So cydia has made its way to android, has anybody used it yet and is this going to do anything special for us?

+1 on the link. Lastime i used it, it was malware. It made 4 apps on my homscreen for games and online deals and such.

Cydia on android??

It's not malware. Is this enough proof for you? http://www.xda-developers.com/android/cydia-substrate-released-by-saurik-for-android/

I tried it but it gave me an error called frowny pants and nothing else. Supposedly winterboard is available but I couldn't get past frowny pants.

You will need to make sure you are on a 4.2.2 ROM. Any ROM I tried it with that was using 4.1.2 would give me frowny pants. I also know its not malicious. I have used it during for my iPhone forever with no problems.

We don't care about the iPhone here. We know what cydia is, what we were asking was, if the android Cydia app was malicious of some sort. We must be careful of Apps that require root

I own an iPhone 5 along with an iPod touch 5g, I KNOW what it is, and I didn't make the statement, all I asked for was a link. Literally my first comment was "link?". And just because an app has a name doesn't mean anything. I can easily make a malicious app name it "iTunes" throw it out there. Are you going to say "well I know what iTunes is so its safe!". No. Please leave now.

Like Titanium Backup, WiFi Tether, ROM Manager, AdFree, and more..... In the case of saurik's app, his reputation should give people little hesitation in installing it.

People have their opinions! I love samsung too! But I'm not a big fan of touchwiz. I love AOSP and Sense 5.

Note 3 root!!

Got my note 3 leaked in the mail today and i skipped my college class just to start working on a root guide! the note 3 has a similar rooting method to the s4 so my guide should be up when the note 3 is released

Well, not everyone got the update since Samsung suspended the new update due the issue that the update has. So we hope the best to come.
Do you mind if I ask why did you update your phone?

There is some root methods as they have been talked about, although its questionable if they are truly malware or not. But many people on the VZW S4 side have used it including these cleanup tools to remove any traces of the supposedly malware side. So its upto you to decide if you want to use that method or not. That's about all we can say here on this as we cannot link to those methods right now as the moderation team is trying to evaluate if those root methods are malware or not.

Cause I'm the type of guy who wants stability... And if there's an update that will provide such stability, then I'm all for it. And aslo, despite all the post going around about it being almost impossible to root after taking the update, I just didn't believe it to be so. Oh, and also because I'm a bit of a risk - taker as well! ?

I also can confirm this. Worked fine for me too.
Just a side note, I have heard good luck from using SuperUser OTA Survival mode in MF3 then upgrading to MJ9.

Call AT&T (or visit their service center) and get your phone replaced (if under warranty). I told them what happened, and they switched mine without a problem. They said a lot of people have been switching their phones for the same reason.
