Hey there guys. Recently, I grabbed an incorrectly ported CM9 ROM. It had a few issues, like wrong audio routing, which I have fixed already. Now there's, this problem I don't know what to do about. Basically, all all semi-transparent images/stuff is more transparent than it should be. And probably a bit darker When you enable touchscreen feedback in developer settings (that dot cursor), upon lifting your finger off the touchscreen, things return to normal for a split second. Also, screenshots look normal, so I can't send you a pic describing the problem. This might be caused by a wrong library, but I have no Idea which one. Maybe you could help?

why cm9?
cm10 is stable
With CM10, the speed is horrible until you install tons of scripts, zipalign everything and overclock to death. With this (or any CM9) ROM, you don't have to care about that... I also like the CM9 UI more etc. etc. This rom also has included taskbar transparency settings and some community-made tweaks.
It's discontinued though, so I have to fix some stuff myself
Sent from my GT-S5570 using xda app-developers app
Or can anyone tell me what libs could possibly have something to do with transparency/display?

Hey guys, ive been using adw launcher on my x10 for quite a while now and i remember a few versions ago the update adjusted the layout slightly meaming all themes needed an update to fix this. Its been a few months since now and i have all upto date versions... but the dock bar is still unaligned by several pixels :-( did i miss something or are all the theme devs slacking off?

Did u missread my last post? No it isnt fixed :-(

Contact developer on his mail ID(take it from from market) .... Or switch to some other launcher and check if same issue persists.
The dev of ADW already said in the release notes that themes need to be fixed... thus why months later im wondering if im the only one still awaiting a fix of most of my themes!

lol seems this issue is only for your phone it works perfectly on my phone ...
Just uninstall ADW then reinstall and clear cache after that .. If this doesn't work then SORRY ... !!
incidentally - you don't need to be rooted to take screen shots.. although the first time you do this it is a complete faff... but once you've installed the required s/w on your PC it's relatively easy...

I'll post a screen shot later because I can't upload it from my phone
Hi, I have observed lot of stutter while scrolling web pages in Opera Mobile. I am using ztock rom ZSLE6, stock kernel. Opera Mobile installed on my phone is the latest version available at Play Store.
Also, I have observed such stutters while scrolling in apps like facebook and even the xda app, and while scrolling through home screens. Note that I have no widgets on my home screens, just app shortcuts.
Has anyone else observed such behavior? Is this an OS limitation? Any solution?

i DONT believe this is a thread on ZSLE6. U mean to say this is a ROM issue? Proof? I have observed this across stock roms, on stock kernel. Can't comment on custom roms coz I haven't used them. Unecessary policing/trying to be oversmart on the forum is uncalled for.

I am using neo v2.1 based on zsle5.... i have noticed that on occasion (usually after the device has been on for a long time) scrolling through the home screen
and launcher is very slow.... clearing memory, closing all the apps down or using an external task manager has no effect on this problem.... however this isssue is usually resolved by a quick reboot (it takes <30 seconds).... But if its consistently slow for you I recommend you take it to the service center as when I was using the stock ROM I dont remember any noticeable lags.

Im not sure If I'm understanding what kind of stuttering you're talking about, but please check; applications=> Display, and on the bottom of the scroll list check "auto adjust screen power" and uncheck the setting, then check the stuttering again... If this can't solve your issue can't help you man.

I dont think changing the auto adjust screen power helps as the problem is not with the level of the brightness of the screen but in the animation effects... still i have always kept the auto adjust screen power unchecked so i dont think that could be the problem....

Haven't had time to revert to ZSLE5. Will report once done. But magically stutter seems to be much less (though still present) on ZSLE6 now. Don't know what's happening!
Flashed ZSLE5, everything seemed smooth. Decided to again try ZSLE6. Things smooth on this as well, don't know what hit me earlier... Some lag was observed in both roms, but then that's android's problem. :banghead:
Looking forward to ICS from Samsung or JB from CM, whichever comes first. Though I wish CM nails it to make our device all butter-y!
Same here...flashed zsle5 n den zsle6...the lag has been reduced further..touch is far more accurate on zsle6
Its funny isint it ??

I want CRT screen off on CM10
I have tried changing the framework-res.apk /res/values/bools.xml "config_animateScreenLights" & "config_screenOffAnimation" with true/false in every combination with no visual changes.
I haven't really played with CRT settings in framework much before but I was under the impression that those settings controlled it.
Maybe I missed it, maybe its right in front of my face.
Can we get this fixed? I know I miss it.
Up!

Good find but I decompiled CM10 services.jar and "\com\android\server\PowerManagerService$Brightness State.smali" does not exist.
This is close probably but needs to be modified. Although, we do have "PowerManagerService$ScreenBrightnessAnimator.smali"
Ill try myself later but you guys feel free to try yourselves too.
did it work
did it work?
Beans build 10 has CRT off, though it some times flickers at the end of the animation. Not a deal breaker to me. This is the only ROM I've seen with it yet too.

Yup guys you can change your system animations:thumbup: via this app u am not the developer I just support this app and would like to share this one with you guys
Description:
This app will make Theming your phone as easy as tapping on a button. The concept is easy:
You tap the MOD you want, and Framework Tool will apply it for you. Currently there are about 40 functions, such as animations, dialogs, backgrounds and other aspects of your phones or tablets system, but it is in beta state, and more will be added in the next hours, days, weeks, months. Now it is your turn! Take control of your phone and make it fit to your mood and style, use hot features as the possibility to use your own backgrounds (in the Settings application as an example) for the system (3.0+), with just a few taps, and no computer required! This application needs ROOT ACCESS and R/W on /system ! This App can now run on versions below 4.0, BUT all modifications are designed for Android 4.0, so they may not work as intended on versions below that!
Warning: Framework Tool does change framework files which may not be compatible on some ROMs or devices. Always make a backup before installing and use at your own risk.
Here's the Link

No it just changes system animations it must have happened if you have chosen a heavy animation on a mid end device
Well I don't think the Gnex is a mid end device... And the only change I made is activity switching to ios sliding.

Bad luck then try applying animations again or instead try a reboot I have always used it on a fresh flash so it was never the case for me
I advice you to use it on a new flash...
You can also set the speed for animations using Framework Tool, in case you they are to slow for you. On start screen open menu and then you will see.
Thanks for yor responses guys.
I don't mean the animation is slow, I mean it takes a lot of time (3 or 4 seconds) to start the animation. Once started, it goes smooth.
This happens only sometimes. I'm trying to figure if this issue is ROM related (pa 3.1). I'm going back to aokp and try again.
Thanks!!

Technically, android waits for the app you touched to draw the first image, then animates to it.
Another thing: You are on Android 4.2 right? Then the changes Framework Tool applies to the framework (in the aspect of app start animation) are "ignored".
The only impact on performance is if you change the "standard background", if it is very high-res, if will definatly have an impact on performance.
Sincerely,
Janis Elfert (dev of Framework Tool)

If you haven't already, leave a nice rating at the Play Store. It would be very nice, cause it's rating will jump to 4.00 then !

Ok so... I would dl this apk, install it; if I get a constant fc, reboot or pull battery... so after reboot with no status bar, am I to go into clockwork mod and "fix permissions" then reboot again? Just want to be certain before I do it. Again thanks, rom is great with all the nuances of ics/jb... just kinda seems also like battery life has slipped a little too... I was running vanilla cm7 with mazout's kernel before skyrom.
