[Q] Rooting Samsung Galaxy W - General Questions and Answers

Hi,
At the stage of Recovery mode I do not get the apply sdcard:update.zip option. I only get update from sd card. On selecting that I do not get unroot.zip . Could you please advise.
Also for newbies is it possible to get a simple how to root point by point guide. Also, after rooting, how to update and to which android update, removal of unwanted apps etc.
Thanks

Its because you don't have CWM recovery and it cannot be done with the stock 3e recovery. Most of all, if you had done a search, you would have found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1474, which is where you will find everything concerning your phone model. guides. rooting etc

On Verizon correct??? There is no root method available for 4.1.1 yet. You will need to use mattlgroff's utility to return to 4.04. That can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1970267
-Choose option 1 and restore to 4.0.4.
-Once on 4.0.4 go to settings - about phone - system update and take the 6MB update
-Use the utility again and choose the root option
-Once rooted download and install Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper from the market or use the utility to install it for you.
-Open Voodoo app and protect root
-Temp unroot
-Take the JB OTA
-Open voodoo and restore root.

How to change the applications for double installation?

Hello to all,
I hope not to have the wrong section, but frankly I consider this more of a trick that programming something.
Let me explain my problem.
I tried in every way to the root to my phone, but to no avail.
Basically I wanted to run the root simply to uninstall Whatsapp (which is a native application and it does not work because it was too dated).
Once you have uninstalled that version, I would have installed a new one.
Being that I can not update the version that is on, I wanted to ask if there was a way to change, starting from the installation file name
the app. The idea is to show the system with a different app and then install two WhatsApp that difference in name only and folders process.
A minimum of programming experience I have it even if not directly in Android environment
I hope I was clear enough.
Try to have different signatures in whatsapp.
If younwanna have to,
But I suppose it not a noob thing.
I have this for youtube 2 youtube installed at the same time.

ok, this guide is not meant for your tablet but the issue is the same, so you need to understand the issue and try to work it out similarly
the reason being encryption failed to complete due to loss of power and your data is corrupted read this

Whenever you have a problem with your Phone, power it down, remove battery, remove SIM card and Ext SD card and press and hold your power button for at least 30 seconds to a min, before reinserting battery and trying or look here for other solutions
