[Q] loading ROM via nvflash - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is this still possible? My eeepad TF is kinda hosed... I cant even factory reset it through the android system settings or the recovery. In either case the operation appears to succeed but upon reboot lots if stuff is still there. Even tried to install a new zip from the recovery and that didnt help things.
Besides these 2 weird things, tablet is acting squirrley otherwise as well, so id like to blow it away and start from scratch with a nvram load of some ROM, but dont seem to find any ROMs in the dev section that have download links that are nvflash-compatable.

You can load the stock ROM via NVFlash using EasyFlasher.

[Q] [HELP NEEDED] Asus TF101 Stuck on splash screen ADB doesn't work!

Right, I searched on numerous pages on these wonderful forums, but couldn't quite find what I was looking for. So I'll try my luck here. I'll describe my problem.
My TF101 was rooted using the CWM recovery. After doing more research I found out I shouldn't be doing this. But, unfortunately the damage has already been done. After several succesful ROM installations I wasn't quite happy with, I tried one last CM10 install. That's when it all went to ****. My TF101 has been stuck on the Eee Pad splash screen for nearly 2 months now.
Normally when going into the recovery mode I can simply select install from SD card and install a new rom. Now it can't seem to mount and displays E:Can't mount \SD card or whatever.
Further on, I tried using the ADB tools to manually restore system files. Without luck. After which I tried to install the naked USB drivers using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1426502. Without luck as well. I simply ran out of ideas.
The thing is, in Device manager I do see a device called Android. But, for some reason I can't seem to install any drivers for it. I guesse this would be the first step towards getting it back to work? Or perhaps I should just get it fixed at the computer store?
Any sugestions would be more than welcome!
Easy Flasher will get you back to stock as long as you can access APX. You will lose all data however.
1st mistake read forum before you do something, coz you would have learnt abt CWM issues, anyway thatsvan old story
You got Two options, find an flash able twrp.zip and flash it using current recovery if its still working otherwise as the other guy says easyflasher
To use easy flash you need
Easy flash software from forum
Universal naked driver installed
Asus firmware and PATIENCE
Follow the steps given in the forum and you should get back a tablet running stock rom, then if you want then use easy flash to root your device again but this time use TWRP recovery.....
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda app-developers app
Right, so far I've done everything I could find. I have installed the naked ADB files and thus was able to make a connection through USB. However, I wasn't able to push any files onto the tablet through ADB commands.
I entered the (what I assumed to be) APX mode and tried to use EasyFlasher. It seemed to have worked, because a DOS screen asked me whether or not I wanted to overwrite several files. After ending the procedure I rebooted my tablet. And guesse what: CWM is still there and the tab is still stuck on the Splash screen. Also the internal SD still can't be mounted.
What am I doing wrong. I'm slowly but surely going mad here....
hmmm, easyflasher should not prompt you to overwrite anything, it should just wipe it clean. The only prompt is when you select SBK1 or SBK2.
Can you post screenshots? It'd help us understand what exactly is going on...

Right. Apparently I didn't put it in APX mode correctly. Windows asked me to install APX drivers. Which I now did. I then (I assume) was able to install the new recovery. The screen says !!!!phone update succes!!!!!. As we speak I am trying to install the stock ROM. Fingers crossed.....

I'll just sum up what I've been doing so far, because it still ain't working for me....
1) Put the TF101 in APX mode using POWER + VOLUME UP
2) Started up EasyFlasher 0.8.3 and selected "Flash Asus stock zip / Unbrick"
3) When prompted "file ..\temp\META-INF\MANIFEST.MF" already exists I selected "A(u)to rename all"
4) And then starts doing it's thing
5) Stuck at creating and formatting 15 partitions with several three letter codes.
I've ran the program three times now, but without luck. Any sugestions?~
[EDIT]Alright, managed to get it to work! Ended the tasks in through task manager about 4 times, but the 5th time was a charm. Exactly work as said. All thanks to EasyFlasher![/EDIT]

cant enter apk after uninstalling

I was having trouble rooting. Started a couple threads here about a couple different methods I tried. It seems the nvflash method may have worked but it seems the instructions for this were removed and I didn't know I had to put the rom inside the nv flash folder. My failed nvflash showed a bunch of formatting/partioning info on pc screen in a cmd prompt before saying successful and force closing. This left tablet with a entering recovery message stuck on screen. I then went into device manager to update my apx. I had previously gone into w8 advanced settings to uninstall a apx to apply a different one but when I went into device manager my android wan't there. I notice when I hold down power/ down i get a usb sound of dissconecting followed quickly by a sound of connecting but still no sign of device on device manager. In view under device manager I clicked show hidden items. There I saw the android. I then uninstalled them but I don't see a way to install new APX and ever since my fail nvflash tf101 wont boot. Please tell me I didn't brick! And I dont have system restore on my PC. I was thinking to bring back driver:crying:
Best not to keep making new threads for the same issue, keep everything in one thread or people will stop replying / mods will close duplicate threads
well even though I didn't see apx in device manager I was able to run easy flasher and flash stock android so I'm very relieved to have a working tf101. transformer rebooted successfully
Good stuff, so long as you don't try to mess with TWRP recovery again, you shouldn't run into any more issues, you can flash customs ROMs from recovery from now on, just make sure you keep TWRP as your recovery and not CWM

[Resolved] curtis klu lt7035-j minor success!

some notes
rooted using Root RK29 Tab Toolkit 1.3.
reset and vol + = flash mode rock usb.
RKAndroidToolv1.37 and RKBatchToolv1.7 work for flashing.
used rock usb driver included in either of the flash
tools. when flashing several things needed done to
enable flashing and or adb. do not enable usb storage
on the device. on windows pc used the safely remove
mass storage tool. only on the removable drives that
showed in my computer after plugging in the tablet.
in RKAndroidTool or RKBatchTool use the "switch" button
to put the unit into flash mode. I used RKAndroidTool
to flash the cwm. I tried several cwms, PER5274B_CWM.zip
was only one to boot to recovery for me
(tried many including ones from developerof cwm, just
happened to find one to boot after trying
over and over). so far. succesfully made full backups of
the unit to sd card. obviously mount the ext sd in cwm
first before backing up to sd. succesfully flashed
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip using PER5274B_CWM.
the stock recovery tool rejected all gapps. note gapps
sometimes closes for no apperent reason with no error.
all other gapps versions i tried crash soon as i
opened them.
cwm file working so far PER5274B_CWM.zip. have only figured
out how to boot to recovery using reboot apk.
key combo is unknown to me so far. actively trying other cwms.
Other cwm's have booted to a white screen for me.
a word to the wise, make full flash backup soon as you
get cwm on. its the only way to turn back to stock as
far as i know. I cannot find a factory rom for this
unit anywhere.
downloading cm 10.1 for rk29xxboard now, will report
results!
Cheers hope this helps out someone.
well cm10 didnt work out so well. the unit is now resting with no response. I can however still flash it with rkandroidtool. the issue I am facing now is I do not have a full dump image for this unit. I am looking for one that will at least allow me to get it to boot properly to cwm lol. I can see it with rkbatchtool as well. what I would need there is the proper parameter file. pretty sure thats all I need. I did happen to make a backup with cwm but if I cant get the tablet into cwm (currently a no go) thats not going to help me. figures I have since found out how to generate a parameter file.
good news is its not dead, just not working.
I have gotten my moneys worth out of it, not only in using this tablet but also in hacking the thing passing time.
will report further updates.
Cheers!
Well its running again, after many firmwares etc. I have the stock firmware running and two others I have modded removing system Apks I didn't want and adding a few as well.
Have several cwm backups as well, a few I plan to post links to. Googleplay works to, root, cwm and busybox also.
Still trying to get hardware keys working to launch cwm at boot by editing the parameter file. It will run when I edit the file with notepad++ and flash it but then I end up in a cwm boot loop forcing me to reflash the orig parameter file to get out of it. Cold boot will get me out if I completely drain the battery otherwise nothing short of flashing it will get me out of cwm. Using notepad++ and inserting "COMBINATION_KEY: 0,6,A,7,0" right after the kernel IMG line gets the power + volume key to start cwm at boot. Then I can't get back out lol.

Stinkster,
Have you made any other progress? Got my kids couple LT7035-F tablets.
Thanks
To the both of you... LT7035-J
curtisint has firmware for model lt7035-j; however, when using rkbatchtool it fails at 97%. My tab is only able to connect to the pc as of now. I can see it with batchtool; however, have not found a firmware.img file to flash to it that completes and works. Very interested in the parameters file you speak of in your second post. Don't know what you know now but I was able to get it root with a tool I found on the net. I think I have it somewhere. Well anyway I was trying to reflash stock firmware because I had no sound just a popping noise/key tone which was silent only when mute. If anyone could help out with a firmware.img that will work for me that would be great.
stink you sound like you know what you are talking about, do u java develop or something?

[Q] TF101 cwm loop. I've looked (and looked), but..see thread

Alright, I hate being that guy. You know, the one who posts the same question as 50 other people because he is too lazy to search. But in my defense, I have spent the last three days pouring over thread after thread and still can't find the answer, so please be patient and gimme a break!
So, I'm stuck in CWM 5.8.3.4 loop after flashing Katkiss and not knowing I couldn't use the "boot to recovery" option. I've got no access to my micro SD card and my x64 Win 7 won't recognize the TF101 so I can't put my own recover zip on. Cold boot goes to the screen that lets me boot Android or Wipe. If I pick Android, it hangs (for hours). I've wiped everything and reinstalled Katkiss, Revolver, Revolution, but I have the same problems.
Is there a thread that starts from the BEGINNING of the fix and sees it through? I've found dozens of threads that say, "Just input (code), flash, and you're done!", but I guess I'm not that far along. I've bricked Dinc/Dinc2, Razrs, etc., but never had trouble fixing them like this TF101.
I've got ADB, JDK, Ubuntu, etc. since I've tried numerous times. Also, I've had no luck with the one-touch fixes. I know I'm missing something easy, I just can't figure it out.
Thank you.
Incidentally, I've tried ***http://www.transformerforums.com/fo...ry-bootloop-fix-tested-my-c10-windows.html*** , but the SDK files come in a zip, not exe and none of the files execute/install in such a way that will let me input commands. I know I'm missing something because a soft brick isn't that big of a deal.
Huh. I don't know what happened, but it involved me cleaning the screen, accidentally pushing buttons, and rebooting, and now it works. No clue, but as long as I never shut it off again, I'm set!
You're gonna need to get the PC to recognise it to fix it I'd say
Easiest way would be using Easyflasher to get TWRP recovery installed, it sounds like you have stock recovery installed at the minute
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1688012
Few people have needed new cables to get the PC to recognise the TF again, might just be needing the correct drivers though which are also linked on that page
Basically install the drivers, put the TF into APX mode,
(Vol Up & Power from powered off state while plugged into the PC)
Then run Easyflasher as admin and choose to flash TWRP (CWM is probably the reason for the bootloop, it doesn't play nice with JB ROMs)
Once you have TWRP installed, flash whichever ROM you want from new recovery and you should be good to go
I appreciate the suggestion, but that isn't doing it. I have the tab booted up and recognized by Windows, but when I try to update to a different CWM or TWRP, nothing happens. I can reboot into CWM 5.8.3.4 all day, but it won't say anything about any different recoveries I've tried to install, though the recoveries appear to be installing correctly according to the dialog given on the tablet.
I've also tried running NVflash, but nothing happens (apx drivers installed). The BAT file briefly says USB not recognized and closes.
Further, I've tried Easyflasher / one click root+recovery and I just get messages saying "ADB server out of date. Killing." The tab still reboots, but upon rebooting, it gets stuck in CWM 5.8.3.4 unless I force cold boot.
I guess the best way to describe this is to say that no matter what I do with the tab or different recoveries, I can't get rid of CWM 5.8.3.4 and no matter what I do, it default boots into CWM.
It default boots into CWM.... I think that is the key here
I remember something about that from a while ago, having to hold Power & Volume Down to boot normally, as if the OS and Recovery partitions were reversed
Unfortunately I can't remember the solution atm, but if you head over to transformerforums.com or give frederuco a PM from here or over there, Im pretty sure I remember him having a solution some time back
I shot him a message. Thanks for the suggestion.
I swear all I did was root, install Katkiss, and reboot into recovery. Is this a common problem to have THIS much trouble with such a simple process? I know now that booting into recovery can cause a loop, but this seems like way too much.
It's having CWM as your recovery when you flash a JB ROM that causes the problems
CWM & JB = Problems
TWRP is the recovery to use once you get out of this mess, good luck

[Completed] MT-6572 (UBIFS) Stuck android screen

Hi, I'm having a problem with my china devices, its model is Tab mini(sounds like not popular in here maybe) Its hard to get the rom out there, cause of the ubifs which makes cant do anything.
I have 3 problem recently
First, is that my phone currently having malware attack, maybe not too popular here, which makes you install app automatically and thats a spam,
These are the method i tried
1. Install bit defender antivirus, malwarebyte, avast antivirus, no luck, cause the malware cant be detected. So I decided to reset factory on it and what happened is looks normal, but installed some apps like games, browser automatically, once you turned on wifi or mobile data (internet access) the malware start to act and download, install apps, some pop up like adobe air stopped, moboginie stopped, etc. And the device start unresponsive. You also cant install apps though play store so i need to download apk from pc and copy it to the phone, and install it. And this might be ridiculous is that when i switch off wifi, the malware automatically turned on, so i need to forget wifi to stop them. and some pop up like install browser like light browser, games, etc. And thats is my first problem any answer? I searched google and they said need to flash your device to stock or custom rom so your device formatted to a new system. Cause i only think that the malware attached to system so its imposibble to eliminate it. Any suggestion?
Second, is that how to install/flash custom recovery, cause currently my only recovery is chinese language which doesnt have the ability to install zip, and only can reset my phone, i put how my recovery looks like in the picture below. See all chinese and only can test hardware, etc. No option to install zip. So I tried to install cwm, but no hope cause cwm not support ubifs. Tried TWRP setup.exe (i put it below)from computer but it gave me Ported recovery.img is too large & causes region overlap . And i tried CTR (calvik touch recovery) gave same result on TWRP. Ever tried to install it from mobile uncle, but no hope, it wont boot into recovery i needed instead it go to chinese recovery. I know all this must be cause by UBIFS which makes all problem. The reason why i want to install custom recovery is install custom rom to eliminate malware. And cause huge problem so my last hope is use SP flash tool
Third, Before I go flash , i go backup my stock rom using MTK droid tool, and it works, successfully backed up currently stock rom and scatter files . But when I flash is using SP flash tool, it showed success and when i open my device works normally but still affected by malware, so this is my last option was format device using SP flash tool, format tab, click Auto format flash, And formal whole flash except boot loader. When done format I realize i make a big mistake, I formatted the system. When I try to flash stock again, and what happened is stuck on android logo. (Congrats you just destroy your phone) well when i googled the say just go recovery and wipe data. What happenes is that i cant go recovery, maybe i messed up the recovery there. And now my phone is in Stuck android logo. I need someone help me in this stuff idk what to do now any suggestion guys?
Thanks XDA Developers
Please reply ASAP
PS: If you guys need boot image, recovery image, etc i backed up just ask in comment i really need help from seniors
Thank you

Hello,
Regarding your first question. It is somewhat related to browser as well as websites you visit which have those ads in them. They download and auto install. You need to stay careful there.
For second question, you may visit here. I believe that's the thing you have been looking for.
For third question, maybe flash the recovery and restore to stock. SP Flashtool
Also, There isn't much a community for your device. You may try posting your query here.

Well i have fix it, What i do is flash rom that might gives u black screen not stuck boot logo, and gives u black screen, dont owrry you can flash your original rom, after flash ur original rom, it gives you stuck apple logo (thats how chinese device wanna be ipad), and stuck again. Dont worry cause now you can go to recovery mode and wipe EMMC, and it works normally. However my malware still founded, so i decided not to play woth it again, cause it spent few days on the device, and right now i just want to sell to them as normal rather than stuck logo screen.
Remember, no matter what please backup your stock rom so that you can flash it later, and if you are dont know what you are doing dont foormat the whole system.
Thanks XDA developers
