HI !
I have a Lenovo P770 with Android 4.1 (version S127).
How can I share 3G internet connection through USB or wireless?
I don't see any menu to allow this.

most of the time that kinda of stuff can cost money if you put a hotspot down (depends on your carrier) if you root it you can put down a hotspot for free

I need it to connect my laptop to internet when the normal internet connection is not available. Anyway I found that Lenovo P770 has a kind of software called personal Hot Spot that can be used to share internet. There is no need to root the phone. Are a lot of softwares that you can install to your smartphone and PC to share the internet through USB or Wifi.
Thanks anyway.!

[Q] Sharing PC internet connection to Android

Hi All,
Any chance to do this?
I knew we can share Android's internet connection to PC (via USB tethering) but what about the other way?
What if we want to use PC connectivity to Android via USB?
I mean imagine if we're at zone without GPRS/EDGE/3G and only copper line/broadband is available and no wifi router either (worst case scenario?)
p/s:.am using HTC Hero , Eclair 2.1
regards
This is not possible at the moment in stock OS . search for reverse tethering .There are crude workarounds for this .
Google just thinks everyone has internet on their phone all the time .

wifi hotspot tether android to android

Dear friends
I have samsung galaxy tab android and another android phone from spice mobile india.I want to tether this two devices. Can any one show me the light please.i dont know if the indian android phone has built in wifi hot spot system.
wifi tether
If you have rooted your phone you could give the app wifi tether a try, I've been able to connect a couple of devices with it.
Tethering
Hi,
this should not be complicated. On the android phone setup the wifi hot spot and this will simply be seen as a wifi router by the tablet. It actually does not matter what devices or operating system you are using on the client side.
Cheers,
Checklist
Not obviously for all. To use wifi hotspot, need to - enable data 3G/H (or 2G) on the rooted device
- enable wifi hotspot tethering on the rooted device (by an apps or an internal function)
- get the password and the name of the hotspot and write it on a paper
- on the client device, connect to the hotspot and write the password
- done
If your phone havent native tether you can install wifi tether from play store

If you're using an android phone you can set up your phone as a wifi hotspot. Settings/more/mobile network sharing. Not sure if your phone has to be rooted to do this.

Most of the time this feature is turned off by your carrier. You usually have to pay extra. But try wifi tether, barnacle from Google play there are some like pda that do not require root . good luck
Nice and easy to share celluar internet with your tablet. If you can't on your original, there is a few apps to help out with that on the play store. I perfer to use bluetooth to share the data, since it uses less battery power.
If you can't buy a Wifi/Bluetooth tethering app on your phone, you probably can on your tablet, and use a root file explorer to transfer the file from your tablet and install it on your phone. Just don't share that file with anyone else. You'll need to have your google play account on both devices, but it does work. Most Bluetooth tethering apps this way require a client and server, and don't work quite so well.
The second way you can go about it is more complex if your Celluar carrier has tethering turned off. Flash a non-tethering-blocked rom onto your phone (CyanogenMod works) and then just use the built in tethering. Bluetooth tethering this way works wonderfully.
And for both methods, might look into Tasker - an automation utility that can help set up connections when conditions are met.
But that is roughly your two options if your carrier has tethering blocked. Find an App or Flash your phone.
Good luck

[Q] WiFi Hotspot

Dear All,
I am currently using a Windows Vista based laptop with a Intel WiFi Link 5100 AGN wireless card in it with updated drivers. Now whenever I try connect using connectify to make a wireless hotspot it does create a hotspot, but on my android handset I can't find any wifi network in range. Pls suggest a way to reverse tether my phone with my pc without the need of rooting the phone. I am currently using a Android v4.0.I am using internet through a USB Data Card.
Thanx All.

your going to have to root it to be able to tether pc to your phone or phone to pc.
use "pda net+" for usb theathring wifi hot spot as wel as bluetooth theathring.
There's another app called FoxFi that claims to handle wifi tether w/out root. But I've never used it ,and i'm not sure if it works to tether in either direction, but worth a quick look .... (can't post a link cuz i'm not >10 posts yet)

Creating An Access Point

Hello I'm sorry if this is in the wrong spot, but I am new to these forms and I have a simple question about creating an access point on my tablet. My Lenovo tablet is rooted and I've been searching for an app that will create an access point.
What I want to do is use my wifi and then use my tablet to connect to that wifi and then use the tablet as a wifi extender. I know they have fqrouter2, but that is for any os under 4.4. I'm currently on 4.4.4. Any suggestions for an app that can turn my android device into a wifi extender?
Thank you in advance.

Have you tried PDAnet for tablets, or Foxfi?
Sent from my SM-S903VL using Tapatalk
Yes I have tried Pdanet. That will disconnect me off of my current wifi and try to host a hotspot off of my own cell phone data.

I don't think it's possible to have both WiFi and WiFi hotspot turned on simultaneously.
What I do though, is connect my phone to the WiFi, then use the Bluetooth tethering feature on the phone to create the access point. That could work for you, if all your devices support Bluetooth tethering.
The range isn't as good as your WiFi router, but its roughly as good as the WiFi AP you'd create with your phone/tablet
There use to be an app that was called Fqrouter2 that did. Unfortunately my worthless Vita doesn't support Bluetooth tethering for internet access.
