"Sailfish perustuu Nokian ja Intelin kehittämään Meego-käyttöjärjestelmään. Sailfish on avoin, eli myös muut puhelinvalmistajat voivat käyttää sitä laitteissaan ilman lisenssimaksuja."
Same with english:
Sailfish is based on Nokia and Intel to develop Meego operating system. Sailfish is open, that is, the other phone manufacturers will be able to use it on their devices without licensing fees

Unless we get sources and a dev can port it, we probably won't see this on our phone.

Is android free...?

Hey guys my mates here think that Samsung pays Google to use there open source android project which brings me to these question. Hoe does it work when a company like HTC and Samsung use android as their operating system do they pay or is it completely free....?
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
Google can't charge for the Android source, its released as open source. They may and probably do charge for the Google apps like Market, etc. These are not open source and the reason that open source forked ROMs like CM can't include them. This is also why the cheap Chinese knockoff Android devices don't ever have Market access.
Yup that is what I am thinking but then what is the whole process that goes because HTC adds sense to their roms and releases as android how does that work
Sent from my GT-S5670 using xda premium
I just need to know the whole process that goes from obtaining a source and releasing it

Did you ever got a malware or spyware on your Android device ?

All the talk over android getting more and more malwares and spywares targeting more and more the Android os.
Did any of you guys ever got one ?
Have been using android it's been 2 years or so and nothing ...
Rooted unlocked installing apps from unknown sources and nothing.
Is this a myth to scare people from android or they really exist ?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 2
No more a myth than sinkholes or muggings.

The less dangerous form that i had the misfortune of dealing with was adware. But malware/spyware is definitely a reality sir. I guess you're just really lucky.

no..never had
I've never had a virus or anything on Windows - but that doesn't logically mean that Windows have any mal ware targeted at it.

[Q] iOS on Android?

Guys I was wondering if there is a chance to install iOS ROM on Android device I found something but I haven't tested it yet and is there any good released version of this?
Sent from my LT18i using xda app-developers app
I hope you're kidding. iOS is closed source. It would be impossible as well as illegal to install it onto one of our devices.

None of them. Sailfish has no native ARM support at the moment and Tizen is still very unstable.

[REQ] BCMON - wifi monitor mode for Nexus 5 BCM4339 chipset

Hi guys,
Do you think it's possible to get monitor mode working on our Nexus 5? If we do we can run Reaver (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2456888) and do lots of other different stuff.
I found out that the Nexus 5 uses the BCM4339 chipset. Sadly there is no developement of bcmon (http://bcmon.blogspot.ch/) since July.
bump ? some devs please read!

Not for our devices... I was hoping some dev is gonna look at this thread, but it seems nobody is interested... too bad.
I would be highly interested in Monitor Mode, too.
What is needed to realize it? The right drivers?

Is installing Kali Linux and using reaver from there an alternative?
Nopers, but if you have the knowledge, you can develop us a driver for the bcm 4339 chipset.
after that we are fine, and we can use all that cool stuff that we can't atm
So good luck ? while developing, and send me a pm if it's done!!
Greetings Tyler

What version of nexus 7 are you using? First or Second gen? What ROM are you running? Version of Android? I want to try this on my N7 gen2 when I get home today. Would love to stop using my external wifi adapter with it.
