WhatsApp on multiple devices - General Questions and Answers

I have a GT-I9300, a GT-B5330 and a TF201 tablet. All 3 rooted. Do you know any method to use same WhatsApp account on all 3? Or at least two. Thanks.

I created my whatsapp account with the SIM I was using before. I didn't change my mobile,
But I changed SIM(number). Still I am using the same whatsapp account. So changing sim doesn't
change account.
So here is my Theory. Create an account with one sim card in one device.
And take out the sim and put in other device and login to the same account.
So later you can change sim, still you will be using the old account.
I have only one Xperia Miro. So this is not tested !!! Please post the result if you are trying this...

Thank you. I'll try!

I installed whatsapp with a different number witch is great, but when I open whatapp in the second device it says that whatapp can be installed on only one device and that I must reverify the phone number. Anyways, thanks!

Make a backup of WhatsApp (data + app) on the device with the account on with Titanium Backup & send the backup to any other rooted device that you wish to install it on by importing the app & data & also make a back up of the WhatsApp folder from the phone that you have setup with the acct on & install that folder on all the devices that you plan to use WhatsApp on.
This works 100% & I've got it installed on my GT-i9100 (acct phone), HUAWEI Ascend Y600-U151 (slave), & a el-cheapo tablet. XD

Thanks for your suggestion. It will really helpful for me if you had implemented this successfully on your devices. But I have here some confusion, it didn't ask you for the account verification ? And here you say 'importing the app & data & also make a back up of the WhatsApp folder from the phone that you have setup with the acct'. I am not getting what you want to say. Please help me, its really needed to me.
I try below steps. Please let me know if any thing is wrong.
1 - Taken backup of whatsapp (app + data) on source (rooted) device.
2 - Send backup folder to destination (rooted) device via blue-tooth .
3 - Uninstall whatsapp on destination device if already exists.
4 - Restored whatsapp on destination device using Titanium backup.
Please know me if something wrong.
Thank you very much,
Regards,
Urvil B

Rom Manager paid with Pay Pal

I bought Rom Manager try Pay Pal and now on app market says that I don't have Rom Manager premium installed. So I wanted to know in the future if I reinstall Rom Manager how it will know that I did made payment? Is there license key so I can copy to my PC? If there is where I can find it on my nexus s? I did same payment (from pay pal) for Titanium Backup and I got license key (file) that I backed up on my PC, so when I was doing reinstall I copied the file (license key) to my phone and titanium backup was premium. So please tell me what to do in the future with reinstalling the Rom Manager, how to make it premium.
Thank you.
Someone?

Did you link it to your Google account when you made the payment?
In that case, installing the 'normal' ROM Manager on any phone with your account will automatically turn it into Premium.
I guess you can contact Koushik Dutta if you change your e-mail address for some reason.

My pay pal mail is the same mail that I use on my phone, so apparently it's linked. I will try next time I change the rom.
Thanks
..
I did what you sugest. I uninstaled the update of the rom manager ( I can't uninstall the app because its system app, comes with cm9 ) and for now it works, it says it's premium. I did the update again from the market and again it's premium. Thanks

[Q] how do i backup apps as .apk files?

i would like to backup apps to a .APK file so i can put them on the computer .....TB (titanium backup) doesn't seem to put them in just a .apk so how can i do this?
id like to be able to use "adb install _______.apk" to put apps on a phone all at once without needing to buy TB as i don't have the money....
I just found an app that does that this morning. It's called apkExtractor by Kim Heeseok. I'd post a link, but you need 8 total posts before you can do that.

*sigh* can you put the link in a PM? or just put spaces between the parts so it doesn't register as a link, i can put it back together when i get it.
Here (delete brackets around https and .com):
[h][t][t][p]://play.google[.com]/store/apps/details?id=net.sylark.apkextractor
Edit: Just as a note, inside of the app, a long press of the app you want to export will give you the option to export it as an apk. It will be exported to "/sdcard/AppManager/yourappname.apk".

Titanium Backup
you can download it
Titanium Backup DOES back up apks, they just have them compressed...IIRC, you'll see the appname.apk.gz
You could also use something like ES File Explorer, which has a backup function. Other apps have similar capabilities.

I use the computer side of the 'wan dou jia' export! It is one of China's software.
i was also looking for the same.So i won't need to download the apps everytime after flashing or any other reason.
thanks mate
I gave up and use titanium backup pro

Transfer contacts, calender & SMS apk

My old phone was Nokia N73 & Nokia C2. I wanted to transfer all the contacts from Nokia N73, C2 to Galaxy Note.
I searched market but did not find any app that transfer contacts over bluetooth.
than i searched google & found that only HTC developers made an app to transfer contacts via bluetooth.
Than i download one stock ROM of HTC desire & extract this apk. But this app was not installing on Galaxy note. Every time i was receiving error - "Application not Installed". Maybe installation is failed because this app is from htc.
So with many hit & trail method I made it working with any android phone.
i thought its a great app so i want to share with you guys.
with this app you can transfer contacts, calender & SMS
Download & Enjoy

[Q] One Whatsapp, two ROMs, one phone

Hey there. I have two ROMs to boot in my Nexus 4: one is stock KitKat, my daily driver, the other is the MIUI v5 port for Nexus 4 (4.8.10)
The problem is that I have Whatsapp installed and activated in my KitKat, and activating it in MIUI would disable the app in KK. Is there a way to keep both activated, since both will live in the same phone under the same number? I search the forum and Google and found nothing about this, just how to activate two WA accounts in the same ROM.

I'm glad to hear that my friend, just reply if you need any other help
Short question: Does this also work for subsequent communications? Will they also alwas appear within both ROMs then?
And would Titanium Backup provide the same for SMS, dialer etc.?
My last question just got active again since I installed a 2nd ROM - anyone some idea?
