You can developer unlock your device which allows you to sideload apps. Either register as a developer or use the Chevron unlocker.
Custom roms are not possible at the moment (though WP7 isn't like Android) but it's on the horizon.

Mango is the name for the next major update to Windows Phone (OS ver 7.1). It is a huge update and is adding a lot of functionality to the platform.
Casey
so do i check on the htc arrive or is it the same for all phones
It's the same. They all run the same OS.
The only thing is the custom ROM thing is not going to be possible (at the moment) on the Arrive.
ok i might to put mango on or i might wait which one do you think i should do is mango easy

Mango has RTMed and is currently in carriers/OEMs testing and will be officially available via an update using Zune Software.
Hi guys!
Great forum. Goot my first Android device ever yesterday: Huawei G700-U20. I would like to root it and add a Custom rom (KitKat 4.4).
Got some problems in the first stage tough: installed Framaroot (and my phone is supposed to be supported according to the list), but when opening the app it says: "Your device seems not vulnerable to exploit included in Framaroot"
What am I doing wrong?
It this the only opportunity to root the phone? As you can see - I'm very unexperienced, so please bear with me
we need to wait too much for 4.4.2

Rooting Huawei is not the problem, you can do it very easily with the help of farmaroot app with out any PC.
But the real question is whether we have any good advantage of rooting this mobile if there is no custom ROM or any other type of update available in the market, than what is the best use of rooting and cracking your warranty.

He was asking if there was other options to root the phone other than framaroot, so I just told him one other option
On the other side, yes its true that there are no custom roms for the U20. But that is not the only reason for rooting a phone since there are several apps that do require a rooted device.
Anyone knows Why Nokia 3 can't be rooted as easy as other phone by using Kingroot?

I think it's because Nokia 3 is regularly updated and there are not many people who have a Nokia 3 AND want to root it.
So Nokia 3 is not priority for kingRoot

It's so sad that Nokia 3 doesn't have many users. I still haven't seen any problems while using it.

If it was popular then there would be threads and TWRP and ROMs but the fact that there's not tells you, it's not....
I think you are righ
I bought s10+ over it
I gave up on it. And the developer that did a Magisk flashable mod I think has also moved on. I tested for him but the device was not very popular. Thinking about trying to sell it or just gifting it to someone. Haven't even turned it on for weeks.
My SM-N935F NoteFE Floyd V5
DEX or HDMI support, is the most important feature for a DEVELOPER TO CREATE FOR NOTE 10LITE!Hardware wise is capable, but SOFTWARE is not permitting this feature. I hope that a DEVELOPER will be so kind to HELP on that!!!
And propably a valid twrp version to flash it!
maybe someone, i.e. @butchieboy ?, smart is capable of porting twrp to the Note 10 lite with this instruction which seems to be easy for linux users or with those skills. See here: https://appuals.com/how-to-port-twrp-for-android-without-source/
On my side I am a bit familiar with Android Image Kitchen for windows (so far only used for themeing twrp for other devices to my needs, which worked excellent) but the above guide says it should be done with AIK for Linux, so I am afraid to mix (brick) things up....

If it was as simple as stated in those instructions I would have had this fixed ages ago, but it is not. It relies on signatures that need to be generated to match the devices vbmeta.img file otherwise it will not boot. I tried this, but got nowhere with the signatures and little support from other devs to help me with creating the signatures. @butchieboy has a Magisk flashable I created to get some mods in the device but other things like screen mirroring or HDMI being fixed need to be done directly on the image of the device. I will release an R version of the latest firmware N770FXXS7DUB1_N770FOJM7DUB1_XSG, which is the one I have and release it soon.
Whats up Javix. I was testing Twrp for another developer a week ago. We got knowhere. I give up on the 10 lite as At&t has blocked it and i can no longer use it on my Network. So I basically have a Mint condition phone that is useless to me. Damn At&t are starting to do this with any F version device when you try to use it on their network it automatically suspends your number as an unauthorized device. I bought a S20FE unlocked bootloader Twrp and rooted. Good luck with 10 lite, mine is back in the box..lol

Hi there butchieboy!
If your N10Lite is of no use to you, is there a chance I can help with TWRP and ROMs?
I can help with TWRP (maybe official too) and porting ROMs. You can check my credentials as I have ported many roms to the Galaxy M30.
Let me know if you are interested. Message me on telegram @cha0scl0wn.
Regards,
cha0scl0wn.

S20FE is about $100-150 more expensive than note 10 lite in my place ($450)
With trade I only paid $230
I just like the old simple style of older android verisons. I only text, call and browse via mobile web browser on my phone so I don't need much in terms of apps. Is it even possible to run such old android version anymore? Is there a rom of an older version that is still maintained?
With regards to non-Google devices updates get provided by OEM/carrier, if ever. Hence ask OEM/carrier this question.
IMHO there is no need to upgrade your mobile if the apps you run don't require a higher Android version.

I still have a S4+ on Kitkat, don't use it but the OS operates fine except for gmaps which probably more a needed OS reload issue.
Lol, gmaps never runs "fine".
