Hi All
as the title states i have noticed this in the past few weeks, but for some reason my Tablet doesn't seem to charge past the 77% mark. my dock charges as normal to 100% and the tablet charges to 77% and everything just stops.
i have been using CROMi-X for a while now and i am running the latest version, i have left the tablet charging all night but still nothing happens and just stops at 77%
i have been using the tablet on its own for a while now to get the most out of the battery life etc. and only plug the dock in to charge the tablet.
im pretty much stumped at the moment and cant find anything online about it and cant figure out if its a tablet issue or a ROM issue...
thanks in advance
Cheers
Sorry to hear it. Have a look at my thread when I had a similar issue;

You may get lucky and find charging it up with it off, or leaving it off not on charge for 24 hours sorts it out. If you're unlucky, like me, the battery will just die shortly and won't charge or turn on at all. Hope you get it sorted.
thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
definitely give it a go and see what happens... hope its not dying on me, have had it for just over a year and have had no issues so far!

well finally got the tablet to power down completely after the battery died and have left off since last night so ill be charging over night tonight and see how it goes...
fingers crossed...

left overnight to charge and its back to 100%... thought my tablet was on its way out.
thanks for the input @Gudders much appreciated and as usual to @sbdags your procedure worked for me. tabelt back to 100%
Thanks guys!

Hey guys,
I'm reading through the dock threads and I see a lot of issues with the battery, but I didn't see anyone with the same problem as me. Maybe it's not a problem, but I figured I'd put it out there just to make sure.
Sometimes my dock will read at 0% battery, then suddenly spike up to the proper battery percentage. It usually happens after it's asleep, then wakes up. Last night I had charged the dock to 100%, then unplugged and plugged into the tablet a short while later. It was reporting 0% and had a flashing orange light. I then charged it today and it held the charge, but still doing the strange 0% to "real" percent thing.
I have both a B60 dock and B60 tablet and I am using Prime 1.7 ROM.
Has anyone heard of this? Is my dock bad? I can still RMA it as it's brand new.
Thanks!
I did a test last night by fully charging the keyboard then plugging it into my tab at 17% battery. When I woke up, the dock had 3% and the tab had 76%. This seems pretty on par with what I'd expect. I just don't want to charge the tab and have it not hold a charge at all.
How do you even know how much your dock is charged?
I use a couple of the dual battery widgets (still haven't decided on one). I sent my dock in for repair on the drainage issue a couple weeks ago. Since getting it back I have noticed that when I wake the tablet up, it can take a long time (Sometimes up to ~5-10 minutes for the dock battery to show the correct voltage). I had upgraded to 3.2 while the dock was out for repair, so don't know if its something with the new dock hardware, or a 3.2 issue.
The other day had the dock reading 0 and even after an hour of use, never did show it had a charge. Thought I was screwed because I had read several threads that said if you ran the dock down to 0, they couldn't ever get it to charge again. Plugged it in overnight and let it set, fired it up the next morning and both were at 95+%.

Would also like to know - is there a setting on the transformer that allows me to view the docks battery status?
Thanks

When you click the notification bar, it says "Docking Connected" and then the dock battery percentage to the right. I'm assuming that is the dock battery percentage... I'm not sure if it's part of the rom, but I think I remember it being there when I was stock.

Thanks for chiming in. I'm thinking this might just be a software issue and not a dock issue then. I'll see how things go over the next few weeks.
Hey guys...yes this is my first post. I've been searching for about 12 hours and reached my wit's end so I ask for your help
I've got an S2 Skyrocket running unrooted 4.0.4. It's run fine for almost a month with no problem other than terrible battery life.
Starting yesterday, with 2 different batteries and 3 different chargers, i get an error telling me "Charging paused. Battery temperature too hot". Its not even warm and it will not charge. Now both of my batteries are dead and I cant get the device to even go into download mode or anything.
I had a 100% charge on the phone yesterday and turned it off. When i turned it back on (or tried to) it was totally dead.
i'm on the verge of smashing this thing into the ground. Please help!
Charge the battery on external. Then Odin stock

Thank you so much for the quick reply. Almost rhetorically I'm assuming there's no way to externally charge the battery without an external charger. Correct?

I would ignore it, except that my phone doesn't charge. And it pops up every 60 seconds or so if I click ok and try to get out of it.
**Update - I've borrowed a battery from a friend with a Nexus. Device powers up, was able to revert back to stock 2.3.5 but still same issue with all 3 batteries and different chargers...Charging paused due to battery being to hot or too cold. Trading in for a new Skyrocket at ATT service center tonight under warranty....
I have a locked & unrooted WW TF700 & genuine dock on JB 4.2.1.
A week ago I started to notice an issue where the tab would constantly drain whilst it should have been asleep. Overnight it would loose ~30% instead of ~2%. I tried a few settings, but couldn't seem to solve it. I decided to do a factory reset because I haven't done one since I last upgraded to jelly bean. That appears to have cured that problem, but has created two more.
The first problem is that I can't seem to charge the tab over 81% when being charged directly. If I then plug it into a fully charged dock it will charge to 90% but no more, even with the charging cable in the dock.
The second problem is that the tab now decides to shut off at about 30% battery left. It won't shutdown as normal, just go blank and won't boot up again without being charged a little first. I have read threads about artificially overcharging the tab, but a symptom of that is the battery level will remain at 100% for hours before starting to drain normally. My tab won't charge to 100% and will start to drain immediately after removing the charging cable. Regardless I have tried to drain and recharge overnight with the tab both off and on but the tab won't charge past 76% overnight in either case. Restarting multiple times doesn't help at all.
For the first issue I started to suspect the charger may be at fault. This is because if I charge the tab directly, it will never get past 81%. However, if I then plug it into the freshly charged dock it will charge upto 90%. I understand that the dock will never charge the tab past 90%, unless it is plugged into the charger. Does it assume in my case that it isn't plugged in to a charger even when it is? I should mention I am using the original asus charger. Frustratingly I can't just use my phone charger to see if it solves the problem due to the 15v of the asus charger. I have noticed a slight hum/buzz coming from the charger but I can't be sure that it didn't do that before. I have had issues with the internal connections not be pushed together quite right before and getting no charge out of it, but 'clicking it together' a bit more firmly did the trick there.
Even with an overnight charge, plugged into the dock to get it to 90% I now get terrible battery life. Roughly 30mins per 10% juice. Previously I was getting around an hour per 10%.
Does anyone have an suggestions for me on how to eliminate the charger as a problem, or say doing another factory reset on a 'full charge'? The only other thing I can think of is to let it drain, give it enough charger to turn back on, then turn it off and leave it unplugged overnight (I saw it mentioned in another thread). I really appreciate any help you can give before I have to try the dreaded warranty route!
Try this with it undocked. Let the battery discharge to zero, and leave it 24 hours.
Then recharge it fully. This seems to cure the battery calibration memory issues.most us know how you get on.
Luckily I have located an Asus charger to borrow and hopefully find out if it is just my charger or not.
I also tried out CPU-Z and the battery is reporting as only having 7mV. I'm sure that can't be correct as my HOX+ is around 3500mV, and 7mV just couldn't power anything. I don't know if this is just CPU-Z issue with reporting correctly, or a clue that there is something not right with my battery? Has anyone else tried CPU-Z or know what the mV should be roughly, fully charged say?
Unfortunately a different charger didn't solve my issue :'(
I've posted a screenshot to show what is happening. I'll try draining the battery flat and leaving 24 hours to see what happens then. Luckily I still have two months left on warranty.
Pretty annoying because everything else the tablet does is fantastic. I replaced my laptop with it and use it daily for everything.

Unfortunately things have become worse. I tried using the tab until it died (at around 50% battery this time...) and left for 24 hours as suggested. Unfortunately now I can't get the tab to turn on or take a charge at all. I have tried holding power button down, with vol up/down, for over a minute etc. Tried the reset button all numerous times with no luck. All I get is the LED blink twice when pressing the power button and this only happens when the charger is connected, otherwise nothing.
I have the phone number for Asus support and will be giving them a call tomorrow. I'm so glad I never unlocked my device!

Leave it for 24 hours not on charge first then try again. We've seen this happen so many times - the fix is to let it discharge completely.

Thanks Sbdags, I appreciate your response. I've read numerous threads tonight with similar issues. I did try leaving the tab for 24 hours completely dead overnight last night. I'll try it again (I don't know if the battery is dead or not currently) but I'll leave it unplugged as there is nothing else for me to do with it anyway!
OK, I thought I would complete this thread.
After leaving my tablet for a few more days not on charge I could seem to get no life out of it whatsoever so went down the RMA route and the result of that is in the following thread;

Not sure if this is related to 4.4 or the nexus 5 specifically (pretty sure its the hardware). While using the phone during charging it doesn't charge fast enough to keep powered on. My wife was on facebook when hers went down, and I was playing knights of pen and paper when mine went down. The phone will eventually just power off and flash the red led 8 times. The only way to power it back on is to load the bootloader first (vol up + vol down + power) then press the power on start. I tested this on 2 black 32GB Nexus 5s with android 4.4.
This is really easy to test, next time your device is low keep using it after plugging it in. It will eventually just "go dark" and you'll be greeted by the flashing red led.
Here is a link to the google group product forum thread I created, please post feedback. This needs to get fixed, hopefully just an update can resolve it.

Yikes. This isn't good. The only time the phone may not be able to keep up with charge is when using GPS. If this is a widespread issue I'm sure it will be fixed. Unless you have a bad battery or charger! I will test..
Update:
Just played game Aurolux whilst charging for 10 minutes and phone gained 5%.
Sounds like you got two lemons

I tested it on both mine and my wifes phones, different chargers as well. Also the load on the devices was low, both were on wifi, she was using the facebook app, I was playing knights of pen and paper, both on auto brightness (in our living room, lights off). Same thing happened on both, screen just cuts out, red light starts flashing.
Hopefully it gets fixed, if more people will test it and post feedback here or at googles forum it would be great.

Same here. Zero issues playing games and phone charges.
Are you using a custom ROM or kernel? That could explain it. Otherwise you either have two did chargers, or 2 did batteries, or a combination of both.
Sorry.....

I guess I could try to charge when it's below 10%, but maybe easier is if you try charging whilst using your phone above say 20%. If you still have the issue then I think it's device related, if not report back.

I'm gonna give that a shot tomorrow. Its getting late and need to get up for work in a couple hours. Thanks for testing, makes me wonder though if it is my phones, or if its and issue with a low battery and charging/using.....maybe something related to the reason why you cant do an update until your battery is at 20% despite being connected to a charger.

They seem to charge just fine when left alone. It just seems too coincidental that both phones would have the exact same power issue.

dont forget, the snapdragon has 'quick charge 2.0', you shouldn't be seeing that kind of charging issues. i mean, if it's something you're ok living with. but that sounds like a big indicator that the battery or charging module is faulty/will go bad soon

No I'm already getting mine replaced for dead pixels but to have 2 phones experience the same issue like this is weird. Need more people to test the phones under 10%, I know they charge fast but there could be a reason why behind this like I listed above.
The only thing I notice is the charger does get quite warm when charging, but it's very fast.
It does sound too coincidental, but not impossible.

could it possibly be the cable, or the charger unit, or even the wall socket? these are all things that should be tested
I just wanted to say that I had the same issue as you and the problem so far seems to happen when you let the battery get pretty low before plugging it in.
The battery was down to about 8% when I plugged the phone in last night (to the lg charger). I actually left mine alone for about 30 minutes and when I came back, it was at 6%. I did verify that the display said "Charging" when the cable was plugged in. I unplugged the phone, and plugged it back in and started browsing the web on wifi and within another 15 minutes the battery had gone down to 2%. I turned off the screen and left it alone and when I checked it again, it was at 1%. At that point, I was worried about the phone, so I urned off the phone completely. When I turned it back on, it did look like it was charging again, but very slowly. At this point, I tried plugging it into another charger that I had, and it charged up fairly quickly.
Definitely pretty frustrating as I've never had something like this happen unless you have the usb cable plugged into a computer.
Last night I went to plug my phone into the lg charger...I could hear the charger buzzing slightly....I plugged in the phone and thought nothing of it really... Looked at my phone on the way to work and it wasn't charged past 28%.... plugged it into another charger at my desk and its at 47% in a matter of minutes...
I know op said he tried different chargers, but just tossing in my lousy 2c

The only chargers I tried were the ones that came with the phones. I got a bunch of others so Im going to give them a shot as well and see how this fairs.
Ok so Im sitting here trying to recreate the issue and it is different. I brought the battery down to 4% plugged it in and kept playing kop&p and the battery hasnt gone down, it actually went up to 7% but its holding there. I am letting it get to 10% now before I pick it up and try again. I swapped out between the n5 charger and my n4 charger both held it at 7% while playing.
Maybe this just has to do with battery conditioning, or maybe the snapdragon quickcharge ic.
Just checked the phone, from the time I started writing this till now (maybe 2 minutes) its up to 10% so back at it I go.
The charger that comes with the phone is horrible. Its the same type as the n4 which dies after 2 months. Don't use it, just use another one and you'll be just fine.

From past 1 month I'm having a hard time with my 1+1, I started experience heavy battery drain during stand by around 35-45% over night (aprox7-8hrs) I thought the battery has come to end of its life so I ordered a new battery for 1+1 and replaced it myself. But guess what I'm still facing the same issue overnight the battery drains 35-45% even when the phone is completely turned off. What's happening I don't really understand. I also tried charging the battery to 100% and removed it from 1+1 and left it for a day and when I popped it back in it was holding the battery very well it was 99%. It is only draining when I connect it to the phone the battery starts draining again. Is there anybody who can help me with this issue.? I really like this phone that I don't want to buy any other phone right now.

Ya but I cant I purchased it last year around June even before it was launched in my Country. So have to try to fix it myself
Hey hello..
I pity you.. Btw even I have similar problem.. I know how it feels.. The battery used to last 2 days easily and now merely pulls a day.. Same 35% battery drop even when I have it switched off.. I have tried almost all ROM's in vain.. Only thing I can tel you is, try charging the phone overnight and discharge completely before charging it again.. repeat this for 3 to 4 times.. This trick worked out of nowhere for me.. But again now after 10 days, it has gone to the state of not holding juice longer.. I am at a loss to understand what is wrong..
PS.. Do lemme know if you find a way out of this..
