I have a lenovo P780 which has been rooted etc etc and i'd like to revert back to the original OS
is there somewhere i can download the stock firmware
also some instructions? the boot loader seems to be in Chinese

Assuming you are on S110 ROW, download the pack here

Follow the guide here to install the driver, fast click the device, and then finally flash etc

Of course the scatter file u pick when flashing should be the one from your firmware pack above.
If I'm not mistaken the download pack above includes the flash tool, which seems to be common for all mediatek devices.
I've done this several times on different firmware on P780/P770 and the steps are identical. Just be careful don't flash firmware of different device thats all. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU TICK "DA DL All with Checksum" or the phone may not boot!
The hardest part is actually shutting down the device, and then plugging in, and the device appears in winblows device manager for a few seconds before disappearing again, and within that few seconds is all u have to click it and update its driver :laugh:
to all: i'm frustating to Repartition Chinese Base Rom.
use Meteos will be bootloop. because meteos.apk only work
for english/russian Base Rom.
Aroma Partition.zip it's also Only Work for Russian Base Rom.
how to Repartition Internal Memory China Base Rom???
what tools/apps i must use??

viberom 1405_2 and VRoot_1.7.4.4996 (http://links.mgyun.com/fw/296) – VROOT now only in chinese. Now I have rooted phone with this version viberom!!!!
vroot in chinese you need only few click and have root.
vroot in english is here: http://www.mgyun.com/en/getvroot but old version than chinese actual version. I dont know, if this english version is working with viberom.

I have this device which was bought from Etotalk and who installed a custom rooted rom.
The rom is well out date, and OTA update on the phone has two later versions. When I try to use LeUpgrade app the upgrade wont work.
So I found on needrom the latest official rom but it suggested that I use the flash_exe / scatter approach which I am familiar with, however I cant find the right USB driver for this phone- it is tegra 3
Could anyone offer advice on how to successfully install the latest official Lenovo rom?
UPDATE
So I installed snapee and installed the correct USB driver. Now the problem is that the file on needrom is a RAR and not zip file and doesn't contact any MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt in target_bin.7z - I don't understand how to install this rom ?

hello friends finally i have managed to flash my celkon a118 with stock rom. I am writing the procedure to some one who is needed. I am staring this post as assuming that you have minimum idea of how to flash your phone. if not please search about basics. please undesstand that i am not responsible for any damage to you phone.
1. downloaded many stock roms none of them are worked. finally i downloaded from the android xda site.

2. install drivers. i face bit difficult in this aspect. it is easy to install pdanet software in net and connect your working phone to pc.
3. In the firmware file there is a mtk flash tool. if you are comfortable do that or try sp flash tool.
4. while flashing you will get checksum error. the solution is delete checksum file and flash now.
5. the checksum file is in the downloaded file>flashtool>sp>checksum.ini(configuaration file)
6. flash now better to use firware upgrade. once i tried flash all and download then my imei is failed then i write my imei with mauiMETA software.

I from China,my English is not well.
Check any custom ROM installation method in ROM section. Follow same.you can refer CrDroid rom for example and change the data partition type as mentioned and try to boot.
Also please note that this and other custom ROM may not work on China model as i had trouble myself on AL10 and only way i could do was to debrand amd then i was able to install all the ROMs

When I'm in stock rom, auto rotation, auto brightness & sim card doesn't work. Maybe sensor problem.
But when I use custom rom , they works perfectly. I searched on internet and found that sensors are related to persist.img . So can I flash persist.img of custom rom on the stock one? Custom rom is android 10 & stock is 8.0.

This doesn't make sense. Have you tried flashing stock rom the official way? Perhaps you missed something.

Obviously! My device is moto e5. I used "Rescue & smart assistant tool" from official lenovo website(Motorola was owned by lenovo). That tool detected my device in fastboot & downloaded the official firmware automatically, also flashed it. Before using that tool , stock ROM was fine. Actually I used it to go back to stock condition. So I lost my first ROM(Sensor working one), and there is no way to get it back.
I also tried clean flash(By wiping the system, vendor,data etc. & trying again). That didn't help. Then I tried flashing the ROM with commands in platform tools. Still that issue.
This device is 2 GB ram. So lenovo people don't care. But It's my daily driver (As I'm 14)

If it works on this custom rom as intended, I would say it is a pretty good guess that this ROM persist image would be compatible with your original version of the stock rom.

That stock ROM will hard brick my device. Because that's for "play" variant. And my model number is XT1944-6 (Rare one). But yeah, I will download the stock ROM from outside the official tool. Thanks for the idea. But 1 question, can I flash rom of another build number? Because in internet, my device's stock ROM build number has 3 at last. But my build number's last digit is 6.
