This App is an alternative to the standard google pattern lock. It lets you choose a picture, where you can define your own pattern on. Once you turn your phone on again, the picture (& your pattern ) is being transformed (possible transformations are, e.g, zoom or rotation) and you have to enter your transformed pattern to unlock your phone.
Sounds interesting? Search for SmearSafe on Google Play or use this link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.steimlfk.smearsafe
Some technical info: I've implemented the app as an "overlay" for Android's pin input mask. So when you start the app for the first time, you have to define a pin, which is used by the app to lock the phone. When you turn your screen on again, the lockscreen (showing your chosen picture) shows up and you can enter your pattern. If you have problems "solving" the lockscreen, you can simply press the home button and enter your defined pin to unlock the phone.
On some phones the pin input "pops up" sometimes....this is a known issue and i'm working on it
Have Fun!
KitKat?
Hi! I love your app and the idea! Unfortunately it's stopped working after upgrading to KitKat for me. Any hints?
Update!
Solution:
Ha! While writing I had the solution: unregister and the register the app again as administrative access app. Now it works again!

Hello. I need some help from anyone. I forgot the pattern to unlock my android tablet. Can anyone help with sugstions on what I can do without flashing the tab. Thanks
@oduhabeeb,
Please try this methid to unlock your tablet.
1. When you try different patterns and unable to unlock your phone in five attempts. Then a message pop-up and shows two buttons “next” and “try again”.
2. Now click on “next” button and you see two options for unlocking phone. One is answer the security question and the second option is to
provide Google account details.
3. Mostly people don’t set a security question. But if you set it then simply answer the question and unlock your device quickly. Otherwise check the Google account option and click “next”.
4. Now provide your Google account username and password attached with your device and click on “sign in”.
5. After that you are directed to choose new pattern and now you can unlock with this pattern.
Be sure to hit

I'll try that and see how it goes
The layman's way is to the look at the smudges on your screen for a clue as to what your password was.
Temporarily disable your screen lock
This app allows you to disable your Swipe or Pattern screen lock for a certain time. Useful if you don't want to bother with locking and unlocking your phone all the time.
This app will not work with PIN and Password screen locks for security reasons.
If you are curious why I made this app: when I'm working out I like to log my sets and weights. The phone constantly locks itself which gets pretty annoying so now I can just disable the lock for an hour. Not sure if this is useful for someone else...
Feature suggestions welcome!

Dear All,
Yesterday, I have published a new app called Third Eye which is an extension for your mobile’s default lock screen. How many times you worried whether your girlfriend, colleagues or family members tried to access your mobile or not? This app will put an end to that worries.
Once you installed the Third Eye app and turned on Intruder Detection feature in the app, the app will take a photo using your mobile’s front camera whenever someone enters a wrong PIN, Pattern or Password in your mobile’s lock screen and notify you using a notification while you unlock the mobile. Using this app, you can easily catch all the mobile snoopers around you red handed. It has few more good features too.
Features :
1. Notify about the wrong attempts in the mobile lock screen.
2. Last Unlock Time message will be shown on every time you unlock the mobile. So, you can verify the unauthorised mobile accesses.
3. Detailed photo logs view of the mobile snooper photos
I am planning to update the app with lot more cool features in the upcoming days.

Hi all,
On my Smartisan I use for log in a pattern, fingerprint and face recognition.
After last night, the pattern recognition is not recognized anymore. I found no reason. So I can only use my fingerprint and face unlock to open it.
The problem: when I would reboot the device, the only possibility to log in after a reboot is via the pattern. So I'm afraid what happens when the device reboots for some reason.
I found no way to change or reset the pattern as the phone only accepts the pattern to enter the "unlock and security" section. There is no "forget pattern" option.
All methods I found in the internet are telling me to do a factory reset. But I have so many apps, wallets and banking apps, I would lose a lot. Its only possible to backup a bit (device is not rooted).
Has somebody any idea how to change the pattern?
PS:
There is also a strange behaviour: when I try to enter the "unlock and security" section and I put in a wrong pattern it shows (of course) "wrong pattern". When I enter my old pattern it just jumps back to the main menu. So there might some software glitch be responsible...
