Try to update firmware that goes with the new sense 4.22. The only problem is when I get to fastboot flash zip ......... It won't go through. I updated when 4.3 came out with the the file provided by h8 on cyanogen mod. It was an application though. The one provided by turge is a zip file. I renamed the firmware zip file to evita just because it is so long. Any idea what I'm doing wrong.
Thanks in advance

What do you mean it won't go through? Are you s-off? What does the command prompt return?
Sent from my Evita
Yes s off and it says file not found I think I can't exactly remember. I put the zip in my directory but do I unzip it

Hey.... how do i find out what firmware i am running? Phone came with gb, then ota to ics...... i ran virtually all major roms from the dev thread witout any issues and now running cm10 jellybean...
Is there a way of seeing the fw version?thx
Sent from my HTC Sensation using xda app-developers app
I'm pretty sure there is no way to check fw version but to get a guesstimate when did you update to ics? If you updated within the past month or two most likely 3.33 if awhile ago them most likely 3.32 either one should be fine for most roms.

There is a way to check the firmware
From fastboot/bootloader
Type this command
fastboot getvar version-main
This would give your firmware

is the name proper? if its proper and didnt worked then we should go the other way
copy the PG58IMG.zip to the adb folder
then connect the phone from fastboot/bootloader and these commands one by one
fastboot erase cache (if failed ignore it)
fastboot oem rebootRUU (black screen with silver HTC)
fastboot flash zip PG58IMG.zip (make sure the names are matching and ...ignore the green progress bar ..it wont complete)
fastboot reboot (rebooting as you are updated now )
Does anyone have the update file that works with the 4g no matter how much I change it it says can't open pg58img.zip

All updates done..I'm a beta tester lol I can fix it easy enough I'm more interested in the cause.
Edit: restored backup copied file to new folder, installed kernel. File dissapeared again. Grabbed copy I put in download folder edited and pasted in right directory, rebooted and alls good.. just curious why I had to go that route

You could flash the rooted ota that was released on Phandroid.com. you need to be s-off though.

Yes but not with Windows with Linux (Kubuntu which is a flavor of Ubuntu)
I couldn't get adb to recognize my phone so since I was dualbooting Linux already I used that. If you need help let me know.

I have stock rom. But its rooted.Supercid is 11111111 and S-OFF.I unrooted it using the unroot option in the superuser. But i need the stock recovery so that i can get the ota update.
All you need to do is run the appropriate RUU for your phone. Look in the resource thread that is a sticky in the Android Development section, you'll find links there.

While it's easier just to RUU, it is also possible to extract the recovery image from an OTA zip file.

He wants the stock recovery so he can update via the ota. I figured less work to just run the ruu.

I agree. I just like throwing in alternative solutions for learning purposes. Ruuing is certainly the easiest

i'm about to run the full ota. i'll pot my findings after.
*edit* No matter what I tried, it wouldn't let me update with the OTA.
I'm going to flash the firmware.zip instead. -_- Bah~
Update: I successfully flashed the entire firmware.zip and am now going to flash the ROM. I will attempt to update via the OTA by inserting my modified firmware.zip first.
If that doesn't work, I will just flash the ROM.zip. I'll update this post with whatever managed to work for me.
*edit*
I can confirm that touchscreen works in twrp using 2.15 hboot as I had to flash twrp to move the OTA zip file over to my sd card
*edit* modified firmware.zip within the OTA did not work. So I will just flash the rom. I do however have the firmware.zip flashed successfully so I expect things to run smoother. Only time will tell.
Thanks exad, I just updated the official way through ruumode and then flashed twrp and the boot.img(just to make sure it's a controlled experiment).
Everything still the same, working perfectly I will report if the signal drops or random reboot happens.
And now off to bed.

so far, according to my usage in the past few hours, there is no harm in keeping the kernel included in the firmware.zip
Anyone who wants to flash the firmware.zip, I have linked instructions and and the zip file in this thread:

Hboot 2.15 at&t ?
I notice a few of you have AT&T phones, but I'm having great difficulty finding any info on the 2.15 HBOOT.
I am currently on my HTC ONE XL with HBOOT 2.14 using AT&T (United States obviously). Running Magio 4.0.0 and about to update to 4.0.1
So does this HBOOT 2.15 exist for this phone and if so can someone kindly link me to it??
Whether the phone is at&t or not doesn't matter, the at&t One X is the same phone as the HTC One XL, it's just branded differently. Look in the Android Development section of our forum, you'll find links plus instructions to the firmware in Turge's stock ROM thread in the OP.
