I got my HTC One Mini yesterday and I'm getting pretty good battery life so far, how is it for you guys?
I'm using jmz's Stock Rooted Odex WWE Rom and Jmz M4 Kernel 9-04-13. I unplugged my phone around 9 AM this morning and it's now 1:45 AM and I'm at 48%.
I installed 12 apps, torrented a 315MB file using uTorrent @ about 600 kb/s, watched 23 minutes of 720p video using MX Player with hardware decoding, watched about 15 minutes of YouTube videos, went on Facebook for about 20 minutes, browsed the internet for about 5 minutes, browsed a forum using Tapatalk for about 15 minutes, made about 5 minutes of calls, sent/received about 20 texts, read a manga chapter, used it as a flashlight for about a minute, used it as a remote for XBMC for about 2 hours, flashed a kernel, and took a couple of pictures, a 30 second 1080p video, and a Zoe to test out the Camera. All of this was over Wi-Fi.
I think I could easily get 2 days out of the battery as my typical usage would be lighter. How is the battery life for you and what Rom/Kernal are you using?
Stock UK Vodafone Rom recently updated with the it's package.
Well...I am sadly unimpressed by the battery. I've had mine now for just under a month and don't get a day.
I use it to surf the BBC website (in mobile mode) over 3g and at other tines WiFi.
I make calls about 30-60mins a day and play a version of bubble breaker.
I can literally see the power drain when surfing the web. This us the single most draining activity...much worse than when I used my desire.
I have configured all power save options, disabled all non essential apps, and ensured the phone is not burning background or unnecessary apps.
Still it goes rapidly. It's a shame but I like the phone so will live with it.
2 days...yes if all you do is make calls. Anything more demanding not a chance I'm afraid. I have tried, a lot.
So it is now 1.10pm and I have 52% and at 9 am I had 100%. No video no gaming but a mix of BBC on WiFi and 3g (i have a femtocell so no burning power while looking for a signal).
Nice phone in so many ways but battery life, in call quality and control, are very poor.
All the best,
Sam
I am planning to buy HTC one mini, Wanted to get real idea of battery life, so this was helpful. Could you laso tell me if that 1GB RAM is a problem maybe once you have 60-70 apps ? I thinking of 2 years life at least so was concerned?

For me it isn't too much of an issue, but they really should have equipped it with 2 GB of memory, 1 GB has been the standard for about 2 years. I have 42 user apps installed and most of the time I can have multiple apps open without any slow downs. Occasionally if I have multiple heavy apps running (Maps, Facebook, Pandora, Chrome ect.) it can slow down due to the lack of memory, but if I close one it speeds right back up. If you read any reviews you'll hear something along the lines of it's stupid that they only gave this phone 1GB of memory, but for most people it won't be a problem which I agree with. I'd suggest trying it out at a local store before buying it. Different people will see things differently, to some the HTC One Mini and S4 Mini will seem slow compared to the regular One and the S4, to others it will seem very fast.
ok guys please keep in mind that your mobile connection eats your power rly ****ing bad. I did a lot of tests with the mini and i'm was even able to get 5days with 25% left. Camera or wachting videos coast a lot of power as well but music is ok that does not need that much power.
Its all about your connections and how good the signal is, so if you want a longer battery life only use wifi.
The device has smaller screen size, lower resolution, half the number of cores, lower clock speed, lower powered GPU, half the RAM, no NFC or OIS. It should get *better* battery life than the full-sized one all things considered, though the smaller battery will definitely even this out somewhat. I wouldn't be surprised if under typical moderate-high usage involving CPU and screen this device should hold out similarly to the HTC One but in standby, etc it will be a bit lower.
Notebookcheck and GSMArena have done thorough battery testing, though notebookcheck doesn't test standby time and GSMArena's standby time testing method is a bit suspect.
Anandtech haven't published a review of the Mini yet but in their review of the Galaxy Note 3 you can see some battery tests they did of the HTC One Mini and it holds out pretty well considering it's not a phablet.
I bought mine two weeks ago. On the first week, my battery just last 10 hours at least and after a few days of experimentation of various settings and process monitoring, I can last 24 hours with still 20% remaining.
My daily usage can be define as quite conservative as I'm busy at work most of the day.
Here's my activities to give you an idea:
Call - at least 3 minutes a day
SMS - least 20 messages a day
browsing via HSPA / 3G - at least 1 hour a day
browsing via wifi - at least 1 hour a day
playing games - at least 30 minutes a day
reading / composing / sending emails - I set this to manual, at least 5 times a day (when I'm at home)

No matter what the phone, you tend to see battery life tests showing 8+ hours of web browsing battery life. However, real life never matches up to this expectation, with 3 or 4 hours of web browsing much more typical. This is the case with all smartphones - even a device like the Note 2 or Note 3 (albeit with higher expectations to begin with: - a Note 2/3 may tests 11+ hours web browsing but typically get 4.5+ in real-life conditions).
Unfortunately this leads many to believe that their brand new device (or its battery) is faulty. But in most cases this is not true.
I'll attempt to explain the real reason for the discrepancy.
Most importantly, the battery life tests are exclusively limited to that activity or task. For example, fully charging the smartphone, continuously web browsing for 8+ hours until the phone dies. In reality when we use our phones, the phone will be on standby, or doing other tasks, at other times. For example, 8+ hours of web browsing from a full charge is not the same as getting 8+ hours of web browsing over a 16 hour day. Those other 8 hours, even if the phone are on standby, are going to use up some of your battery, too.
The single biggest battery drain of a device is usually going to be the screen, unless you have specifically forced the screen brightness to a low (<33%) amount. At full brightness, a smartphone may burn through battery after only 3.5 hours of web browsing even if it could last 8+ hours at 40% screen brightness (the brightness control is not usually linear in terms of power draw). Review sites tend to standardise on a particular brightness level that is relatively low (the reason for this is often that allows fair comparison with devices that just can't get as bright). The bottom line is that 8+ hours of screen on time at lowish brightness might drop to half that or lower if you let auto-brightness bring up the brightness during the daylight hours or when outdoors, or if you prefer higher brightnesses.
Often, battery life tests will be done over wifi with mobile phone reception disabled entirely. This is not realistic as with a smartphone you're usually connected to a cell tower even while you're using wifi, so that voice calls and texts can still come through. Also, cellular uses a lot more energy while idle than wifi does. So even if you set the brightness really low and do nothing else with the phone, you still shouldn't be surprised that you can't get 8+ hours of web browsing if you also have the phone connected to a cell tower in the background. Some sites will conduct battery life tests over the cellular network instead of wifi, and typically these will get much lower battery life ratings (eg. 4+ hours, even with the same brightness level as for the wifi test).
Bottom line is, don't head back to the shop if you only get 3 to 4 hours screen on time during the day with web browsing. This is entirely normal for *some* usage patterns. You can improve it by:
Disable auto-brightness and set the brightness to a low-ish value, say 30%-40% of maximum. This might be able to double your screen-on time compared to full brightness.
Avoid using the phone much in direct sunlight. For the brightness to be high enough to read in direct sunlight, you'll be burning through your battery quickly, and if you've set the brightness manually to a low level as advised above, you won't be able to read it in direct sunlight.
Connect to wifi (but of course, only if you trust the wifi network to be secure and respect your privacy).
Realise that if you ever play CPU- or GPU-intensive games (most casual games shouldn't fit in this category) then a beefier battery or external battery booster may be a good investment. There's not much you can do about their battery use.
Only after considering the above should you hunt through battery usage analysers and wakelock detectors. In many cases even a misbehaving wakelock that keeps your phone partially awake all day has a low impact compared to having the screen on full brightness for just 20 or 30 minutes.

Love the phone. Only complaint that I have is the battery life. I only get about 10 hours of normal use before it dies.
I have it rooted and I have installed Juice defender and setCPU. I have no idea really how to use either of these apps though.
Can anyone please help me to install and set up the apps that I need to get the best power/battery life ratio for this phone?
Thanks.
A really helpful tip is to use black backgrounds. This reduces the amount of pixels on the screen requiring power on the Super AMOLED display, and will improve battery life significantly. Tower reception is also a big one, just turn off mobile data when you get to a low signal area.
I suggest turning down the brightness to the lowest indoors and then bringing it up a little outdoors. 10 hours is really good compared to the 4 hours I got on my old 4g.
Sent from my SGH-T959V using XDA App
I second the black background.
I also installed widgetoid, created a widget with a shortcut to the mobile network settings.
I have Network Mode set to GSM only (Edge Network) throughout the day. This is fine to keep my email syncing and for phone calls. If I know I'm going to start browsing the internet/ streaming music/ etc then I go and set the network mode to Auto to allow 4G connections.
With a few phone calls and a little bit of internet usage I still had about 60% battery life left after 12 hours off the charger.
juice defender works wonders. Set profile to extreme. Choose carefully and let app do this rest. It auto shuts off data when not using 4 apps. I have been off charge 9:40 mitutes with 79% battery remaining. I've been on the market made a few phone calls, browsed the internet and getting and receiving text + emails coming in. Have settings GSM only until I need 4G speed. I don't need a charger because I get through the day easily.
Thanks
I just wanted to say thanks everyone for the tips! I know more is coming from other users but i'm new to android i switched from Windows Mobile 6.5 and android is better so far or atleast for the week i have had this device. i was getting upset with the battery life and always taking my charger with me(i never had to do that with my custom Rhodium. the black backround idea does work very well. I have also found if you set your backlight timeout to 1 min it helps a lot.

you call 10 hrs a problem??
I can tether my Xoom for 2 hrs and listine to pandora over bluetooth for another 3 before it dies... my last phone could berly stand 45mins of pandora over bluetooth before crapping out
Always hated the idea of black backgrounds on beautiful 800x480 screens. Anyhows I had the very same quick battery death too and fixed it. One get Juice Defender, very worth while, second run device in portrait mode [I was an old n900 user so I had it in landscape mode, it did not like staying in that mode]. If things get really bad turn off the WiFi when not in use and change the autosync features to off or disabled. ALOT of power is comsumed by adware communicating with various entities while your away from the device. Genuinely suprused by the sheer amount of adware on the device, nearly ever "free" app is adware [meaning you pay with your usage pattern's etc]. YMV but that all I had to do to get the battery under control.
Im a moderate user and my battery is still going strong

Yep, I'm more than happy getting 10-12 hours of at-office use with WiFi on constantly (including M$ push and personal email) and a moderate amount of browsing during the day. I keep the brightness at "0" as much as possible.
Beats the pants off my N900 which would die in under 4 hours under the same at-office usage patterns.
OEM battery and charger is ~$25 or a Zagg Sparq2 (4 Ah, I believe) for watching hours of video and Angry Birds on those trans-Pacific flights.
You are doing something wrong guys. . .
I'm on a Vibrant /w Froyo 2.2.1 and a 1500mah battery that is now 7 months old.
Battery left says total battery life per charge is 23 hours, 15 minutes.
Now mind you I am a relatively moderately/heavy user. I have 5 homescreens with 15 widgets total on them that refresh every 2 hours, and an intensive live wallpaper.
I use the phone a lot for reading RSS feeds, facebook, texting, and LOTS of music. Total screen-on-time per battery charge is around 3-4 hours with Automatic brightness.
Obviously you have something going on with your phones if you are only getting 10 hours. My phone is also overclocked to 1.4Ghz with overvoltages and I STILL get this good a battery life with all my usage...on an old battery mind you.
Check for rogue apps?
PS: I have Wi-Fi on 100% of the time but NEVER use 3G/HSPA for data since I don't use a data plan. The Wi-Fi is connected 90% of the time the phone is on though since I am always at places with Wi-Fi.
Ive searched around and this seems to be a common issue, I tried the factory reset even the htc battery conditioning where you charge fully turn off then another hour back on for 2min off again and charge for another hour with no positive results, I read online some ppl are getting -1/-2 mah an hour I have never seen single digit in my phone.
I included screenshots of my battery drain even adjusted the app to read 1500mah, anything else i missed in settings? Also went into phone information in the Tests menu set it to auto instead of GSM, also with SetCPU I tried underclocking with little change to mah usage, running out of ideas...
Currently its rooted with GingerBreak, and CM7 with #48 nightly installed, any help would definitely be appreciated.
How many hours is your phone lasting on a single charge?
Lately between 5-7hrs one had about 8 and half hours a handful of times
it's true that if you constantly use the phone nonstop like watching youtube, browsing, playing games, etc. the battery won't last longer than 4 hours without getting an extended battery, heck just using moderateley the battery will be about 50% by the end of an 8 hour workshift, but what I found that will extend the battery life with moderate use are these...
1. Turn of wifi, bluetooth, gps, sync. (contrary to what ppl say on this forum I find that wifi eats way more battery than being on 4G)
2 Disable background data. (The only thing I actually need background data checked is to use the android market or maps when I need to, with it off it's a huge battery saver)
3 In settings choose to use only 2G (This will increase battery life 4x and Tmobile 2G is pretty fast, just like 3G)
4 Download Opera Mini (Since you'll be using 2G to save battery you'll want to surf the web with a browser that is super fast using slow connections, and Opera mini is second to none. You can always turn on 4G when you want to have fast video streaming but then you eat alot of battery again.)
5. Install Auto Airplane Mode (you can turn auto airplane mode on when you're not gonna be expecting calls such as at work or when you don't want to be disturbed, hell, if you just want to save as much battery as possible. Since Auto airplane mode disables the radio and data completey which is the number 1 cause of battery bleed with it on from a full charge unplugged you'll still have a 100% when you wake up your phone after a day.)
6 Install juice defender (free is fine)
7 Don't use Lookout Antivirus (I've found Lookout drains the battery quick, if you want an antivirus that doesn't eat the battery try AVG. I prefer AVG because I notice it does not drain my battery like Lookout.)
This has made my phone last more than a day on stock battery with moderate to light use. If I think of more tweaks I'll add later
This is ridiculous. If you have to turn off all those features, then don't even bother getting a smartphone.
My tips are:
1- Set brightness to auto.
2- Avoid Skype and other apps that usually appear as On going on the status bar.
3- Get rid of any task killer. They actually make the battery life worse. Don't worry about tasks running in the background, the OS takes care of them. If you wanna quit an app, try to look for a quit button by pressing the settings button when the app is on the foreground. Otherwise, just press the back button below the screen until you get back to the home screen (for some reason this seems more efficient than just pressing the home button.)
4- If you don't use IMs, get juice defender and set it to disable data when screen is off. It will turn data automatically on once you turn the screen on by pressing the lock button on the top of your device. Note that this is different compared to auto airplane mode, with Juice Defender you can still receive phone calls and text messages when the screen is off.
Last but not least, consider purchasing an extra battery and/or car charger.
Mine usually lasts for about 12 hours with moderate to high use. Almost all smartphones have short battery life if used heavily.

Yea that's awful. Do you by chance have your brightness set extremely high? And how is the cell coverage where you usually use your phone?
I think all of the advice above is valid and will save your battery. The question is to what extreme do you want to go? I tend to agree with donatello88 that there comes a point when you get so paranoid about battery life that you may as well not have a smartphone because you've turned off most of its features.
Get rid of any task killers, battery monitors, etc. They are simply churning thru clock cycles and that uses more battery. Set email, Facebook, etc to check for updates less frequently. Either use auto brightness or manually set your brightness to about 25-30%. That should b bright enough for everyday use unless your in bright sunlight a lot. Use juice defender if you like. And be wary of antivirus apps. I've heard some can suck ur battery dry.
If you do those simple things and are still getting only 5-6 hours then I'd be taking it back to T-Mobile ... unless of course you're on your phone without ceasing. In that case, what can you expect? Lol
Ok with the tips I just mentioned above, I got a chance to put it to real world test. I caught the bus to my son's grad ceremony and reached there at 4pm ceremony didn't start till 6pm so those 2 hours just surfing the web reading articles and forums I was down to 90% battery. Didn't know how long the ceremony was gonna be so called my sister on video chat using tango and spoke to her for about 20 minutes. Did some more browsing using opera mini set to only use 2g for another 2 hours, my don came out, I took some pics and video of him turned on 4g to video chat again with my duster for about 5 minutes, and after 4 non stop hours of consecutive use with screen on, I'm now at 71% battery life. I'm at the bus stop now on my 12 mile commute home and I'm confident the battery will give me more entertainment until I get home. Awesome! You don't have to believe me, just try out my tweaks and you'll be amazed.
Everyone thanks for all of the help and tips, today was the first day I saw 10hrs+(included screenshots), I had my screen on auto and after some reading saw that with CM7 it doesnt work well so I have changed it down to 20-40% depending on where I am, turned off background/auto sync only turn it on when I need it and uninstalled the app killer I was using also changed a few of the SetCPU profiles.
Im not really a heavy user just wondering if having 3email accounts set to update every hour would be a battery drain too? I mostly text/email during the day and talk about 1-2hrs depending how busy I am at work.
Again I thank everyone for pointing me in the right direction...unfortunately at home I have 1bar to none for service so I do depend on Wifi calling which im sure drains more juice, also at work since it in a high rise not too much cell signal so wifi on most of the day...

Hello risho,
I was having the same kind of battery life... After 3 months of research, I collected all valuable tips.
"Valuable tips" means: tips that do not need constant involvement from your side (you don't need to go switch on/off things, etc..) and also that leave you with a very functional phone (you have location when you need it, you have e-mails flowing regularly enough, etc...)!
With these tips, I am now lasting from 6am to 11pm and at 11pm, remaining battery is 10% at least!
Go and check my thread: [Ultimate GUIDE] Increase your battery life on Android!
Enjoy!
So I've been tinkering with my phone for about 5 months now, searching forum after forum in hopes of getting some decent battery life out of my Evita. The best I'm ever able to get having mobile data and WiFi on throughout the day is about 9 hours. That's with light to moderate use (an hour of streaming music, 2-3 hours of screen time, only mail and calendar sync for Google, 0-20% screen brightness, no games, and being around WiFi for about 70% of the time). That benchmark was reached with CM 10.2, boosted kernel, sweep to wake enabled, and GPS on for about 1.5 hours. I can get about 16 hours if I disable all sync, underclock the kernel, disable all internet connections except when I use them (about 2 hours of the 16 on a normal day of checking email, reading news, syncing accounts and such. No heavy stuff such as streaming video etc.), and disabled GPS. However, I figure what's the point of having a smartphone with data connectivity if being connected means I can't even make it through a very light use work day? I've had my phone replaced once by AT&T because 8 hours was the best life I could get on stock period. That was with data and WiFi off (about 3 hours with internet on). I considered buying an external battery case to get a more normal battery life but can't justify dropping $100 bucks when that's what I paid for the phone with a contract in the first place.
Anyway, is this battery life normal? And if not, is there anything I can do to increase my battery life and maintain mobile data connectivity/WiFi? I would also love to be able to keep my GPS on as it's frustrating to wait 5 minutes for my GPS to find my location so I can find my way around. Whenever I need to use my maps. Anyway, it doesn't seem like this is a normal smartphone experience I'm having but I could be entirely wrong.
Thanks in advance.
The battery life you're experiencing looks fairly normal to me for the usage you describe. Sync kills battery, mobile data kills battery, GPS kills battery. All in all, HTC did put an underpowered battery in this device, which certainly doesn't help but there are steps you can take to combat this problem.
You say you want to leave the GPS on because you don't like waiting for it to connect, but if you do that the thing is going to try to connect constantly, even when indoors, which will drain your battery massively. My GPS connects in seconds, try using an app called Faster GPS.
Leaving mobile data switched on has the same result, why not switch it off when it isn't in use? You can use a quick settings tile to easily switch on and off as required and it will save a heap of battery.
Think about it like this, you don't leave the car running when it's in your garage, you don't leave all your lights on when you're not home, you don't keep the clothes dryer going when there are no clothes in it. Why? Because it's a waste to have all those things operating when not actually in use.
Use an app called Greenify to hibernate apps when they're not in use, you'd be surprised at how often apps run in the background when you're not even using them.
These are just some practices you can adopt to get better life our of your battery. I think people have pretty unrealistic expectations of how long a smartphone battery should last, considering all the things we ask to get out of them at the same time.

Hey Timaa, always appreciate your input. I'll try working in those ideas and see what battery life I get. Also, I believe I found a fix. I installed the 4.4.2 version of beanstalk and enabled the conservative governor and I'm pulling between 15 and 20 hours with Wi-Fi, mobile data, and GPS all enabled all day. The 13 hour cycle is on the moderate use side (2-3 hours of audio streaming, 4-5 hours of screen time, a couple games, internet browsing, Google Now enabled) and I have the pocket wake feature on. But an average day for me gets about 17 hours. More than enough to get me through my day. I've never even approached this kind of battery life with this device and I must say, I'm blown away! My battery now easily performs my old iPhone 4 which is really saying something. Couldn't be happier.

Once in a while, when your significant other yells at you, you might use your phone a bit less. Rate this thread to express how the Huawei Nexus 6P's battery performs under light use. A higher rating indicates that the device goes a long time when you're using the phone sparingly: no gaming or video/audio streaming, light web browsing, some calling and texts, etc.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Lasts two days with light use.
I'm disappointed from the battery. Of course I knew it but when you have it in your own hands it's twice a disappointment. I use it for an hour of talk time, two hours of browsing, and a few other tasks mainly file management. I have both wifi and data open with 5 push emails. Notifications from other apps are disabled. Only emails, sms, viber, whatsapp and FB messenger are allowed.
I have less than 40% battery at the end of the day when on my previous Note 4 I could have easily 60% or more. I am terrified to start gaming and music listening through my Sony SBH-52 BT headset.

Yes something's wrong on your end. And I remember using both the note 4/5 and you can see the battery melt in front of your eyes. With light use I get easily a day and some. I've never run out of battery with the n6p
Battery is pretty better than note 4. I have been using note and I can post both devices screenshot about battery backup and sot

Not sure that is what I'd call light use, but have you looked at the threads in the other forums here addressing some of the known bad apps, etc? Lots of good advice here on how to make the battery last a lot longer on the 6P. Since they fixed the Naptime app a few days ago for a bug it had with MM, I've finished the last two days over 90%. Few phone calls, few texts, a few web searches. I'm rooted, running the Kylo kernel, greenify'd a few apps. Stock ROM.
With light use I have gone 3 days without charging. Just turn off "Ambient Display" and other automatic screen on options like that.
Doze is amazing. It takes a while to turn on without root or Greenify but light use can make the battery last at least a day if not a day and a half and that is awesome!

not much, but yes
I've had a 6P for about a 5 days now.
I just installed Nougat and can report that Doze really is vastly improved vs. MM. With very light use yesterday while on a five hour drive I was seeing values like 3% per hour while streaming BT audio (no nav, screen off, controlling playback via steering wheel-mounted controls). Going up I didn't use the phone except for checking the weather and saw something like 1.5% per hour.
So far this morning at work, where I usually hardly use the phone at all, I'm seeing something like 1.9% per hour just occasionally turning on the screen to check for texts/e-mails (SoT so far, 4 hours into my day is about 45 minutes). The best my Note 5 EVER did, impersonating a brick on my desk, was maybe 3.5% per hour. At the end of the day, with about 2 1/2 to 3 hours of SoT it would usually have 10%-15% left, so I would say the endurance of the 6P is astounding.
I am concerned however about the dramatic effect using the camera has on this. I spent about 15 minutes playing with the camera last night before and 15 minutes after installing Nougat and noted a huge amount heat being generated with the resultant power consumption of over 15% in just those few minutes. I get that the processor is working hard on processing but this is one area the Note 5 is better. While the 6P is so much more efficient overall than the Note 5 (running MM), I use the camera a lot while traveling and occasionally for work, and I'm worried that it will so dramatically reduce it's endurance that it'll die on me halfway through the day. I'm going to Singapore for a week next for a week and so far I don't think the 6P will be the phone I take only for this reason. I was hoping that with Nougat Google would have improved the efficiency of the camera app/photo processing but that doesn't seem to be the case.
I would go so far as to say this may drive me to return it.
After few days of light use I can finally share more details. Phone lasts 1 day and 20 hours with the light use. Phone used for 1h05m, screen 1h16m, 44h active phone (where first 8 hours were in very low signal area) with 13h wake time. I have three push accounts active, BT always on, Wifi as never when screen off. I have reached same results on my S7 Edge so it is not that bad as I suspected. Whats is very positively supposing is that while reading battery drops 1% per 9 minutes - not bad, and 1% per 10 minutes while using Spotify over BT headset.
Yeah I think about 1.5 days average.
I'm interested in the battery difference between iphone 13 pro max and s22 ultra. I now take out with s22 ultra 5-6 hours of screen on time max but in fhd +. If I play pubg, it takes 3 and a half hours without stopping. Is the battery difference so big for the heavy user? Can someone give me some screen statistics on time in heavy use, in games but also in normal use youtube, instagram, fb ... I'm thinking of returning s22 ultra and taking 13 pro max because I'm not very satisfied with the battery s22 ultra. But if the difference is 1 hour then it's not worth the exchange ... I am very dissapointed. I paid $ 1500 for a phone and charged it 2x a day. I do not agree to compromise at 1500% I want to receive what I paid. 120hz -wqhd ... I barely have 5-6 hours screen on time with all apps in deep sleep, 30-40 brightness, fullhd +, location off, 5g off .. Is there any solution ?? this is the exynos variant. Except for the battery, the phone is superb.
I get 14-16 h of total battery life with 3-4 h screen on time, not a heavy use, just some light web browsing, mostly Google Now feed, as well as 2h of Spotify over Bluetooth

I get similar results using the exynos variant. My phone uses 20-25% battery per hour for things like social media (Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat) and browsing/YouTube (FHD+ 120fps). I've seen people getting more than 6 hours screen-on-time with S22 Ultra, but I don't understand how they achieve it. The phone is great, but I am pretty disappointed by the battery life.

Thanks for the confirmation. For me, it looks power consumption optimization issues, either hardware, software, or both. Let's hope that software optimization helps in the future

The thing is that I've been using an S21 Ultra until last month (for the last 5 months). Its battery life was similar with the S22 Ultra I am using now, but slightly worse. I was intrigued by such poor battery life and I brought it to the Samsung Service (device was under warranty). After 2-3 days of service time, they fully refunded my S21 Ultra and I upgraded to the S22 Ultra. I really don't know what to think now, if this battery usage on my S22 Ultra is normal or if there are any problems with it....I can get with it through one day, but, again, I am intrigued that others are getting much better battery life results than me (about 10-15% per hour of screen-on-time).
I think most people on here are getting better battery life due to app usage, debloating, deep sleeping apps and dark mode with amoled wallpapers. I also believe that the device care doesn't give accurate screen on time. Sometimes i would use my device for 10min and when i check screen on time it doesn't refresh immediately.
We have to remember that this panel is brighter and a lot more vivid that what we've had before.
My suggestion if you're not into doing a device reset. Uninstall and then reinstall your apps.
I did this with Facebook and i have seen an improvement. Also i keep seeing apps that are recommended for sleep due to high battery usage and you wont believe some of the apps.
Guys, just monitor and keep all your apps up to date.

Going through your apps and weeding out those that burn through your battery is very important. As an example, I was using Google News app perusing some articles for about 30-40 minutes. Since I use DuckDuckGo with app tracking I later found that during that 1 session the Google News app sent 1401 tracking messages behind the scene. Lots of apps do these types of things and more, especially social media apps.
