Sooooooo if you own the VZW G2...I KNOW YOU HATE THE POWER ON/OFF SOUNDS JUST AS MUCH AS I DO
Sooooooo I made a couple for my personal use but id thought id spread the wealth lol.
The PowerOn sound byte is the original PS1 system start up
Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mu627jjddxo7bz8/PowerOn.ogg
The PowerOff sound byte is from Streets of Rage 2 Round Clear
Download: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dx9iak6d016ctsc/PowerOff.ogg
Instructions
I use Root Explorer but any file browsing app should work for you and follow this path
system/media/audio/ui
Look for PowerOn.ogg and PowerOff.ogg
Rename name them to PowerOn.bak and PowerOff.bak
(To have and to hold till death do you part....orrrrr you just so happen to need them later on and rename them back to the original...you choice)
Take you newly downloaded files and Copy/Paste them into the folder and PROFIT!!!!!!!!
It works immediately so feel free to restart the phone and enjoy
THIS HAS BEEN TESTED ON THE VZW VARIANT
FEEL FREE TO TEST ON A DIFFERENT VARIANT IF YOU WANT BUT I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR YOU NUKING YOUR PHONE
Thanks. Worked for me.
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk 4
Finally worked, had to copy + rename and copy again (so I have .bak and .ogg files there)
PS1 sound brings back memories
So in theory if we just rename those files we wont have any sound... right?

Have any other sound files?
Ill try to add more to the OP. Ive been extra busy as of late so ill get to it when I can
Bump so I took OP's idea and expanded it to lock/unlock (the files are in the same location
system/media/audio/ui
Method involves Zedge to get MP3s (c/p to PC) then use VLC to convert to OGG files (c/p to the path above)
Best way to get audio track is to use Zedge, get whatever notification you want (get short one for unlock) then copy file(s) to PC and
open VLC ---> Media ---> Convert/Save ---> Add... (this should open popup) ---> Convert/Save (bottom right next to cancel); this opens new popup ---> under profile select 'Audio - Vorbis (OGG)' then select destination ----> ***MUST IMPORTANT PART*** Change the name to particle_lock or particle_unlock (if you use a different unlock animation then use that name respectively) ---> hit start then c/p to path above on your phone
I recommend changing the original sound files to file extension .bak (like OP recommended) so you can return to normal if something goes wrong etc. Oyeah, the lock sound lasts longer while the unlock is quite short so keep that in mind.
Sorry if I complicated simple thing but hope this helps someone, also all credit to Zei (OP) since this is just an extension of his wonderful MOD.

Successfully cracked the file Bruno Mars - Somewhere In Brooklyn
Note to users: I am not responsible if you wreck your device. If you do this properly, chances of breaking your device is ZERO!
Credits to: motsach89(he shared his tap tap song)
I have cracked this file to run on any android phone.
Tools needed :
1)Root access on phone
2)Root explorer or (any root level access file explorer)
Download this file: http://www.google.com
Then unzip the file into any location
Copy folder brunomars.ttrTheme into [sdcard/android/data/com.tapulous..../files/Themes]
Copy folder inside tracks into [sdcard/android/data/com.tapulous..../files/Tracks]
Lastly, using root explorer, copy the folder in [data/data/com.tapulous..../files/tracks]
This data/data/com.tapulous folder can only be found if you press the "..." in root explorer all the way untill it disappears.( Also known as the parent folder)
Open tap tap and play the song!
Thks to the person who bought and supplied the song. But without cracking, we cannot use it straightaway...
For generous people, please share your songs for others to use. Send me the data file, theme and track so that i can crack it and upload.

hello did any1 try it yet? ppl seem to miss this thread...
downloading try asap. XD
cant we use the version of TTR on iphone? they say that we just need to convert a file to xml. (>.<)
nope i think it is unconvertible, the format for the code is different. If you see, iphone has a info.plist but we have xml file, and our info.plist is inside the data/data... at root.
By the way both plist and xml can be renamed in to txt files and edited. I opened the android and the ios ver, i noticed a huge difference in the code. The IOS has a long continuous key while android has many sub keys.
well.. the TTR on android is different from iphone version. the tapping doesnt affect song.
oh yeah. the result.. its working! thanks a lot. hope too see more lists of songs.
actually it is the xml file that contains the taps.
And I would need people to share their songs with me
Enjoy.
Is there any other way without using root?

-FlyX Boot Animation With Music v1-
Some may remember a youtube video of a review of FlyX, it had some pretty cool music running over the youtube video.
I remember seeing it and thinking that would be a pretty cool bootanimation.
Well here it is with a quick walkthrough on how to get it working.
Running on Droid X 2.3.3 Liberty 3 v2, Though I don't think there is any reason it shouldn't work on any other phone(samsung, htc, etc), Android version(2.2, 2.3, etc), or Rom(Justice, CM7, etc).
NOTE! Requires root and knowledge of using a root explorer, and just like any other thing you do to your phone that manufacturers don't want you to do, voids warranty, and can brick your phone(aka expensive paperweight). Proceed at your own risk, XDA nor I take any responsibility for what you do to your own property.
Now after that annoying disclaimer lets get going.
BTW: I made this like a year ago, it's not to my opinion 100% perfect, the music will end about a second or so before the lockscreen shows, and if you have a long long boot up time, the music will end earlier than that. Aside from that I'm proud.
-Things you need
A rooted phone
SUFBS android app (or any root explorer app you prefer)
FlyX_BootAnimation_WithMusic_v1.zip
-Download FlyX_BootAnimation_WithMusic_v1.zip, inside this .zip file includes 2 .mp3 files, and the bootanimation.zip.
-Using Windows, Unzip FlyX_BootAnimation_WithMusic_v1.zip with your favorite unzipper, I prefer 7zip.
-Inside will reside bootanimation.zip, bootmusic3.mp3, and bootmusic4.mp3.
-Transfer those files to anywhere in your sdcard of your phone in any way you prefer. (Using the usb cable may be quicker if your not set up to transfer through a network)
-Next safely eject and remove phone from computer.
-Using SUFBS on your phone, or again any root explorer, mount system and data as RW.
-Navigate to where you have the bootanimation.zip you just downloaded on your sdcard, and copy it.
-(Note!This is for Liberty, locations of the !original! bootanimation.zip may be different)
Now go back to the root of your phone and open the system folder. (from here on out be careful, files in system are important, and you can brick your phone if your careless)
In the system folder open the media folder.
Inside the media folder should reside the original bootanimation.zip.
Rename the origional bootanimation.zip, "bootanimation.zip.bak". Simply adding ".bak" to the end. (This is so you don't have to move or delete the original)
Now paste the bootanimation.zip that you copied from the sdcard inside system/media.
Congrats! you have the boot animation, however there will be no sound yet.
-Go back to the sdcard and copy both bootmusic3.mp3, and bootmusic4.mp3.
-Navigate back to the system folder, back into the media folder, and inside the media folder open the audio folder.
Inside the audio folder there should be a notifications folder, open it.
Inside the notifications folder, paste both bootmusic3.mp3, and bootmusic4.mp3 here.
-You can now exit SUFBS (or whichever root explorer you were using), and restart your phone.
Congratulations! If all went well you should have a snazzy bootanimation with music. If not, retrace your steps. Some files depending on the rom may have bootanimation.zip in a different folder, or the location of the music may be different, but for droidx liberty, this is the correct file locations.
Anyone that doesn't like the music or bootanimation can change it as they see fit, I take minimal credit, the bootanimation was made by WJD Designs, the music by the artist who made it, and the files for r2d2 bootanimation were made by Motorola or maybe LucasArts. I just mixed it all together, and made it work.
Happy Androiding!
-David
Thought a video is worth a thousand words, so here it is in action
pardon the crappy audio, the mic wasn't that great, the actual music sounds a lot better
can u please reupload the files cuz megaupload is now down forever
You know i heard something about that, that really pissed me off.
Im currently in the middle of building a new pc, ill try to upload using a laptop tonight.
Any good sites that made it easy like megaupload, that anyone could recommend?
I bought an HTC Incredible from a friend for 40 bucks with the express purpose of converting it to a dedicated GPS and MP3 player for the car.
While this seems a simple enough task, there were a few hurdles to jump through to make it happen.
Process steps:
1. Root the phone and install CyanogenMod 7.2 (instructions easily available elsewhere on XDA - unlock the bootloader at HTCDev first to make things easy)
2. Download CoPilot Live from the market - this gives you GPS capability without the need for a data connection, then download the US Map
3. Download PlayerPro from market - configure it the way you want.
4. Put the phone in Airplane Mode and enable GPS. Turn on Wi-Fi when required. If anyone knows of a good way to completely remove the phone without breaking it, I'm all ears - I tried renaming telephone_provider.apk and phone.apk, but that just caused an error loop that required a battery pull and reflash of the ROM to correct.
If you run into static or distortion in the playback (I did, and almost ditched the idea altogether because of it) try these steps:
1. Download and install CDex
2. Download and install MP3Gain
3. Copy contents of music folder to a desktop folder
4. Open MP3Gain and drag all of the music from the SDcard to your desktop folder. Delete music files from SDcard. (best to make another copy of folder so you can keep originals in case something goes wrong)
5. Delete all files from the PlayerPro folder except "Stats", ".nomedia" and "playerpro.pro"
6. Turn off USB connection and ON THE PHONE go to PlayerPro>menu button>Music Library>Refresh mediastore
7. Select All and pull all of the music from the folder into the MP3Gain window.
8. Select all in the window and choose analysis>track analysis from the menu bar.
9. You'll see that some of the files are highlighted red, these are clipped files. Leave the gain at default (89.0) and select all again (may not be required, but I did it anyway) then hit Modify Gain>apply track gain from the menu bar. You'll see that the "Y's" in the clipping column disappear, and the volume and track gain values drop to @89.0 and 0, respectively.
10. Close MP3Gain
Now...
1. Open CDex and go to Options>Settings:
a. General>Directories & Files:Set to somewhere easy to find.
b. Encoding>Encoders: Under Encoder options set Bitrate Min and Max to 128kbps
c. Encoding>Tags: if you're doing one album from the same artist, go ahead and fill all this in and set a picture. if not, skip it.
2. Drag all modified files into the window.
3. Choose "Encode" from the popup window
3. Reconnect phone re-enable USB connection
4. When files are finished, go to the output folder and copy over the MP3 Files to your music folder on device.
5. Disconnect USB and refresh playerpro mediastore again.
NOTE: If you have multiple artists and want to tag it all so it looks better, use MP3Tag to get all the information in quickly and easily. Good source for album art is Wikipedia... Just be sure to go to playerpro>menu>Look and Feel> and check "Prefer ID3 artwork" to use your own pictures.
You may have a quicker solution, but this went pretty fast and it got rid of all the static and hissing noises during playback in the car through the headphone port to stereo connection.
As mentioned before - if anyone has a tip for safely removing the phone functions, I'd appreciate it.
Putting the phone in airplane mode should be good enough, its not worth risking OS stability by trying to remove system apps unless you really need the space.
MP3Gain is great, I've been using it for years. I find 89 a little lower than average for newer music, (95-98 seems more average) but this could be because they are releasing music too loud these days, see "loudness war" on wikipedia.
If you are listening to music using headphones on Gingerbread or newer, I'd recommend Equalizer, a system wide EQ:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.smartandroidapps.equalizer
If you are listening in the car its not worth using as car stereos have their own equalizers and powerful enough amplifiers.
I don't really need the space, it's just a "can it be done?" thing.
Ideally, I'd like remove everything related to the telephone with the exception of the contact list...
a guide you might like

I have a guide to do exactly what you are looking to do.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2644588
After getting disturbed in my sleep for two nights I started to search for a solution to get rid of that annoying notification sounds.
JB seem to have an option to suppress notifications for each app, but for ICS that does not seem to be possible.
I was forced to make up a solution myself, so I started to locate the notification sound and was able to find them in /mnt/asec/com.ea.game.simpsons4_row-1/pkg.apk
All which has to be done now to sleep easy, is to remove the .mp3 files from the apk. To do that you need root access:
Code:
# mount |grep simpson
This will output something like:
Code:
/dev/block/dm-22 /mnt/asec/com.ea.game.simpsons4_row-1 vfat ro.dirsync,nosuid,nodev,relatime,uid=1000,fmask=0222,dmask=0222,codepage=cp437,iocharset=iso8859-1,shortname=mixed,utf8,errors=remount-ro 0 0
The relevant part is "/dev/block/dm-22 /mnt/asec/com.ea.game.simpsons4_row-1" take note of that or keep it in the shell history for reference.
Now do (while using the path and device information you obtained above):
Code:
umount /mnt/asec/com.ea.game.simpsons4_row-1
mount -t vfat -o rw /dev/block/dm-22 /mnt/asec/com.ea.game.simpsons4_row-1
Now you have read/write mounted the folder of the game for further tinkering with the apk.
If you cannot unmount and get a message like:
Code:
failed: Device or resource busy
Head to Settings / Apps and force the game to stop. Now repeat the unmounting and it should work.
The next step is to copy the file pkg.apk to a destination of you choice (e.g. /mnt/sdcard/).
Open the file as zip with Total Commander or any other program able to zip/unzip apks.
Now navigate inside the archive to the folder "res/raw" (Total Commander will show in the location bar "/mnt/sdcard/pkg.apk/res/raw")
You should now see a lot of mp3 files.
If you are as much a Homer fan than I am you should extract those files and hear them before you delete them all. My favorite: "Are you cheating on me with another game"
Ok back to the subject:
Select all mp3 files in this folder (pkg.apk/res/raw) and delete them.
Now you can copy the file pkg.apk back to the game folder, overwriting the original one.
You will still get the game notifications, but they are silent.
I expect that this procedure has to be repeated after an update of the game.
Enjoy!
Nevermind...I did it my self. I found them in a TitaniumBackup i had on my phone

Where can I edit this in JB?
[EDIT]
Lol, I found it. In App-Info you can uncheck Show Notification.[/EDIT]
For what it's worth, I managed to do this in JB just by copying the .apk from the /data/app/) directory to the SD card, editing it with Total Commander, and re-installing it.
Here's my instructions (thanks to S-I-M-O-N above for the idea!). I put them on the EA site (and mirrored it here) in case it doesn't stick on EAs site.
NOTE: This is not for the types that don't mind risking losing their game/messing up your phone. It worked for me, but try it at your own risk. This also requires some technical knowledge, if you don't understand any of this, DON'T TRY IT!
This works in Android 4.1.2 (JellyBean) and version 4.1.3 of the Tapped Out app. This may break in future versions *if* the .apk is updated (although most updates are done within the app, so it doesn't affect the .apk). And I suppose the developers could go out of their way to make sure this actually breaks the game, but I would think their time would be better spent putting in the option to turn the noise off.
This will require root access, there is no way to do this without it. Period.
First, find your Tapped Out .apk flie (it should be in your /data/app folder, called something like com.ea.gam.simpsons*), and copy it out to your SD card (DON'T uninstall it, just copy/paste). Grab your favorite .apk extraction/editor app (I use Total Commander), and go into your copy on the sd card. You need to delete all the files in the res/raw directory (these are the notification sounds). Once your done, install the modified .apk file. It will overwrite the copy there, but save all your settings (including your name).
I would turn off automatic updates (from the My Apps section of the Market/Play Store) so a new version doesn't sneak sounds back in. You'll know when you have to re-do this for a new version.
I'm tried to change the notification sound using the GaidinBDJ's method, but instead of delete the mp3, I replaced it with different MP3 files, unfortunately the result is that the notification are silent... Is possible to change the notification sound?
P.S.: Sorry for my poor english...

i might be mistaken and have misread, but you know you can change the notification sound volume of the game to Zero from inside the app itself? no need for modding/tweaking or whatever. i did this when i first got the game & just verified that it still works.
open the game > tap the saw/hammer icon in the bottom right of the screen > in the new dialogue box, tap the small "i" to the right of the video camera icon > check "push notifications OFF".
if this isn't what this thread addresses, i apologize.

Hey there!
Did anyone send you those .mp3 files?
I would also like to have them!
My phone is running androind 4.3 but it's not rooted. (to noob to do it) Can i reach the files without rooting my phone?
You can achieve this without root.
1. Get Apk Extractor and Total Commander from the Play Store.
2. Extract the apk file of the Simpsons game to your sdcard.
3. Open as zip the apk file with Total Commander.
4. Navigate to res/raw
5. Enjoy

Thanks a lot man.. Very helpfull! The wonders of Android.
But, can i get the sounds .mp3 besides the notification ones? The ones that belong to each caracther?
For example the "D'oh" sound on Homer.
Where is it stored? I looked it up in the other folders but couldn't find it..
Can you help me out once more?
Thanks in advance!
I'm clueless there too.
Sorry

I usually like to listen to music while playing games on my phone but the sounds from the game keeping ruining it. So i have been looking over the internet for this for quite some time now. Finally found a way.
Note: this can also be used to change the sound files to your songs choice..
No need of any coding knowledge or any extra application/software except for a file manager.
I am using ES File explorer.
Here goes
Goto /data/app
Find your app or game you want to remove sounds from
Copy the apk file to some place else on the sdcard or just create a backup
Goto the backup/copied file
Rename it from abcd.apk to abcd.zip
Open it( your file explorer should do it otherwise use RAR for andtoid app)
Goto assets/ (This is where the sound files are usually stored.. Dig a little deep if you have to. The folder will usually clearly say "Sound" or "Audio")
Delete it
Go back and rename abcd.zip to abcd.apk
Uninstall the previous version and install the new apk
Note: This is more of a permanent thing and will be useful if you dont like the audio of a game but it is still not the solution i really wanted. I wanted to be able to just disable the sound accessability of an app temporarily at my own discretion. So if anyone has the answer to that. Iam all ears.
