Bug Reporting:
File your bug report here: https://sites.google.com/site/aospalrom/bug-report
Provide a logcat!! This is very important. If we are not able to reproduce the error, a logcat provides very useful information about the error source. How To Logcat
Is the bug reproducable? If yes, how?
Provide a detailed description of your problem! Just writing xyz doesn't work is sometimes not enough. What exactly doesn't work? Does it force close? Does it just not work as suspected?
Optional, but might help us to find the cause of the problem:
What customizations you have made (neither a custom kernel, mods etc.)
State the runtime you are using.
Different people are using their phones differently so it's very likely, that there are bugs we haven't noticed yet. If you don't have permission to post in the dev section, feel free to PM me or contact team AOSPAL on G+.

This is a team effort by all Team codefireX members listed below, as well as many other developers and users in the android community. The kernel is the CM10.1 kernel built from source using cfX-Toolchain, however as of writing this thread, most all custom kernels in this forum should work.
The codefireX team:
synergy(e) - lead dev
Mustaavalkosta - lead dev
michyprima - dev
Pnoire - bug tester and french translator
Rdlgrmpf - contributor
BananaGranola - contributor
Unlike with some other JellyBean roms, I believe that all users should know exactly what is being built in/for the ROM. That is why all the repos I use and maintain are available for all to see and contribute to. The codefireX source links are above the download link. Please do not ask me to include any prebuilt or proprietary applications in this ROM; I will refuse, or ignore you entirely. Using non-vendor proprietary or closed source applications/ROMs is and always will be a security concern I would rather not expose users to.
Click HERE for a full cfX settings feature flowchart by BananaGranola (thank you!)
NOT a re-named CM build
Based on AOSP master (not release) with regular AOSP master merges
Open Source as all AOSP ROMs deserve to be
Easily switch between a custom and "vanilla" experience in the settings app "on/off switch"
LOTS of customization options including quick settings
Built with a custom linaro based gcc4.7.3 toolchain, strict aliasing, -O3 completely (including thumb_cflags), and other Linaro optimizations such as OOM/LMK changes. JUST TRY TO FIND A FASTER SOURCE BUILT JELLYBEAN ROM!
Lots more but I'm boring myself already

I'm sorry about that. It only works in full tabletUI in this release. I'll release a bug fix when I get home.

Works fine in tablet mode, and I still have navbar height set after change back to default mode... That's great.
Can you add navbar menu location & visibility in navigation bar setting? It's in AOKP rom.
And ability to remove search bar in launcher .
I really like your rom with default kernel it is fast and stable so far.
Thank you.

Most likely yes. Probably included in the next release if I don't forget about it just after writing this message. :silly:
Edit: It will be in the next release. [bitbucket commit]
I fixed the FC on navbar menu. Fixed apk and flashable zip here: http://downloads.codefi.re/mustaavalkosta/codefireX-Tilapia/SR3
DISCLAIMER: Flashable zip has not been tested so use it at your own discretion.

Beautiful ROM, the best i have tried. I cannot access to windows live, skype, skydrive, there si a cookies problem... Can you help me?
Great rom! Am I supposed to be able to configure lockscreen shortcuts? I cant seem to find the feature.
Hi,
Waiting for your next release to test it properly. Question: can I flash gapps-jb-picasa-20121011-signed.zip over gapps-jb-20121212-signed.zip? Will it work?
Regards,
Great ROM! Is it possible to remove camera widget on lock screen? I often trigger camera when sliding the widget on the lock screen. It’s annoying sometimes.
Thanks and regards,
Great ROM
Great ROM !
I've found a small bug probably related to a default browser change: In Skype when I click "login using microsoft account", app is unable to show microsoft account sign-in page, and instead it displays page "Cookies must be allowed. Your browser is currently set to block cookies .... " (and they are not - I've checked it), so I'm not able to login to MSN+Skype from Skype app. I didn't had this problem with stock rom where Chrome is default browser.
"Pure skype login" works (probably because it doesn't use browser page for login from within skype app).
+1 for removing camera from lockscreen widgets, native mms app and exposing native dialer (mainly because of native sip client)
Cheers
Re: [ROM][AOSP-4.2.1][LINARO][4.7.3-Toolchain] [SR3] OFFICIAL codefireX 4.2.1 Builds
I am getting ghost text and icons in the status bar. Looks as if the area updates right over the existing icons without clearing. I am using the tablet -combined ui mode with DPI set to 180. See the attached screenshot.
If I go between landscape and portrait the screen redraws and it is fine for a while until there is a time change or a notification.

Tested more "Microsoft oriented" applications beside Skype - OneNote, Skydrive, and they all have same error "Cookies must be enabled in your browser" when I try to login to MS servers with any of them (and cookies ARE enabled in browser).
When I revert back to stock ROM, all apps work without problem.
Same problem is described in threads for codefireX ROM for Desire HD, but I can't find a solution on xda, or on the web.
I've even tried to change permissions to 777 for /data/data/com.andorid.browser/databases folder and databases in it (webview.db, webviewCookiesChromium.db, webviewCookiesChromiumPrivate.db, where cookes are supposed to be stored), but it went without a result .
Does anyone else know a solution for this issue ?

The issue is probably the global graphite optimizations. They will most likely be reverted for the next release.

FAQ(Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: What is Exodus?
A: Exodus is my personal combination of the best of both worlds. CyanogenMod features and AOKP features, merged together with AOSP elements.
Q: Do I need to flash GApps?
A: If you did a factory reset during flashing, then yes. If you did a dirty flash then most likely no.
Q: Which GApps do you recommend?
A: To each his own. I use the regular GApps that CM hosts on my Nexus 7 2013 and PA GApps on my Nexus 5. Both works really well.
Q: What is Exodia?
A: Exodia is my personal kernel that comes with Exodus. It is a minimal MOD kernel that is based on CM's stock kernel. The main MODs in Exodia include Intelliactive & Intellidemand governors, Simple I/O scheduler, Fast Charge support, and a few optimizations.
Q: Can I use another kernel?
A: Yes you can, as long as that kernel is compatible with CM based ROMs.
Q: How often is a build released?
A; The plan is to release one every 7-10 days, depending on feature merges. There may be a few times a build may be late, due to compatibility issues, and lack of time (job related).
Q: Is this CAF or AOSP based?
A: This ROM and kernel is based from CM11. If CM11 is CAF based now, then Exodus and Exodia kernel is CAF based.

Yes we are, Build 3 is up!
I have been following this thread for a bit, I think the release of build 3 is my boarding call. Thanks @Mr. Apocalypse.
ROM works great so far. Thanks!
Slim Recents would be nice to have...
Tapagetalkt via Exodus ROM vom Nexus 7 (flo)
Build 4 is up.
This one is a new monster. I've added parts from SlimRoms, ParanoidAndroid, and ChameleonOS to bring more features without affecting performance. See the changelog for more details. Enjoy folks! :victory:
Nice build. Like the ROM. 1 issue I've been having is my tablet won't enter deep sleep. Wondering if anyone else is having this issue?
great rom, i have been using it for few days now and didn't have any problems at all. Well, except the deep sleep. It says it is not used.
Build 5 is up for those who care..enjoy.
Posted a review from MobileTechVideos in the OP, check it out! :good:
Build 6 is up.
This is more of a maintenance and cleanup update. See changelog for details. Enjoy!
Curious if anyone is running it right now and if the deep sleep is working?

Deep sleep has been reported to NOT work. This is an ongoing issue I'm try to work out, but it shouldn't be impacting battery too much.
Thanks. I'll have to recharge and flash tonight.
So just flashed the rom.. stable 6, notice that this is compatible with ART but once change the run time still on dalvik.. just me .. also.. not going to touch the user interface because after doing that... random reboots occur..
Stable 7 is up!
I've successfully merged Floating Window Mode, HALO, HOVER, and PIE Controls into Exodus. :victory:
So here's the deal, if you've been flashing dirty, meaning flashing updates without wiping /data, then I highly recommend you not do that for this update. I HIGHLY recommend that you start clean for this update. See changelog and screenies for more info.
Enjoy folks! :fingers-crossed:

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....
| OmniROM | AOKP | ChaOS | Paranoidandroid | SlimROMs | Preludedrew | Team Black Out | Official Testers / Translators |
Believe it or not, we are human and we do forget things. If we have left someone out of the credit/thanks list, just PM us and we'll gladly add on to the list.

I may not always have time to check this thread. I usually stay on top of things, but real life happens. When reporting bug's, or requesting new features, the best way to make sure your heard, and a sure fire way to get things done is using our Jira site. There's always someone monitoring this, so if I'm tied up, there's a good chance that by reporting here, your issues will be resolved quickly. Remember, before you post anything, take into consideration what your issue is. Could it be a gapps issue? Are you running a different kernel than the one provided that could be causing problems? Are you running any unsupported Xposed modules? If not, use this tool to your advantage and make life easier for us all! You need to create a simple user name and password to access the site. It'll only take a few seconds, and Neither of these can be seen by us, it's just a security measure. Here's a link to the site, and it's also in the thread OP. http://jira.dirtyunicorns.com/browse/DU-60?filter=-3
Although builds on xda are weekly we do release test builds during the week exclusively on Google+ . They contain new features/bug fixes etc but as they are test builds we do not post them here.

About Us:
Dirty Unicorns is a project that started out with no name. It was a project that was first based off AOKP back in the early days of Jelly Bean. In the early days it was just a one man show on one device, the EVO 3D. Since then, many others have joined the project and it has grown exponentially.
We have seen a lot of talent contribute to this project of ours. Big or small, the focus was always on contributing to the community. That is ultimately why we do what we do. After Jelly Bean, we decided to move to a new base, OmniROM. While AOKP was fun, OmniROM proved to be even more exciting base because it challenged us to see what we could do with a project that had different goals in mind. We learned a lot and again, gain contributors. With Lollipop, we moved to an AOSP base with a lot of patches from CAF to make our older devices function as they should. We grew even more and learned a whole lot more.
It has been an awesome learning experience and is still not over! We are still learning every day and continue to move forward. Lastly, we DO NOT accept, nor ask, for donations. We don't believe in that. Everything that is necessary to keep this project going is out of our own pocket. Gerrit, Jenkins, Websites, Devices, etc. We will never ask for a dime. All we do ask, is that you have patience, search, read and try to enjoy the process with us!!

NOTE: I am working on submitting for official DU support for a few devices. As I create the corresponding Gerrit Patch Sets for this device, I'll link them here so you all can see progress. Also, I don't own a 'merlin' variant, and therefore, won't be supporting it yet. I will need to add releasetools to setup the dual codename convention. If any merlin users want to expedite support, pull request in releasetools support here.

Make sure you remove your 'overlay' folders and perform a FULL WIPE
My battery stats are all messed and reporting the wrong percentage, what can I do?
Stop using another kernel. Do a FULL WIPE and flash the ROM again
Is this ROM CM based or AOSP based?
This ROM is based off AOSP
Does this ROM have layers or the CMTE?
This ROM uses the CM theme engine
Pulse doesn't work with [insert music app]

I'm getting a FC from the theme chooser, what gives?
This is due to restoring data/apps from Google. Go ahead and clear data and cache for theme chooser and theme provider then reboot you should be good moving forward.
I changed my LCD density and now the navbar looks weird, what gives?
This is currenly an issue that we are aware of and addressing. For now after you changed density reset navbar layout or stay on the stock density.

cool.. can someone tell d battery backup? thanks
The link that you've given for V4a is only for nexus devices :/
Is this signed with the DU private key, and is the mobile network problem that was present in the final unofficial build solved in this one?
link download is broken, however entering androidfilehost looked for his profile and thought: D
thank you for work
Sent from my Moto G (3rd gen) using XDA-Developers mobile app
This ROM is still in its infancy stage, it doesnt have the unicorn kernel nor all the benefits of a real DU ROM, I suggest for all to wait a few months if you want DU as a daily driver. Only use this for testing or if you are a flashoholic.
Anthonex said:
I can assume that it works well on my device. No bugs at all. I flashed also a custom kernel and xposed and some moto g4 apps and they work well. The only "issue" that I am facing are the blinking red corners that are used for debug, but I am planning to remove them.
And for those who missed 720p videos on YouTube: in build.prop replace "ro.product.model=Moto G (3rd gen)" with "ro.product.model=MotoG3" and then reboot.
That's all for now. Cheers.

Did I say it didnt work well? I just said as we have many custom ROMs you should just wait before making this your main ROM, since this is the first build. (Lots of things mentioned in the OPs post about the ROM are actually not in it cause he took over the project and started from scratch I guess.)
@npjohnson Thank you bro. great work, I installed it today and the rom is very fast and stable, I'm happy with it you rocks
DU 10.3
Working fine as compared to previous version.:good::good:

This is a private issue and doesn't belong to the rom.
Wifi works well.

Is this signed with the DU private key, and is the mobile network problem that was present in the final unofficial build solved in this one?

Signed with my keys.
I have noticed to mobile network issues... Which one are you referring to?

This ROM is still in its infancy stage, it doesnt have the unicorn kernel nor all the benefits of a real DU ROM, I suggest for all to wait a few months if you want DU as a daily driver. Only use this for testing or if you are a flashoholic.

Okay. To clarify. This is incorrect. All Hardware works fine. It has every DU feature it can make use of, and the unicornblood kernel comment is invalid, as the 'unicornblood' kernel has no official requirements, and only is labeled as 'unicornblood' when the device maintainer decides it, and the kernel I have shipped this with shares almost the exact same feature set as the Nexus 6 unicornblood kernel. I'll relabel it unicornblood in the next build.
In other words, I strongly disagree with you on this comment. I use it as my daily driver.

Cheers.

Didn't anticipate this side effect. I'll fix it in the next build.

I did not say the ROM is bad in any way expect not to use it as a daily driver. Tho
To be fair I was grumpy as hell last time , and I was hyped so much when you released it cause i've read that the unicornblood has voltage control and other good things in it, but mostly voltage control, since I want that sooo much, yet no one offers it. I didnt have much time last time so i did everything in a hurry. Now I see that the voltage control was for 5.1.1 ... i feel ashamed and im sorry.. Im impulsive sometimes...

Hrm. Please test and let me know. You see, my G3 is a prototype with no IMEI/CID, so, I can't test RIL/Data settings, only confirm that RIL/Data work (which they do).

I can completely relate, and get it. No harm, no foul .
If voltage control was possible in 5.1.1, I can definitely take a look at it.
I'll be more apt to look into it if you can link me a kernel for another msm8916 device that has voltage control. Or, even one from a different chipset altogether.

I faced out that it's just Chromium that makes the debugging screen because it's a development build.

Huh. Regardless, I'll make it Moto G3 in the next build, as that's how stock lists it apparently. Due to the prototype nature of my device, I never had stock firmware, and my 'stock' version lists it as 'Moto G 2015' in the build properties. Moto must have opted to change it later down the road in development.
