I'm surprised that the calculator doesn't run in a window but only full screen, in my original Note and Note 10.1 it does. Are there any alternatives that will run in a window?

Just checked it's aircalc not "air calc" - it brings up a completely different one in Play store:silly:

I did use it for a while, but I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer so I messed up a lot, an operator was interpreted as something different and the only way I could get it right was to erase everything and start over.

Hi i found this cool feature in note 2 that after removing s pen and the phone is taken to a distance then it alerts the phone of missing spen. Can it be implied in note 1 too?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda app-developers app
It has sensors to detect it which is missing on note. That's why we can't get th spen buddy page too

photoshop is a great app but the problem is that that for most basic users it does not have all the features or its very difficult to acess or too cumbersome
I use photo editor.. Good, fast and have plenty of features for quick edit
Other one i use is picsay pro photo editor which was free from amazon app store sometime ago...
There are many others too.. You can try a few and see what fits u the best .
I must have installed a 4 or 5 apps.
For jeebus sake I just want to select, copy, and paste in a new file. Takes me 3 clicks in XP. Ugh.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using XDA Premium HD app
It does not come any more basic then ps touch that came with the tablet.
Sent from my GT-N8013 using Tapatalk 2
I guess im looking more for a drawing app than a full blown editor.
Lets say I have a pic of a cat and I want to doodle a top hat on its head. With PS Touch its buried under a whole bunch of crap. With paint, I just start doodling.
I'll just have to google around. Or bust out the SDK and code something but I have other projects im working on right now. Moving, work, etc.

I totally agree. Especially for the tasks mentioned by the OP.
Actually I use ps touch a lot more than desktop applications now, because it is so simple to use, and the s pen gives you better feeling and accuracy.
Get PhotoDesk... open a pic, click edit and start doodling,.... plus it's got a bunch of built clip art and stuff
I think it's exactly whst you're looking for... really easy and it organizes your photos really well too...

This is what I get when selecting wallpaper. May be the way (TW / AOSP) ROM handles wallpaper cropping.

Try to use a different gallery app when making your lockscreen, and don't use the wallpaper chooser app.

isn't there a line at the bottom of your screan that shows a crop symbol? click on that and it will allow you to crop it to meet portrait size
:cyclops:Just think we should have an Off Topic thread where we can post random but somewhat Note 3 related stuff.
Have fun!
Check this video out of a .50 cal shooting an iPhone 5c

Don't think that iPhone 5c or .50 cal is remotely related to a Note3.
Too off topic.

This is for our note 3 section. We have one for the s3 when I had one and it came in handy for whatever those users wanted to talk about.
Oh well! thought it would be nice.

Won't you miss all these features from TW?
Don't get me wrong, if this was any other device it would be on CM ASAP but this is a Note and has a ton of features that will not make it outside of Touchwhiz

It looks more like an oversized S2 rather than bigger version of S4.

Meh. Most if not all the features can be replicated with apps from the Play Store. I just love the beauty and speed of stock android.

Not really! I had the note 2 and then went to the nexus 4 because I thought having a nexus would be the best thing. Unfortunately it was pretty boring compared to the notes features besides screen size. Then after using CM it was OK but still there isn't much to AOSP.
But that's me! And my opinion and I highly doubt I will ever flash CM until maybe when the note 4 comes.

Anyone else had this, when recording video at night with the flag light on...there seems to be done balls of lights coming across the screen intermittently, like the disco ball effects. It's on auto mode.

Also had the nexus 4. My ROM of choice was ParanoidAndroid and the Hybrid engine, Per-App-Color, and other things made stock android much more interesting (without comprimising the looks). The only TW feature I use is Screen Write, but the app "Ink over Apps" takes care of that. Combine with GMD S-Pen Gesture control and you've got the best of both worlds.

I don't know. I just found my self making my nexus to look like Touchwhiz
I guess I got use to it. Plus I really love the Super Oled screen. To me it's the most wonderful screen to look at.
