I would like to know if there's a rooting process that can be tested on no name/brand phone running stock ics 4.0.4.
Most of the rooting i see are for major or well known brand.
Example 5.7 quadcore chinese phone. I have BLU and I want to add additional font but need root first.

Well... your Xoom is a bit different than mine, I doubt the same kernel would work, who knows? Still, anyone on this, really want to be ready for 3.1
Try searching for "RootMyXoom". Looks like your kernel is bigrushdog and I've been able to use the utility RootMyXoom.03.exe to go back and forth between locked (unrooted) and unlocked (rooted).
I bought this 7" chinese Tablet from mcbub.com. It came with ICS 4.0.3.Baseband 4.0.11.
Is there a way I can downgrade this to 2.3 firmware? ICS feels sliggish and buggy and apps crash a lot.
The model no. listed in the Settings section is A10-MID. Is there a 2.3 firmware avail. for this model?

A friend of mine ordered from Pandawill this chinese Android phone called "G21":

And we are wondering how he can root it so that he can get the most of it. We don't even have any idea if this one has Recovery mode or anything of the sort.
He also seems to have this "invalid IMEI" error and his SIM card doesn't work (can't make calls, texts, etc).
Can someone tell me what he needs to do to solve all these problems? Will SuperOneClick by any chance be able to root this phone?

My new Nexus 5 has been ordered and should be delivered tomorrow. My only real wish is to be able to easily Wifi Tether with it, without Sprint knowing and charging me. Just wondering what the easiest method to achieve this is. I would prefer to run Lollipop on my device. Is it possible to just root the device, run stock 5.0 and be able to tether? Or do I need to flash a custom rom? If so, any recommendations for a clean and stable 5.0 rom? Thanks!

I have a Tesla 6.3, it's budget phone that is not really popular. I've been trying to install a custom ROM and I'm constantly running into problems. First of all I want to get TWRP custom recovery but my phone isn't on their website. I just find it a little hard to believe that out of all those phones mine is not supported. Is there any way around this?
