMF1, but when you finish installing and Restarts the phone enters recovery mode says this
e: failed to Verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Instalation aborted.
I've tried with version 4.0.4 and also feel the same, not to do never had happened, the stock rom is all and that I had also, in some cases the phone rises to the configuration but remains there, says updating android is not letting me do anything, begins to vibrate.
thanks

Hmm, try Odin flashing one of these tar files, preferably BLK3. I'm somewhat confused by your words. When you Odin flash a tar, it successfully does so then it never boots into the rom and automatically goes back into recovery? Is that what you're saying?

I must be making a big mistake along the process, because I am fairly new to this. I flashed a couple ROMs on my Droid X in the past, but my S3 is just not working for me...
I have followed the stickied guide to flash the stock ROM, install TWRP, then root and unlock bootloader. When I attempt to follow the instructions to install the ROM I have chosen, it fails every time. It fails just after attempting to open the .zip, so it is very quickly. I have Odin flashed back to stock 3 times and tried 2 different ROMs, both fail the same way.
Is there any more information I should provide?
What error message you get? Whether you are seeing TWRP recovery or Stock recovery?

"Unable to open .zip," or something similar.
So have you tried just rooting the phone first with bootloader unlocked. Once you make sure you have the phone rooted then go back into recovery to flash.
Also there are so many steps you could have messed up on a little bit more detail on what it does when you go into recovery to flash or if you can't even get there.

Good point. Be sure your bootloader is unlocked - most roms now will not flash with a locked bootloader. Also did you verify the md5 matches? You flashed on the dx so I'm sure you did - just trying to cover all the bases.

Getting the same error in both. Tried CWM first, because that is what I was familiar with from the past, but I reflashed and tried TWRP. They are not both installed at the same time, if that would be an issue.
I have only verified that my bootloader is unlocked by the split second flash of SAMSUNG during boot. I also do not have a "custom" message at the bottom. I'm not familiar with any other way to verify.
After trying a few different things with no success, I have looked into the error a little further.

Anyone want to lend a hand?
I've been on Carbon 1.8 for some time (AOKP and CM10 before that) and wanted to go back to stock rooted TouchWiz for a while. So I downloaded the de-odexed rooted Stock VRBF1 from Scotts ROMs.
I flashed this from TWRP 2.5.0.0 and the phone would not boot beyond the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen. This was a clean flash, I factory reset the phone and also manually cleaned the dalvik, cache, system and data from advanced wipe options.
I tried this again about twice with the same result.
I then tried a Stock VRALG7 zip that I had on my computer with the same result.
Finally, I gave up and decided to flash Carbon again, and the exact same thing happened - The phone won't boot beyond the "Samsung Galaxy S III" screen.
I can access Recovery just fine and even connect via adb. One thing I noticed was that when I am in TWRP and explore the files, /system is empty and has only one folder (bin)
At this point my phone is pretty much dead in the water and any help would be appreciated.
Thanks !!

My bad, use ODIN to flash the stock or the Carbon?
Also do I use the same zip that I got from scots roms or do I the stock firmware from sammobile?
I have never really used Odin and am not really sure if all zips are odin flashable or not.
Thanks again.

Use Odin to flash the stock tar then reroot. There's a no-wipe stock rom thread in the dev section that has a few stock images. If you have issues flashing those images then I firmly suggest using a tar that wipes /sdcard. You can download those on Samsung Update website for our phone model (SCH-I535).

They might have some as well, I'm mobile and at work so I can't check for you. Make sure the tar specifically states it's for "d2vzw" or SCH-I535. If someone else can help out please do. I know there are firmware on "Samsung Updates" website but I haven't looked on Sammobile before. Better yet, post the file name once it's downloaded.

Verizon Galaxy S III SCH 1535 rooted with casual. Got root access but any custom recovery will not identify OS or any data. Even flashed back to 4.0.4. stock and and stock recovery will not work. I think partitions are different now or got changed some how. I have flash 4.1.1 stock image and got stock recovery back but Twrp or CMW will not work. First time I ever had this issue.

I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction.
I've recently flashed the modified ML1 modem from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1788313 and tried both using 4.3 Wicked Sensations and 4.3 MOAR. Phone was working great with either one until just normally restarting the phone, it would get stuck on the Samsung Galaxy SIII logo. My temporary fix was to go back into TWRP, wipe everything, and just reflash either rom but once in a while my phone would randomly lock up and I'd have to restart the phone to run into the same problem.
So I tried using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030 this guide to maybe fix the problem but ODIN keeps failing when flashing the vzw.root_66.tar. I've used this once before and it worked, but this was over a year ago. Do I need to do something differently because I've technically updated my phone?
Now I'm in a situation where powering on the phone, it gives the unauthorized by verizon wireless msg even when holding the vol up and home keys but I am still able to access download mode.
Thanks!

I had a similar issue caused by trying to flash a bad rom. I tried to do an odin flash of the VRALEC file and it succeeded but the flash of the root66 failed due to a bad cable. Now i'm getting the unauthorized message. I downloaded the firmware from the link but I'm curious what the steps are for flashing it. Do I need to flash something else first or can I just pop that file in to ODIN and flash it and be back up again?

Sweet I got it. It was actually as simple as just disconnecting the USB cable and pulling the battery. After that I turned the phone back on, entered download mode and it flashed perfect. Thanks for all your help.
My phone has been soft bricked after trying to flash the latest dkp kernel. I was using philz touch recovery and I tried to flash dkp kernel 3-20 build, and I got an error during flashing saying that it couldn't decompress the ramdisk. So I tried to flash the older version of dkp that I was using, and it failed to flash! I have never had problems like this before. So now my phone will not boot to system or go back to recovery. I can only access download mode. I was using CM11 with the ML1 modem and dkp kernel before my phone got bricked. It really frustrates me that my phone just randomly decided to freak out and brick itself, because I've been doing the same thing forever and never had any problems flashing a kernel. Please tell me how I can fix my phone. Thank you.

Don't know what else to tell you, it's a completely stock file.
Recovery, system, kernel, and bootloader.
If you can't boot into recovery it must've not flashed perfectly or something else is wrong, like your hardware.

Don't know what else to tell you, it's a completely stock file.
Recovery, system, kernel, and bootloader.
If you can't boot into recovery it must've not flashed perfectly or something else is wrong, like your hardware.

I highly doubt that it is a hardware issue. I just tried to ODIN again and I'm in the same situation. One thing that I have noticed is that it tries to reinstall the MTP driver after using ODIN and it fails to install.
EDIT: Nevermind. I was able to enter recovery this time. I just did a factory reset. Hopefully it boots now. I will report back with results.
UPDATE: Ok. Everything seems fine now. Used casual to root and unlock bootloader again. Then installed PhilZ Touch Recovery. Now I am making a backup, and I am going to flash a Kit Kat Rom.
