Which type of screen guard do you use? - Samsung Galaxy S II Plus

Guys I am now using glossy screenguard ( I don't know which company) but it is sticky and fingerprint catcher thus the color reproduction is good...I have tried matte screenguard in past it was good in touch no FPs no sticks but the color specially white colour looked annoying) which type of screenguard do you suggest or use?

same here, matte doesnt look good on amoled,it makes it blur...i dont mind the finger print,so like u,i opt for clear type screen protector. i heard of diamond type, but i never try it,anyone did?

I just got the cheapest glossy one from eBay. I've tried mirror-like screen guards before, but I found that they interfere with the colours and luminosity on the screen.
Fingerprints are unavoidable on a touch-phone it seems :/

no screen guard here
i'm using my phone without screen guard more than a week and fortunately still no scratches
first i tried scratch above amoled area (around secondary camera) with sharp metal objects like needle or key or Stainless Steel ruler but no scratches at all.
please, if anyone used his/her phone without guard so it's screen had scratches tell me, because i can't stand smallest scratch on amoled screen area.

You should use a screen guard.you'll eventually end up with a scratch.i prefer matte screen guards, but that's just me.

I'm using a tempered glass screen protector. Thin despite being made of glass and no bubbles unlike plastic film protectors.

I've used my phone always without screen protector for about half year and I've not got any scratches on it yet so I think screen guards aren't worth buying

So I tried a matte screen guard - not recommended. It feels nice and fingerprints doesn't show as easily as on a glossy, but it adds a sort of colour-shimmer to the screen. Especially on white screens it is very noticable. I don't know if there are different kinds (different materials) of matte screen guards, but at least the one I have is not recommended.

Matte
My Vote for Matte Screen Guard Its scratch-less and very useful too

Mmm, that attracts me. What kind of review can you give about it other than bubble-less? Will the glass shatter if drop? Is it weighy?

I'm using matte belkin screen guard, seems like ok

A smooth anti-grease, anti-fingerprint slippery screen protector?

i don't if I made myself clear in the topic, but the screen protector i'm talking about is really awesome
It had a rough feeling, it feels kinda like touching sandpaper, but without the sand :-l , as to where most screen protector offers a smooth surface (glass or film like).
thing is, I like it cuz it's not glossy, so it's no reflection against sunlight or brightlight. Plus when I slide across my fingers on the screen it slips across, as to where those glossy screen protector, it stick your fingers to the screen, especially when your finger is fat.
I saw this on an iphone 5 luxury case, the one that it covers the entire phone with screen protection
I don't know if they have this screen protector BY ITSELF? without the case?

Scratches on screen?

Is there any way to remove a small scratch on my phone screen//
The screen is scratch-resistant though

I am sure you can take it to the local computer shop and pay them $30 to remove them if you are being annoyed by it. If you prefer not to, you can put a screen protector on to cover the scratch.
Iver hear using toothpaste (one with no "grains" can be used as well as car wax. I've use both for light scratches and some medium scratches on my phone and glasses... I dont know what else to use that works as advertised
I think toothpaste is not good idea.

Just use the toothpaste to brush your teeth n go to store to buy some anti scratch layer.

Whitening toothpaste works great on glass. I would not use it on plastic though.
I had a scratch on a remote control screen - not touch screen just a LCD screen. The glass face had a small scratch, used whitening toothpaste, a damp kitchen cloth and rubbed it in for about 30 minutes. It got rid of the scratch, and it didn't effect the glass translucently around the scratch. If you tried that on plastic it'll make the scratch disappear but it'll blur the plastic around it. And for a LCD it'll effect how the pixel light through it.
So don't do it. Either replace the screen, or live with it. Always use a screen protector. Even glass can be scratched, if you have keys in your pocket metal is harder than glass, so it'll scratch.
correction screen was like old type "casio" type LCD monochome screen, not RGB pixels.

It's the other way round, even a knife (just a simple metal knife not some diamond edged sword ) won't scratch glass. Try it if you don't believe me then try it on a mirror or window or something instead of the phone (because actually the oleophobic layer could be scratched by the metal)
Grit is the worst thing, if grit/dirt/small stone particles whatever you wanna call them gets in between the metal and your glass, or just grit by itself, then it will scratch the hell out of it.

Maybe one of the products that repair scratches in eyeglasses or DVD's?
There was a discussion about this a couple of years ago.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185606
I remember it because I had a post in it.
I have had good experience using Brasso to reduce scratches on CD and DVD discs and have read about it being used to help eliminate scratches on smartphone and ipod screens as well.
I made the mistake of not buying/applying a screen protector to my phone... ONCE. Screen protectors, and at the very least a silicon protector to go around the body are the best money spent on your phone.
Toothpaste removes scratches.
You should always use those protections for the screen You dont loose sensivity, are not figerprint prone, and protect from scratches.

Gorilla Glass being scratch proof is about as real as the Jaguars winning the Superbowl this year (rimshot).
I don't know why anyone makes that claim, every person who thinks that whom I've ever met has scratches on their screen.
I've always wondered if those products that remove scratches from cars and such could be used on a cell phone screen. My thought it that it probably wouldn't work, but it might be worth a test on a Gorilla Glass device which is outdated or the like. Someone could make a lot of money on such a product though I'd imagine.
I'd never heard of toothpaste before, that's a new one.
My advice is to get a matte screen protector the day you order a device. You can get them on eBay and Amazon for like $2 or $3 for a set of 3 and they go on very nicely with no bubbles and feel really nice. And they never hamper my view of the screen. I've got one on my 720P LCD Nexus 4 screen and I really like it.

Just remember Corning Gorilla Glass is different from Scratch resistant glass. My Sony has scratch resistant glass and it does not scratch very easy. Samsung galaxy for example has gorilla glass which does scratch but is tougher to break.
Old thread but I came across it and wanted to correct some horrible information.
DO NOT USE TOOTHPASTE on your screen. Most screens now have an oleophobic layer that the toothpaste will completely decimate creating more scratches to go with whatever you have.
Want to protect your screen? Use a screen protector.
Once it's scratched it's just scratched.
so is there really a way to remove scratches on a screen?

[POLL] Do you guys use screen protectors - and have you got scratches?

Just wanred to know please vote

I personally use a screen protector because it´s easier to switch a $2 screen protector than the complete screen. Also i keep my phone in my pocket with an additional tpu case

Im using a very thin and crystal clear SP that you almost can not notice that there is SP installed.
I forgot the brand but it cost me less than $15
My beloved galaxy SL i9003 still scratchless and I never use SP on it.
i don't use any screen protectors for any phone. I just love the feeling that my finger direct touch the screen without any protector My phone have no scratches so far, but I can't guarantee that in the future.
The glass screen is very hard and our finger/nagel/keys cannot hurt it at all, don't worry about it.
Only one thing in our all day life which harder than the glass is the sand, we can't protect our phone from sand completly, it exist on the ground everywhere, but if you don't fall your phone to the ground (and very unlucky with the screen down), the screen has very few chance to be scratched with the sand.
No screen protector, no scratches. Just exercise some caution and your screen will remain perfect
I have a couple of tiny spots and really thin scratches that can be seen when viewing at a specific angle. No screen protector, ever.
Use a glass screen protector. Dropped my phone and the glass took the scratch rather than the screen so worth it for the sake of keeping screen in tact.
im using a cheap plastic from nowheres-ville and its not scratched not even thw plastic itself

Got me a gold tempered glass screen protector. It cost around $20Aud and was easy to apply. Fits well, is glass so noplasticy feel to the screen and everything registers well with screen touches.
If the sand scratches the screen, no biggie as it can be removed pretty easily.
Also came with a 2 home button extender sticker so that was no problem either...
Spigen GlasT.r here, $40 locally.
Best investment for my S4. Together with the neo hybrid it just looks awesome.
The glast.r is smoother and better than the original gorilla glass 3.

Tempered Glass w/Bumper?

Has anyone been able to apply a tempered glass screen protector and use the included bumper? Tried with mine but the bumper seems to push up on the screen protector from the edges..
I have a tempered glass protector on mine with the bumper without any issues, but the glass protector had terrible halo effect. Almost all do because this has a slightly curved screen like the Nexus 6 and manufacturers didn't account for it. Probably going to be a couple weeks before they start to release ones that don't lift up in the corners..
Same with me, terrible halo effect on left and right edges. (For those who don't know what this mean, it just means that the screen doesn't fit flush to the screen due to the curvature of the phone, and appears as if a giant bubble stretches around the whole screen protector's edges as if it looks like the screen protector is surrounded by a halo)

thats exactly what i was getting, but when i removed the bumper, the screen protector was good. Now im just worried about walking around with absolutely no protection from drops. first tempered glass screen protector and im loving it, but i think the only other alternative is a regular oleophobic protector
The skinomi glass protector actually fits very well with the bumper. I was initially annoyed about it being too small (width is just the size of the actual display, so it requires some precision/multiple attempts to align it right, best done with the bumper on). However there is no haloing on the sides, just some on the ears around the speakers, mostly the bottom, and the bumper doesn't interfere with it.

Looking for a glass screen protector

I've been using this case: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/SEA...er-Hard-Cover-Case-For-LeEco/32856125151.html
And unfortunately all of the very-good-fit screen protectors which stretch to the edge are interfering with it. They both try to cling to the edges of the screen, which causes the screen protector to be pushed upwards and get dislodged.
Can anybody recommend something that is a better fit to this case?

I have two x727s and use the exact same case on my primary daily phone, and I have a really thin one on the other phone.
For me this is absolutely the best case, plus it actually does a great job protecting the screen, with its lip.
I also tried a screen protector. But eventually grew tired of messing with it and took it off.
At this point, I haven't had a screen protector for about a year, and believe or not, my screen still looks like new, with no scratches at all, none!
Unless, there is too much risk with your daily usage, maybe consider not using one. With that case, you probably don't need a screen protector?

I've replaced the screen with a cheap one I found on AliExpress (suspected to be from a Cool S1) and I'm not sure if the replacement one has any sort of reinforced glass (like the Gorilla Glass 4 the LePro3 originally had) to protect it from scratches and shatters. That's why I need the screen protector.

Yep. During cooking some oil got between the glass and the LCD, and it stained it. I had to replace the entire assembly.
Thanks for looking out for glass screen protectors - I've tried a few but they all weren't a good fit with a case.
Hi,
I just replaced the display and the battery. it came with a sreen protector but unfortunatly it doesn't stick on the borders.
I'm looking for a better quality one.
