I remember many posts I've read in the past wishing that someone could develop a camera app with an incremental manual focus feature, that gave an on screen bar that you'd move to control the focus. No one found a solution after toying with existing camera apks. After playing with the LG G2, I've found that the camera app has that feature.
If anyone more proficient at app development could create an apk usable for other android phones based off of the LG G2, I would be MOST appreciative; I also believe many people in this community would be grateful as well, as that's such an underrated feature for a camera. :cyclops:

Hopefully this info gives someone what they need to create one!
Most cameras only support autofocus and it is handled by the system not app itself.
You can touch where to focus/set focus at macro or infinity. The slider in that app allows as much only.. macro >auto/touch>infinity.
There are a few other modes but none provide any precise control over focus.
P.S. I could be wrong, you can check out Camera.Parameters for more info.

Hello there.
I have two devices that share almost the same hardware (same chipset, just different display), so I successfully ported framework from one to the other (G14 to G11i). The thing is that camera app from G11i had really nice features when compared to camera app from G14. Even more important than that is that auto-focus is not working any more, so I was trying to port that app as well. The thing is that the app doesn't appear on app drawer.
Can someone please guide me on what can be the cause for this? I have attached both apk's.
Is there any developer willing to help?
Here's a log while trying to install the Camera application.

Do you think this could be the problem why the app doesn't appears on the drawer (if I push it to /system/app)? How can I make the app signatures match those in android.media?
I have managed to solve this problem by modifying AndroidManifest.xml and re-signing the application. This may be useful to others.
(off-topic: it's just a pity that no one showed up for help)
By no one answering this you did just what you were supposed to. You learned how to fix it yourself. Its what XDA is all about. Learning something new and how to fix your issue. Glad you got it working.

I like your app mate. However I'm not very fond of the icon you used, because as a thumbnail it doesn't look nice.
Also for a future release you might wanna consider adding a my wallpapers section where all downloads are kept. From there enable the option for automatic car changing.
Great selection by the way. I've been looking for good looking wallpapers for a while. App works good on my nexus 7 with CM11, however in landscape mode thumbnails start to flash and can't be seen, unless clicked upon. Issue is not present in portrait mode.
Edit: after a bit of browsing the flashing issue is present in all sections both in portrait and in landscape. Clicking on an item brings up a toast error that image isn't in favorites.

Thanks, I will check all issues with tablet, I use nexus 5 and also have android tablet for sure I will diagnose this problem, Thanks a lot for ideas
Thanks, that's great !
Hi everyone,
Have you ever seen a screenshot of a Computer, but captured with a smartphone camera? Do you hate them as much as I do? Well now I got a simple but efficient solution for this problem.
Introducing DeskShot:
DeskShot allows you to create a Screenshot of your computer with your smartphone with the press of a button. All it needs is a small java program running on your computer and thats it. At the moment you can only capture your primary screen and only the whole screen but I'm going to add a way to capture only a portion of a screen.
The App is in a beta state right now. To install it either download it from the attachments section below or join the Google+ Community (plus.google.com/communities/109206966394527976430) and register as a tester to get automatic updates.
The backend requires Java 7 or higher to run and can be downloaded from the attachments. It defaults to port 2555 but I will add configuration options soon.
I would like to hear whether the app is working for you too and I would love to hear feature requests or improvements in the UX.

Download: Adobe Photoshop Camera (preview) for Android is now live!
Please download, install & feedback what you guys think about it with sample photos etc.
I installed on Samsung Note 8 working for now haven't hit any crashes yet.
Will upload samples when I done shooting with the app.
Crashes after taking a photo on my Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with Miui 10.3.5 (Pie).
But the most frustrating thing is that, except for the filters and so, the options are extremely poor: only 2 picture sizes, no panorama, no ... Nothing.
I am going to uninstall it.
It is preview, I do not expect it to work or work well.
See where it goes.
Installed and works on Xperia 1 Android 10 but no gallery? There is no option to choose storage?
I don't know where it stores the pictures, the share button works though.
Kind of cool but the edge detection needs work. I imagine stability and storage options would improve with device specific inclusions.

so, I recently purchased a new phone. The first thing I did with it is installing a Gcam as the camera is terrible and I can't use it. Only google camera is the saviour for me, so I went to google and searched for a Gcam for my device and eventually got this idea to create an app where Gcams for all devices are collectively placed and users can download them, As a result, this app was born.
what exactly this app does?
As I stated earlier, The ultimate goal is to reduce the effort of users in downloading Gcams for their devices, In the app, there are multiple brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, realme, Asus(More brands coming soon..) Users can select the model they want and download the camera. Whenever an update comes to a Gcam for a device, the user doesn't need to update his app the app provides the up to date links every time the app is opened as the URL's are being fetched from a database.

Wanna contribute to me?
As the number of devices is increasing day by day its a pain to find the stable Gcams for all devices, so I require a team that sends me the updates of the specific devices.
