Comparing only antutu, I'm running the latest 19/09 CM10.1 nightly, GPU rendering forced at developer settings, no other tweaks:
494 on 2D graphics and 3215 on 3D graphics...
What is the use of this, smoother 3D gaming?
This is the stock of LPB Brazil, full of useless things from a carrier called "Tim" factory she does around 2100 points, with 2500 mod passes 3D points and I'm with stock kernel
Sent from my GT-I9070 using xda app-developers app
Oh, on stock that's quite the difference!!
I'll keep this in mind if I come back to touchwiz, thank you very much!
In CM you don't need this.EGL driver is already 0-1
That helped me on psp games!
So, this really works? Any adverse effect?
Obviously it works, does not give a big difference, but it helps a bit ..

So I manage to implement a very ingenious O/C system, similar to Virtuous but better in my opinion. It is called andrev_oc and you can find it here on xda. (thanks Sybregunne for creating this wonderful script)
This pack contains this O/C system and Loopy Smoothness tweaks (thanks to lpy) adapted for our device.
So here are the specs:
The O/C app is configured by default to:
245 min - 768 max - Conservative - Sleep State Setting
245 min - 1209 max - Ondemand - Wake State Setting
You can always revert to 1024 mhz, but I recommend you using this one for performance.
Loopy Smoothness tweaks:
What this script hopes to achieve:
- Entering your PIN with minimal/no delay/lag
- Minimising delay with lock screen pattern/unlock (not the time it takes to wakeup, but the touchscreen response lag)
- Having smoother notifications on the status bar, and smoother pulldown menu response
- Minimising Launcher lag while Media Scanner is running (can scroll through screens without heavy pauses)
- Minimising lag when scrolling through the market while icons are still loading
- Installing/Uninstalling apps while continuing other tasks
- Minimising/eliminating intermittent lag spikes in gaming
- No delay in being able to answer phone calls
... you get the idea
Remember:
1. Do a nandbackup before flashing the tweak !
2. Open apps, navigate through menus, so it caches everything, you will see later what I am talking about.
3. Flash this only if you are on Stock Kernel, I will try to provide one for Tiamat in the next few days.
4. This does not affect benchmarks, it only affects user experience.
5. The script is configured to automatically restart after flashing so don't panic.
6. Enjoy and post results !

Thanks bioan!
Also don't forget to credit Superkid for helping me out and for giving us MIUI !
If I flashed the sound fix what kernel am I on? The zip was just called SoundFix
Sent from my HTC Desire S using XDA App
That's stock.
L.E: It's not a problem if you are on Tiamat kernel. It's just that it won't work like it should. You will have to open the Daemon Controller and adjust frequencies because they are not the same as stock. That's why I will create a zip special for Tiamat so you don't have to do this.
Tiamat also has some extra governors.
Well it's flashed... I'll see how I get in tomorrow.

Hey, this has an overclock controller app right?
Yep, it have
Can these two things be used with a Sense ROM ?
I could create one for sense ROM's, but the O/C should work without any problems.
thanks for the tweak!
do i have to flash this after every miui update or just once?
/edit:
seems like this isn't what i was hoping for. i thought this tweak would 'cache everything', but for example in the music app the album art is still loaded new every time i open the album folder
same for the contact pictures. they are loaded new everytime i'm scrolling through contacts or open messaging app...
Link is broken, can u upload it again? Please!
Can anyone make a new link please? This one is broken

I'm looking to find out how I can find/copy/replicate from revolution hd rom 6x to do the following in my custom rom
Remove software (CPU) rendering - full Adreno220 (GPU) rendering
Improved Adreno220 configuration for better quality and performance!
Enabled GPU UI rendering
Is there any file/config code I can copy and modify into my rom?

You have to contact mike1986 for that , its his ROM and regardless of what you do you'll need his permission to use it in your ROM
not sure if all ICS roms have this option (im using virtuous inquisition) but if i goto Settings->Debug, there is an option to force GPU rendering

Yes, but if you turn that on, it tends to break some apps and widgets. It sounds ultra nifty, because, you know, GPUs are vastly superior to ordinary PUs (Like CPUs and Abaci or abacuses...or abacum..) but it will crash some apps that aren't made to run on the higher level of enlightenment. Lots of plain vanilla stuff with no transparency or 3D effects are what mostly jacked my phone up. It drove me nuts until I turned it off and everything started working again.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure it's as simple as adding "debug.sf.hw = 1" to the build.prop.

This is a tweak I came accross while browsing some threads on xda. What is does is it forces hardware rendering instead of forcing cpu to carry out all the renderings..This is all I know about it.
Tested this out and I noticed slight performance boosts.Games are a bit faster and all those frequent "hiccups" which we experience on tipo are reduced ,if not eliminated.
Works on phones with adreno200 gpus..
for more info and to download the tweak, please refer the original thread

Hi,
I can not make the CWM, gives error.
However I did the manual procedure:
Put a unzip file: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=976632&d=1333283208 in the file folder system/lib/egl/ and deleted the libGLES_android.so from egl folder.
I changed the build.prop, as the line was not added at the end dalvik.vm.dexopt-flags=m=y,o=v,u=y and recorded.
I did restart the smartphone,'ve played but honestly I do not notice improvements.
I look forward to more opinions.

Won't forcing gpu rendering for all apps reduce battery life?

Well you are right in a way..there were no improvements in the general ui fluidity..but my claim is based on the fact that the games which I tested(dead trigger , bad piggies and offload legends) were definately smoother.Lesser stutterings
Others please try it out and post you opinions

I also have noticed slight performance boosts in my Xperia Tipo. But I'm not sure if this will have any negative effects in the smartphone, because I guess that Sony would have set down this option by default for a reason
P.D.: Yes, I'm not english and I probably I would have mistakes, but i hope for you can understand me!
edit: What i have done is enable the option in Settings -> Developer options -> Force GPU rendering
this script like supermacy?
ICS already using hardware rendering instead of software rendering for the default setting. you might feel drastic change if you're using GB based rom. however, if you're using ICS based rom you won't feel anything. anyway, if you want to do it in easier way, go to setting>developer option>force gpu for 2d rendering.

Force rendering is essential only for Old apps which don't use GPU. Forcing that will be effective only for those apps.
This will cause GPU to be running all time. Basic graphic tasks are handled by CPU very well. If there are lags then System uses GPU.
There may be slight performance improvement on cost of decreased battery life. So its better to leave it unmarked.
:good:
adrenalin engine
If you really want to unlock the potential of tipo use THIS
✔ Increase touchscreen sensitivity
✔ Less RAM usage through zipalign. | World first smart zipaligning
✔ Reduced /dbdata, /data, /sdcard usage of *.db files and faster database access. | World first smart sqlite optimizing
✔ Faster disk access through remount script (noatime, disabled barrier etc) | World first smart remounting
✔ Better network throughput from TCP tweaks and 3G tweaks
✔ Tons of prop tweaks
✔ Overall Better Performance and Battery Life
✔ Less lags through LMK Tweak and Various VM Tweaks
✔ Faster SDCARD Read/Write Speed
✔ Bypass website like thepiratebay.se
NOTE: There are two different zips for stock and CM..
I have been using Stock+Adrenalin for quite sometime now. It is stable.

Hello,
I’m proud to share with you my little contribution to easily change GPU speed.
Intro:
In AOKP rom based android 4.1+, it’s easy to change the GPU frequency. Many devices are stable while GPU overclocked.
To change GPU speeds simply edit /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc
Values:
0: normal frequency (for example, 307 Mhz on some devices)
1: medium
2: high (for example, 512 Mhz on some devices)
But, it’s not my goal to discuss it.
My app:
Here is my app to select GPU speed on the fly (normal, medium or high).
This app need root and secure settings plugin (from google play). Write in system need root.
The app change only the value in the file “gpu_oc” with 0, 1 or 2. The design is simple, don’t blame me.
If I helped, then press my thanks button
Before use it, go to edit the following file to check value:
/sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/gpu_oc
If there is 0, 1 or 2, then you are able to use this app. If not, or if the file is missing, then don’t use this app.
Use this app only with AOKP rom based with Android JB 4.1+
Some devices can't handle GPU overclocking well and might freeze/reboot and it may be necessary to adjust voltages.
After GPU OC, if your device freeze, just reboot and GPU will not be overclocking.
Use at your own risk, I’m not responsible of any damage on your device.
Required:
- AOKP rom based
- Android JB 4.1+
- Secure settings plugin from google app store
- File "gpu_oc" here in /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq
If you tried on other rom and if it worked, then come back to tell me.
Downloads:
Click on attached files below to download the app : GPU_OC.apk
>>> To test GPU speed, use nenamark2 from google app store.

excellent thank you
you should probably warn people that some phones cant handle gpu oc well and might freeze/reboot and it may be necessary to adjust voltages
Doesn't even ask for root access. Its either fake or poorly wrote.

If you don't have anything positive or productive to say about the app don't say nothing at all
Don't listen to this guy
-App DOES ask for root permission
-I checked /sys/devices/system/CPU.... And its written like it should be.
-Ran a benchmark on my GS3 before usage , ran it again with higher scores... So it does make a difference.
Device: ATT GS3
ROM: AOKP 4.2.2
no OC or extra kernel features.
Thnx for this app

Running on Mokee 4.4.2, Tab 2, Dohllmen Kernel. Have yet to test with above-mentioned app, but will do tomorrow. My Tabs animations do seem to be snappier on the medium setting. Look forward to seeing the numbers tomorrow. Thank you!

Dhollmen Kernel results (Nenamark2)
1.0ghz with GPU 0 = 28.2 fps
1.4ghz with GPU 0 = 28.6 fps
1.4ghz with GPU 1 = 30.0 fps
1.4ghz with GPU 2 = 35.2 fps
GPU 0 means 300mhz
GPU 1 means 384mhz
GPU 2 means 512mhz
your results should be as follows
Great work. Tested it on Samsung Tab 2 10.1 with Dhollmen kernel n CM11 nightly. Question is, how do I set the higher gpu rate at boot?

I can't see the file in my Xperia C4 E5303. Does that mean that It will not work for me?
hi i need help i saw some folders in sys directory called folder name sys/module/fuse/《《 is this folder knox fuse??
sys/module/dm-verity/
and sorry for off topic ?
I have 2 phones, Xperia T running 5.1.1 and an Xperia M running aosp 6.0.1 with nui kernel.
before doing this I could run it on the but was really laggy and the game was unplayable on the T.
Things you will need;
-root
-gl tools
Now you need to install gltools and install the 2nd driver.( on the play store but its paid, no warez here so no links)
Now open gl tools and find pokemon go.
Check force 16 bit rendering and optimise glsl shaders. Next set render resolution to 0.5 (doesn't effect a whole load but helped with the Ts 720 screen, probably not needed for lower res) and set downscale textures to 0.5. That's it done!
After doing this, the game runs butter smooth on my T and runs somewhat smoother on my M. This is all because the app uses less ram (was hitting nearly 600mb ram at most)
Let me know if it helped

Yeah, especially in built up areas my game has went from using 570mb ram at max to just under 300mb
