Simpsons on a TF700 - Asus Transformer TF700

I'm a kindle fire user so I'm mildy familiar with flashing things via twrp. I was wondering if anyone had created a flashable zip that might disquise the Transformer as maybe a Nexus 10 or some similar tablet that is able to run The Simpsons Tapped Out on this tablet? I haven't rooted yet as it's my fiance's tablet but if I could find a way to get Tapped out on it she'll have me rooting it within 20 minutes of me telling her it could be done.

Works fine with CM10.2 - what's the problem?

That game (and most games from EA) are not working on the TF700. Even The Sims is different on the TF700 than the TF300. I am not sure if it is because of the type of screen that Asus used on this tablet. But I do run into apps that are not supported on the TF700. I have not put a custom rom on yet, but it is comming real soon. Warranty finally ran out last week.
(Never thought I would be so happy that a warranty expired.) :good::good:

I applaud your unbridled optimism Sir.
ASUS hinted at this yesterday on FB. Their post "When Mr. Jellybean is in the office, it means something good is coming."

I've learned from the TF101 ICS update - be careful what you wish for!!! For those that don't know, my (and others) TF101 has basically become very un-reliable since they introduced ICS.
While I truly *hope* we don't have such issues with the Jelly Bean upgrade, I certainly don't have a lot of confidence in Asus at this point.
I just hope that they don't rush it and test it properly before releasing it and forcing the upgrade on us (which is exactly what they did with the ICS update on the TF101).
I do know that my TF700 has some of the same ICS issues that the TF101 had (OpenGL out of memory errors, for example, which causes your launcher to go "blank")....

Great! Very exciting news to wake up to!
When Firmware actually starts dropping DON'T FORGET TO!!
*Side load your FLASH PLAYER. If you want flash. It will no longer show up in the Playstore any longer
*Revert back whatever modding/altering to system files just in case Rooters. Only if you want your OTAS to actually complete. Or if running a custom rom it wouldn't work anyways as you already know.
*Don't forget to backup your Root with Voodoo Ota Rootkeeper! You will definitely lose root if you don't
Time to obsessively check every 5 minutes for the update!!!

*sighs* I want all my devices to run Jellybean today, here is to hoping it will happen.
As I'd normally recommend rooting myself, I don't think it's necessary in this case. Why not just install .apk with Flash after allowing unknown sources? I believe it should suffice, although I don't know if it's any different with the JB system of permissions.
No need to root to install Flash on Jelly Bean. At least not on the Nexus 7.

I can confirm - my father just bought a Nexus 7 - I emailed the Flash app to him and he was able to install it and it worked without any rooting or anything.
He used Boat Browser (per my recommendation) - not sure about other browsers, but I assume it work with all expect for Chrome, of course...

To everyone who wants flash, the easy way is to place the apk somewhere on Dropbox/Google Drive/Physical medium and install it from there, also since this week Adobe Flash Player is not available in the Play Store. http://www.pcworld.com/article/260901/android_flash_player_rip_how_to_get_it_now_that_its_gone.html

Everyone remember to backup the files created by titanium backup themselves to a removable SD card or your PC.
As for JB, I am not sure we can expect it for the TF700 right away ... the TF300 is so similar to the nexus 7, I'm sure they only slightly modified their nexus 7 kernel.

THelook and feel of JB is for the most part similiar to ICS.
Their are some differences you will notice:
Animations: Some new and smooth animations that are nice. Animationa arre a minor thing but add a nice touch.
Project butter: My tablet does seem to run smoother and I have yet to have a wait/close prompt pop up. Of course I may get some, but so far it seem to have improved in that dept.
Google Now & search: This is what I wanted most. I really like the voice search, it really fast with returning answers. I wish I did a few more thens like open apps and tell me my next apointment when asked, bt I'm sure that will come with future updates. Google Now is prety neat and I'm interesting in seeing how it starts to work once I have had it a while and it can develop some patterns and give me info based off what it believes is relavent for me.
This is just an initial impression is I just updated last night and haven't really got much day to day expierance with JB, but so far so good. So far I don't really see the down side. You gain a few things and don't really lose much. Unless you have a particular app that dosen't play well wih JB yet.
Can't wait to get jellybean but I'll wait patiently for it

You can flash anything, doesn't mean you'll be successful. The current recoveries can't support this due to different boot and kernel mods. The guys are currently trying get a fix for those on OTA JB and all. I would say sit tight and wait for conformation that Twrp or cmw can backup and restore boot from diff firmwares. I tried this and got stuck at Asus logo and couldn't boot into os. But was able to get official JB back up. So now I'm stuck on JB for now.

I don't umderstand your commit? I installed and it worked.
Make sure you try the landscape mod. There are two versions of mod.
I just realized oringinal poster is rooted. I'm on stock and don't have a problem on tf. I would note that my two tablets that are rooted with custom roms do not work with current hulu app. Don't know why. Also i used the landscape mod for my large tablets including tf but i needed the other app for nook tablet. Another nice thing with this mod is no nag to update. On my nook tablet i used an older version of hulu app and i always had update nag.

I have done research and I think it is due to either Ad block, or hulu detects that your phone is bootloader unlocked or rooted and doesn't work.
I am trying to figure out a fix or workaround at the moment and if it's relevant I am using ViperXL ROM 1.2.4 (Latest)
If it's a question/help related thread, it belongs in Q&A. Thank you.

im guessing that it is a system app so heres what i did.
1. In root explorer go to system/app and find gmail.apk
2. then press and hold it and then press move.
3 then move it to data app.
4. reboot your kindle
5. go to setting/apps/ find gmail then uninstall
6. after the uninstall download the new gmail
7 then try installing. that should work.

Hp Slate 7

What i know so far
Bootloader can be accessed with Rkflashkit by unplugging and powering off the device, holding volume-up and plugging it back in. Screen will remain black but you should see the device address appear in Rktool telling you it has powered up.
This method will work with Linux, idk if the tool is available for windows
I also found an alternative to the asian rooting method by using Rkflash to flash a rooted system.img(adb remains not fully rooted)
Every attemps i made at modifying the stock boot.img got me stuck in a bootloop.
We can also use Rkflash to flash recoveries but will need to disable the install-recovery.sh script first, otherwise stock recovery just gets flashed back on reboot.
My Cwm build did not work. Device did not seem to boot
I have not tried flashing kernel yet.
Python sent me a PM with a link to cwm builds for devices similar to ours and i tested some. Some of them does not seem to boot, some others get the screen to light up with no graphics. I did not make it halfway through the list yet, i will continue testing hoping to find one that works when i have more free time
He also pointed out we can use FlashGordon to flash recoveries from our device however they need to be in .zip format. I have tried and can confirm this works.
I will also try to upload my rooted system.img file somewhere later this week for those who seeks an alternative to the asian method
Rkflashkit can be found here https://github.com/linuxerwang/rkflashkit
FlashGordon clan be found on playstore

This if for a Hp Slate 7 2800 by the way
any news ???? i have asked on hp forums for the kernel source but no answer :/
well, not on my side i guess. i've been able to flash recoveries using rkflashtool, but i have not found one that works with the slate yet, i found some that boots without powering the screen, some that boots and lights a black screen, some others with a flickering white screen, some just doesn't boot at all. so far im trying to organize them and see what the booting builds have in common, maybe we could use them as a base or something.
Yesterday I realized I can't send or receive files by bluetooth, am I the only one with this problem?

I don't think Hp will release their sources to be honest, I already sent them an email about something similar and the only thing I got after a 3 months wait was a lot of spam from them in the junkbox asking me to buy a laptop, ink cartridges and stuff like that, so i guess we're on our own and should not expect any support from hp.

but supposedly they have to because of GPL ... i think i will make a new thread on hp forums every day until they anwser lol
I think Gpl only applies to stock linux kernel, and since Hp modified it a bit they're not forced to publish it. It would speed up aftermarket development so much if they did though.
