For those of you who want to try the new 3.18.709.2 firmware.
Here is a custom package I made, containing all the 3.18.709.2 files but recovery
is changed for TRWP recovery 2.6.3.0
Also the RED WARNING from the Hboot is removed!
I am running this firmware at the moment, and everything is fine!
Check screenshot for information of the new Radio, enjoy!
Warning:
The boot.img from 3.18.709.2 doesn't like the 3.17 ROM's at the moment, so Camera won't work!
You can fix it by flashing Elemental or Bulletproof or the stock boot.img from 3.17.
If you flashed the firmware package first and after that you flashed a 3.17 ROM you won't have this problem
removed
Flashed it all OK thanks for sharing mate.

That's a general issue with custom hboot, discussed already here.
BTW, if you got S-Off with revone you should update to v0.2.1 that prevents exactly this:
UPDATED revone binary (v0.2.1)
* Safety update: No longer allows -s 3 since this can lead to bricks with custom HBOOTs, use: fastboot oem writesecureflag 3 (which is safer - and checks such things)
* Fix: delusions of grandeur - revone now no longer reports success when it fails.
* Outside chance some previous failures will now be successful but most likely they will just correctly report failure.
Please note that due to the safety update ALL previous versions have been replaced with v0.2.1 and are hence no longer supported.

You cannot flash a custom ROM or kernel with a locked bootloader.
If you have noticed .. when we boot into the bootloader.. the Hboot verifies some images PJxxxx... A locked bootloader will search for all the images i.e. stock system.img stock boot.img recovery.img and i think userdata.img too...
And we cannot " LOCK " our bootloader once it is unlocked. We can only " RELOCK " it..
Stock Recovery ? I havent tried but check THIS out..
Cheers bro.
Thanks. I got stock recovery from there...
I know about "relocked" thing but I had saw somewhere that appropriate RUU can make it "Locked"..
I've not tried yet as I've not found any RUU for mine...

If you have anything except a signed HTC official RUU on your phone, and you "relock" your bootloader, your phone wont go past the hboot... First hand experience says so..
If you wanna lock your bootloader, you MUST have an RUU ready to install.. A locked bootloader wont even let you boot into a custom rom/recovery..
Even "fastboot boot" wont work...

I don't think both are signed by HTC. If what sachin said about -The signatures used on Rom and boot should match -
Then both won't work -you'll be stuck at fastboot.

On older HTC devices and most other devices, you can relock the bootloader even while using custom ROMs and kernels. But now HTC doesn't want us to relock bootloader except for flashing signed images. You can try flashing the signed (unmodified) images of stock kernel, ROM and recovery manually and then relocking. I'm not sure whether this would work, I can't even imagine going back to stock ROM :silly:

I believe the stock 1.43 boot is untouched. Not sure whether the system partition's signature is verified as it's too large. You can try 1.43 boot.img along with the recovery image from latest RUU
BTW, if your radio is 1.11.82.30 you can also try searching for an RUU with a newer radio version

I am currently using [Official PACman All-in-1-ROM Ver. 22.0.1[4-3-13] .
I have Hboot 1.14, S-On. Do I need to have S-Off to connect to Wifi?

You probably need to update your firmware to JB. There is a conflict between ICS firmware and the JB base that can cause your wifi to go haywire.
You do need to be s-off first, however, or you may get a brick running the RUU.

Run the 3.17 (non-US) or 3.18 RUU (AT&T), depending on what phone you've got. You need to be s-off first or you may brick if you are supercid. You'll lose root, but getting it back is just a matter of pushing custom recovery back on and flashing superuser. You'll also need to downgrade your touchscreen firmware to use an AOSP rom; there's a thread in the Original Development forum on how to do it.
I'm not guaranteeing this will solve the problem, but I was having similar issues and this solved it.

i figured out getting s-off. so after i run the 3.18RUU, do i have to use the following root method?http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2285086? Sorry if I'm asking so many questions, just a little confused.
No. You can just flash recovery after ruu. Then either flash a rom or flash superuser if you want to stay stock rooted.
Sent from my One X using xda app-developers app
Correct, once you're s-off, you can never permanently lose root. No need for any exploits as you'll always have the ability to push a custom recovery back on and flash what you like.

Yea thats what I always thought, was just bein sarcastic.. So for the sake of the thread and the O.P. To retain root you would have to flash recovery after running the RUU correct? Because the gentleman that I was originally responding to stated that theres no need to flash recovery, that the RUU does this for us...
Yes you need to flash TWRP again after you run an RUU. The RUU only flashes the stock recovery.

Ya I used that one click tool for XL to get the recovery..now on to further questions instead of making a new thread i decided to reuse this one.. anyways after I got through all that i decided to go ahead and flash some custom roms and ended up with the same results when ever someone sends me pics or videos through text, they will download fine until i connect to a wifi, then i get an error saying "couldn't download now, please try again later. Even when I disconnect from the wifi i get the same error and sometimes will not even get data untill I wipe and re flash but everything works fine with the stock rom.. what could cause this i have tried messing with the data options in settings and nothing works. rom's I have used are
Root box
slim bean
xylon
all of them have acted that same and all use the 3.4 kernel. so I'm stuck on stock until i can figure out whats going on :crying: so any help is greatly appreciated :good:
I've never used WiFi with those ROMs so I'm not sure. But are you sure your apn settings are correct? Also, have you tried toggling airplane mode on and off after disconnecting from WiFi?

Ya tried the apn settings and no go also airplane mode toggle will bring back 4g most of the time but still can't download any mms messages

Faults like this are usually caused by incorrect apn settings but I could be wrong.

Is this on AT&T or a different carrier?
Am I reading correctly, WiFi data works in general, mobile data works in general, just mms is not working?
Yes wifi data and mobile data work but mms won't download with either on custom roms only but will work fine on stock

Works for me on CM 10.2!
Never heard before that the radio can be flashed in Recovery Mode though.
This should work with AOSP ROMs as well, I suppose?

how did you install it on CM?? If you just did it through recovery I'm sure it's not reflecting in your CM
PS: Extracting the modem files from radio.img and copying it manually to system\etc\firmware seems to towrk in CM.

CM10.2 no longer includes radio files in that folder rather it uses the radio from the firmware. My guess it will be gone next time you flash.

sorry my mistake. I'm not on CM10.2. (illusion 2.1)
(for those who are on older versions the above method should work, although I don't know if 1.20 is better in some way. So far no difference for me)
Flashed radio in recovery
Flashed latest nightly
Radio still 1.20. CM uses the radio listed in the bootloader these days.

Flashed via recovery
Odyssey Rom
S-OFF
Are there any known benefits/issues with this radio?
I am on PAC 4.3 with Soff so should work I believe.
I had it running for 2 Days standby on Darkjelly (cm10.2)...all went well...then I did got outside and wanted to play Ingress....
freeze, reboot, bootloop without end.
I did flash 1.15 EU with the sense radio installer v6, restored my backup from before the update and all runs again as it should.
