Hello,
Is there a way to disable the back key function during a certain app? I play a lot of Heads Up Charades on my phone and people don't understand that if they hit back, it closes the app. So, my question, is there a way to disable it while that app is loaded?
Thanks guys.

Hey folks,
How do I disable Google now, just like the PAC-MAN rom does? I don't want to freeze the app with Titanium, etc., I want to disable the effect when you press and hold the home button on the nav bar, so it won't launch Google now (by pulling that ring upwards.) I hate it. I keep accidentally hitting it all the time, esp when I clean my screen on my shirt sleeve.
Thanks for any help.

I use SlimKat and in Settings/Navigation Navigation Bar/Ring Target, the Google search option is listed. If you have that, just swipe it to disable the setting.

Update: Mods, feel free to delete this thread, I've found what I was looking for -
SwipeLaunch Disabler

amazing, works perfectly!
Currently there is no function assigned to double-tapping the Recent Apps button. It would be nice for it to bring up the last active app, just like Alt-Tab in Windows.
Is there a way to achieve this?
Thanks,
Tom

I'm sure something could be created, but it would depend upon a dev. I had this function on my G3 using G3tweaksbox, but that was an xposed module.
Hello, I currently have a Google Pixel and would like to disable the Multi-Window (Split Screen) feature. I am rooted so I can edit the build.prop/other system files if needed. I have tried to find an answer on how to do this but have been unsuccessful.
Any help would be much appreciated! Thank you!
First, I am sorry I do not have an answer.
I am curious to the issue your having with the split screen.
It's not something that automatically happens. The split screen has to be engaged from the recent apps window by a long press of one of the apps and selecting the second app. It is easily undone by dragging the black bar in the middle to either the top or bottom of the screen.

The reason I am wanting to disable this feature is because I am using an "App Locker" and it is very easy to bypass the app locker by going into multi-window mode and disabling it by making small movements.
If there would be a foolproof app locker I would be willing to try that instead of this, however I have tried several and several working together at the same time but I can always bypass them by using the multi window feature.
This is the blocker I am using - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.domobile.applock&hl=en

Just installed that and tried it I don't see any options that would help me do this. Any other ideas?

Well it's actually not a perfect solution but I just disabled the "tabs" button and without you can't do split screen! Thanks!

Many Years later, I'm now facing the same problem. Did you find a way to disable multi-window?
Does anyone know how to force stop an app using the gestures controls on OOS? Is it even possible?
On some ROMs, if you are using buttons for navigation, you can always go into developer options and enable the "hold back button to kill." Doing this will Force Stop the application you're currently using. I'm not sure if OOS supports this natively, but there are also apps on the playstore that do this, however, none that I can find are for gestures.
The only other way I know how to do so is by either long pressing the app and going into the app info or getting to the app info through the system settings and force closing from there.
PS. I know you can swipe the apps from the recent apps menu but that doesn't force stop an app.
Hi,
I have a joying UIS7862, 6GB+128GB,10.1" 1920x1200 head unit .
I am trying to use a navigation bar type application. After installing this application in the accessibility settings there is a new option that must be enabled for this app to work.
After enabling this option, the application works fine, but every time unit wakes up from sleep, this setting goes back to off.
Of course if you switch it to 'on' the application works fine again.
Does anyone know how to set this option permanently?
(the same problem concerns also other navigation bar apps )

What app are you using?
Have you tried installing it as a system app?

It is 'simple control - navigation bar' . But I have tried many of them and it was the same.
How can I install it as a system app?
What application is this?
What accessibility option are you using?
Perhaps there is a way to use Tasker to enable this option on starts

This is navigation bar type application. Just back, home and recent button. I thought about tasker, but I can not get it to perform a task at system wake up. Tasker is probably killed when device goes to sleep and then automatically restored but with some delay. It works after the system wake up, but I can not find the way to make it react to waking up ....
I would start by creating a tasker task that makes the appr. system changes. Then put a tasker widget/button on your home screen for that task. From there you can work on automating it via any of the many options you might have available thru tasker (screen/wifi/bt on/off etc)
in my unit (mekede), there is an option in the settings to autostart up to 3 apps. maybe if yours has that, it would help
All of the apps I use stay in memory while the unit is asleep

Exactly, the newer Mekede/NOR MCU units do this really well.
Up to three apps can be defined.
