It is impossible to use the bottom command for rebooting into recovery mode in stock ROM.
Code:
$ reboot recovery
Then, I made a patch for solving this problem.
After installing this patch, you can reboot into recovery mode to type the bottom command into ADB or Terminal Emulator application.
Code:
$ reboot-recovery
This .zip file is installed through ClockworkMod Recovery.

Or if your on custom rom you can just go to settings, Privacy and click factory data reset.. it wont delete anything click reset phone and it will take you into your CWM recovery..
It won't delete anything because you do not have the original recovery it will just go to cwm recovery you do what you need to and reboot. You don't lose anything unless you format while your in recovery. Simple solution. But thank you very much for this ...

Oops.. oh my mistake... I edited this thread..
This patch just enable rebooting into recovery mode(like CWM Recovery) easily.
This patch may enable that adding "restart" button into shutting down menu is easy.

Hello iBluemind and thanks for your work. This is a real "patch" or a replacement binary? I see it is somehow old, now.
Can we use it, for example, on my Samsung GT-S7562 (Duos S) that's rooted and re-flashed with stock 4.0.4 ROM (DDBMJ1) that was deoxed, rooted, optimized, bloatware-removed etc.? The only thing that I am trying to achieve and that's not there is the "Reboot into Recovery" option when selecting power menu… (or even reboot to recovery via SSH command, of course, as it doesn't happen now).
Many thanks to everyone!
Bro just type su before reboot recovery on stock to reboot to recovery!
THIS A GENERAL GUIDE FOR NOOBS(WHO ARE NEW TO ROMS)
OK first you need your device to have unlocked boot loader, and have a recovery installed. And always do a bit of research.
hint: google- unlock bootloader .......
- root and add recovery in ....... {replace ..... with the name of your device}
[this guide assumes that you have above prerequisites]
1) download your rom[be sure that the rom you download is for your device]
2) put it in the root of your sd card (not in any folder)
3) boot into recovery(CWM,etc.)
4) first create a backup of your existing ROM by going in -backup and restore>backup
5) select wipe data/reset > yes
6) select install zip from sd card >yes
7)reboot
ENJOY !
just be sure
just be sure that the rom you downloaded is for your device
For wipin i prefer use superwipe.zip of akya22

You'll want to add 'clear cache and dalvik' after flashing. Tends to make flashing ROMs more regularly successful.

Factory reset formats /cache, /data, and /sdcard/.android_secure.
Clearing cache would be a waste of time since it's already formatted and dalvik cache is in /data so no need to wipe that either.

you don't have to press vol up key .
you need to press the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button), while holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device by Pressing he Power ON button.
and the rest is the same procedure
hope it helps !

Hello friends,
First of all I am sorry if I am posting this in a wrong area..
Secondly, Yes, I have read everything related to this topic.
I rooted my phone...
Trying to upgrade it to DROID35.7.905BloatedDeodexed.zip
I get E: signature verification error..
Then I was told to install CWM.. I install Rom Manager v5.5.1.5
However the "Toggle signature checking" option which everyone is talking about, is not there..
When I select the option "Reboot into Recovery", the phone just normally reboots, and never go to recovery mode.
Can you guys pleassse help me in this regard? Is there any way I could turn off this signature verification option?
Is there a way to do it manually, via command line etc?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
any one ?
Stupid question but are you hitting the right buttons to boot into cwm? Vol up/vol down & power(at least on note)
Sorry if its stupid but I find it best to start simple.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Yes I do...
However, when I shutdown phone, then hit power+volUP+volDOWN ... it goes to same android's recovery system, and not to CWM's.
In the CWM I have flashed it again and again successfully..
That's just odd. Maybe go to twrp if cwm isn't working out for you?
Keep in mind I'm no dev or android guru, just taking shots in the dark. When I get a chance ill look more into it and hopefully come up with an answer that sounds like I know what I'm talking about lol.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using xda app-developers app
Just installed and used twrp...
In in I hit the "reboot into recovery mode" option..
The mobile restarted into recovery mode, but still same recovery..
Here is what it is writen in recovery mode..
"Android system recovery <3e>"
Android system recovery utility
reboot system now
apply update from sdcard
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition

There is just no option to Toggle the varification check ..
You may want to start over with a fresh install

Dont u got advance options in clockworkmod recovery
Sent from my Micromax A50 using xda developers app
Nope! nothing seems to work.
In CWM, when I press the option "reboot into recovery mode" .. The Mobile Set just nomally restarts..
It doesn't go to recovery mode that way. :/
One possibility that comes to my mind, is that, thought CWM tells me that it has successfully flashed the mobile set, it just might not have been done.. But I am not sure.. :/
Reflash cwm once more
Sent from my Micromax A50
I have reflashed it like so many times..
When I select the option to "Reboot into recovery in CWM" .. it just normally restarts
While, when I manually select "POWER+VolUP+VolDOWN" buttons.. It goes to the standard
android recovery system.
I think cwm recovery nt prsnt in ur phne
Sent from my Micromax A50
Is there anything extra I have to do for it ?
I have rooted my phone successfully, uninstalled all the bloatwares etc..
I have installed this CWM..
Is there anything else I can do ?
Off ur phne and prss vol up+menu+power and release it on seeing logo and see u can boot in cwm
Sent from my Micromax A50
Ahh last I got this..
Actually Droid3 can not simply work with CWM..
You then have to install this app
http://goo.gl/b4b6L
After installing the bootstrap in this application.. Click on "Reboot recovery" in this very same application..
However, I installed the ics4 update from file DROID3.5.7.905BolatedDeodexed.zip...
It said the install from zip is successful, but when I restarted the phone, It's same old 2.3.4 android !!! :/
Why is this ?
guys i m flashing first time my mmx a117 , after reboot recovery its show no command and dead adroid icon what should i do and no .zip option appers in flashing with (cwm/twcp)

Download this recovery http://forum.xda-developers.com/can...t-philztouch-6-41-5-based-cwm-v6-0-4-t2758026
Put that downloaded recovery into root of the sd card (don't put it into any folder)
Then download MTK mobile uncle tools from play store
open it grant root access
then choose recovery update option click on it
after clicking on it you will see name of the downloaded recovery under recovery in sd card section DON'T GO TO RECOVERY FILE IN REMOTE ( if you have putted that into root of sd card otherwise it wont show )
click on that recovery file it wil ask to install click yes
after installation it will ask you if u want to reboot into recovery mode
That's it. THen install any rom
Hello.
I faced the same issue. But I found the fix.
While booting into recovery mode when it shows "NO command here" press 'Menu' button. It then displays option like reboot and all.
