It's been awhile since posting another creation. I haven't had a lot of time recently to work on anything due to computer and car issues, plus we lost a couple people at work and I have been stuck there most my days.
Anyway, on to the fun. Recently a member (ProCision) mentioned Myn was looking for a good boot for WarmZ TwoPointTwo. I just recently picked up some new video/animation software to try out. Here is the boot animation I created as a test. I hope you all enjoy, I will post up some single pics when I have a little more time if anyone wants to create their own splash screen images.
IMPORTANT: These files are not flashable via recovery. You must push them via ADB or simply copy them to your SDcard and transfer them to the correct directory as stated below. User Tiffany84 usually helps out and will create flashable zips shortly, please thank her for her hard work as well.
UPDATE: Two new bootanimation files have been uploaded. These again are not flashable via recovery. Make sure to rename the .zip's just "bootanimtion.zip" for the corresponding one you like. The audio has not changed.
Video preview with audio as how it should look played on ones phone:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrmG-syg36c
Myn's
HTC EVO Brand
Unbranded
Instructions:
For users who have their boot animations located in the /system/media folder, keep the bootanimation in the .zip format titled as "bootanimation.zip" and the corresponding audio titled as "android_audio.mp3". Simply use ADB to the push the files if you know how or transfer them to your SDcard and then to the correct system folders.
For users who's boot animations are located in the /system/customize/resource folder, again keep the animation file titled as "bootanimation.zip" and the corresponding audio titled as "SPC_animation_final.mp3". Simply use ADB to the push the files if you know how or transfer them to your SDcard and then to the correct system folders.
If you need further instructions or help, feel free to post up or shoot me a PM.
Enjoy!

Here is the new animation in a flashable zip. The first one is for people that are running a rom that has the bootanimation stored in system/customize/resource. It also includes the sound. The second are for people that are running a rom that has the animation stored in system/media. It doesn't have the sound. Enjoy.

I am not that familiar with CM7, In order to give the animation a bit more of a custom tweak, any details would be helpful. What device is CM7 typically used for, what color tint as suggested by user dkdude36, what version of android is the latest version used for, etc? I was searching for CM7, and it seems there are a s*** ton of different versions and whatnot. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

This is great!!! What are the odds of getting a version that is not rom specific?
^+1 amazing work OP!

Cm 7 is a gingerbread aosp made by cynogen and his team. Ull find the thread in the dev section. Its made for most phones. The newest versions is rc2 not including nightlys. Anyone else's versions are just themes or roms made as cm7 as a base rom.
I'm on my phone or I'd post screen shots for u

Very very possible. I was going to add the "unbranded" version here shortly.
That does look incredible!
incubus26jc shot me a PM about this on youtube and we were wondering who did this. We googled the youtube vid and found this thread
Awesome work man.
Gonna give this a go right now
Huge thank you.
Its great work man, but personally, I think it'd be better if it didn't have the Myn's Warm Z 2.2, or you made some other for a couple of popular roms, like CM7 or king's ultra, MIUI, ect. But I am impressed.

Before you get to wrapped up into throwing this in your rom or on your thread. Remember when I was asking about how to hault/pause the boot process? I found a way to get the animation to play smoothly and completely without the need to edit the init.rc file. Once I have the optimized version finished I will shoot ya a PM. I will be posting preview vids on youtube from now on, same username as here.

Working on them now and will post them up in an update.
your stuff is sick.... i need to learn what your using to make these as i'm trying to learn to make bootanimations myself. and any help would be great.
Like the title says I'm working on building a ROM of my own. I am new to this but am not stupid. I've looked around the forums and have bookmarked quite a few threads that will help me. My question is, how would I go about putting a custom CWM flashing screen in? Like on Eman..and ZTR where it says Collective, and flashing modem, etc. etc. And if anyone can point me to a better "ROMS for dummies thread that would be great Thanks for any help
Edit: Scratch that question, just found it lol. But any pointers will still be appreciated
So you are set?

Are you on linux? If you are, then i sugest installing android utility, its probably the simplest way of getting everything installed and organize it all together. It installs dsixda rom kitchen, apktool, simpla adb interface-im out of town at the moment but when i get back (friday night) i can upload some pics of the android utility

For example the camera mod where you can take pics with the power button? I have the apk but when I replace it at system/app it Fc's. Do I need to put the other files that come with it in my rom? Same problem with EPM. I have the settings apk but it doesn't work..

For camera I believe you will also need to pull the camera firmware apk too-so you need to put the modded camera.apk and camera firmware.apk in your from (both can be obtained from any of bigfaus roms
For epm you need more than just the settings apk, you also need to replace the frameworks that come with epm (policy.jar, framework-res.apk, and framework-res.jar) I believe that's all you need
As always, if you choose to upload your rom for others be sure to give credit-bigfau for camera, and I'm assuming you got epm from dman so dman for epm
Sent from my SGH-I997 using XDA
Also for battery mods (and other stuff too) a great place to go is a website called UOT kitchen-just choose your battery mod then upload your frameworks and it will place the modded battery in there for you, then replace your old frameworks with the new ones from uot kitchen
*do this after you have epm set up and running...unless you plan on doing it manually using dmans how to guide*

Alot of people have been asking me how i ported Slim ICS, soooo...i made a tutorial on how i port AOSP ICS roms...this is a general tutorial that should be just enough to get the port to boot. your port will not be flawless and it will probably have some major bugs that need fixing which are usually fixed by libs.
This should work with all AOSP ICS roms except those formated in a MTD file system (MTD is not supported by the infuse)...but for best compatibilty use a similar phone like the galaxy s...also before porting if you plan on uploading it you must get permission first!!! Dont make the same mistake i made with slim...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loFHhYf0ca4
Guide:
***DISCLAIMER***
i am not responsible to any damdge caused to your phone by following this tutorial, you are doing this at your own risk. Before beginning you can not be afraid to mess with system file, to experiment, to get boot loops or even completely destroy your phone-for the infuse this is highly unlikely
if you fear bootloops or bricking a phone than you should not follow this tutorial
this guide should work for all phones and all AOSP roms, however every rom is different so some may require extra steps which you will be on your own for...this should be enough to get you to boot up though.
***END OF DISCLAIMER***
if you have any questions please feel free to comment bellow, dont message me on youtube i probably wont answer...if you do comment i may or may not help you, but maybe somebody else will. i have a busy life, and am constantly busy with the infuse and can not spend the time to address everyones issues...but by commenting maybe some one will help.
TOOLS/PROGRAMS NEEDED:
1) 7zip or other archive program
2) text editor, for windows i would use notepad++
STEPS:
1) download CM9 for your device or other AOSP based ics rom ***This is your base rom, you will use this to replace files in the rom you want to port***
What ever firmware your base is is the firmware you will be able to port...EX: 4.0.4 base=4.0.4 port
***for this tut i will be using CM9 4.0.4 for the infuse found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1601844 ***
2) download rom you want ported ***it can be from any phone, but for best compatibilty/least amount of bugs use a rom from a similar device, since i have an infuse i will use a Galaxy S ICS rom"
3) open up the CM9 or whatever base rom you are using with 7zip (dont extract it just view the archive...for 7zip right click rom, go to 7zip option and choose view archive)
4) delete the following folders in the system folder: app, framework, media, and fonts
5) open up the rom you want to port and use the app, framework, media, and fonts folder to replace the ones you just deleted in the cm9 base
6) copy libandroid_runtime.so *located in /system/lib/* from the rom you want to port into the cm9 base (you are replacing the one already in there) keep a copy of the one in CM9...if it doesnt boot up put the CM9 one back in
OPTIONAL/NOT NEEDED to make the rom run
a) go to build.prop and change the name of the rom
b) change the name of the CM9 base zip to whatever you are porting
7) place the rom on your sd card and flash...if you get bootloops do a logcat
If your rom is unresponsive/not working right you may need to replace some stuff in the /system/lib/ with stuff from the rom you are porting (just compare the rom you are porting with cm9 and whenever you see something missing in the CM9 base or dif size switch it over BUT keep a backup of the unresponsive one that booted...this part is all trial and error) i can not help you with this part...you are on your own, but feel free to comment and i may try and help or someone else may try and help
Also logcats will help in diagnosing problems...
please dont pm me for help, comment on this thread and if i have time i will try and help...or someone else will. im really busy, im a junior in highschool, so i have homework monday-friday, not to mention that my 92 year old great aunt is moving in with us as she can no longer take care of her self alone so i will be busy taken her to appointments and what not.
If i could i would help each and every one of you guys...but i just dont have the time to help everyone so if we can restrict the questions and answers to here hopefully we can limit the amount of questions asked.
Saved for Q&As...

I mean YOU know you can just get the latest OPENSENSATION BUILD, then change the CM9 theme to that, install LG HOME and be on your way. Devs have already provided us with BRILLIANT CM9 and we dont need them to waste time on things like this. If you want it, you can easily install a couple of apks yourself. this is all it is.
Anyhow no hate intended, just download the theme apk install it, follow direction in lg forum and install it and be on your merry way. This is way to simple for any devs to waste time on. Be glad you have CM9 and will have CM10 while HTC is figuring out how to beat Samsung.

i already try but example for lockscreen i not have linux and cant use diff/patch. I want the theme is default, cant edit framework apk for make this for default theme. And i not have idea for remove a voice from menu of lg launcher (force close). And for all this reason i need dev
bump a pmed a dev and this say help me with this but if other person want make the personally version is accepted.
In that case can't wait to try myself

The launcher can be added to system/app. For the lockscreen, there must be a way to merge the updater.script and the binary to the existing ones, i think it should be done with META-INF also. And there would be a possibility to replace system theme with the theme you requested.
Wait for the first release
Stumbled upon this recent discovery and just wanted to share the wealth! I extracted the MMS.apk from AOKP build 4 to see if it would work with Touchwiz and it does! Quick reply in the notifications window and all. Install it like any other system app; you'll need to be rooted and have a root explorer:
1. Download MMS.apk from below
2. Move to SD Card
3. ***Backup Touchwiz Messaging App "SecMMS.apk"*** by renaming the file to "SecMMS.apk.bak"
4. Move the downloaded MMS.apk to system/app
5. Fix Permissions to rw-r-r
6. Reboot
7. Hit your dougie or other victory dance of your choosing
I've attached screenshots to show that this is indeed working. The ROM I tried it on is incubus' JellyWiz RLS7 but it should work on any rom. I'm not responsible if you brick your phone or mess up your messaging app but it's pretty straight forward! If you're scared, go to church... or just nandroid :silly:
This is my first "helpful" post so if it's in the wrong section or if I've done something else that may cause WWIII than just let me know and I will fix it. I didn't see any other threads like this one though!
Edit: Didn't test thoroughly enough and as other users have pointed out, it FC's when trying to send or receive a picture message. Still, for someone who likes the quick reply, emoji, look and feel of AOSP, I think that it's a small price to pay. Also, this will ONLY work on Jelly Bean Roms!
Thanks

You should probably add that this will only work on jellybean based roms.
Edit: i'd like to point out that this isn't the most recent version of CM's messaging app. It's missing a lot of the things that they added.

Would love to have this though! Its a start...
I've been trying to get this to work since the day I bought the phone. I was using (and still am on my work phone) an inverted AOSP MMS.apk that I just absolutely dig. I was sad when it didn't work on Touchwiz ROMS.
I dug a bit deeper. I got to where you guys were at, I managed to get it to install on a JB TW ROM but it crashed on MMS, just as you all are experiencing. I dug deeper.
I next tried a logcat to see if I could sniff out the issue. Nothing was glaringly obvious as being the issue. I even went so far as to Pastebin it for a well known dev on here, and he pointed it to it being the Gallery as being the issue. Since it's an AOSP app, it was probably looking for an AOSP Gallery. So I tried that. I replaced the TW Gallery with the AOSP Gallery. Still, nothing. The dev hasn't had time to really help me out since, he's a pretty busy guy and isn't even supporting the device, he was more helping me since we're more friends than anything else.
I'm going to see if I can get ahold of another dev on here and see if he can spare some time to help. Problem is, he doesn't have this phone, but I do believe he has a Galaxy Note, or the Skyrocket. I PM'd a few devs supporting our phone with ROM's to ask if they could help, and I didn't receive a response. If anyone knows anyone who can help, I'd be glad to pass along what I have.
I would REALLY like to get this working on TW ROM's. I'd settle for the old school AOSP inverted one I'm using, but the CM/AOKP one is probably pretty similar.
I managed to get an ICS, AKA non Quick Reply version, working with TW builds. Should work with any ICS/JB builds. The file is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1921429
Can someone tell me wat im doing wrong or wat exactly im missing...i followed the instructions and the app itself is working but it's not popping up

Thanks. Seems to work fine on stock/rooted TW. No QuickReply, but I think QuickMessage doesn't woked that well in CM10 anyway. I use SMS Popup from the Market.

Nooooo.... You need the tw framework for it to work. No tw apps will work on aosp or aokp.
