Any experience with the powerskin? Any other alternatives? I really am looking for a case with extra battery and not just extra batteries or a different back cover. I like the idea of a case/battery combo.

I know some people who use it and it works for them but a lot of the reviews say it stops charging after a few months...
For the same price you can get the sedio 3800mah battery (60$ ) and then get the case for the extended battery also from sedio (20$ ) which might be a little bit more reliable..
Iirc, the phone won't deep sleep with the powerskin. You don't even need a battery that big. Nexus extended is far more than enough. You don't need one at all. I run 24 hours plus on stock with over 5 hours screen on, gtalk and text all day, emails, fb, weather, words with friends, stream music, and more.
With the nexus extended I'd need a new cover? If so, are there cases that accomdate for the new back cover?

You don't need a new cover. The battery might fit great, it might bulge. definitely didn't need a new case and my cover does bulge slightly

That battery is awesome. I've had it for two days now. I am a moderate to heavy phone user, and it is sitting at 43% after 15 hours of being unplugged. 40% of that is screen time.
I had the power skin, worked great for awhile but now the USB cord on the bottom to connect to the phone stopped working. I could probably have it serviced under warranty but....yeah don't want to bother it wasn't that good

I am on my 4th Powerskin for my SR in less than two months. They either die and stop working or the charging port gets worn down so it only makes contact when you hold it and put pressure on it. It is realistically about an extra 75% added to your battery, but your phone uses it to stay 100% charged so none of your battery saving features work. Would recommend a larger replacement battery over a case battery. I ended up buying extra andido batteries off amazon and plan on giving that a try over this.
I bought it at AT&T so they keep giving me replacements but will not give me a refund.
Do not recommend.
On my 2nd powerskin and it along with the 1st one stopped recharging......waste of time. Plus it makes it bulky.
I went through two of them. The last one overheated my phone and killed it :-( at&t gave me a new phone and I changed to an otter box.

Anyone who has used an extended battery for our Verizon GS3, what brands are good or what have you had good experiences with? I never messed with an extended battery before. And yes, I do know if they are big it will come with a new back cover for compatibility of the thickness.
I personally haven't used any extended batteries yet, but within the last couple hours a lot of the android news blogs have been posting about genuine samsung brand batteries at 3000mah. Looks like you get an extended case with it that doesn't seem 'that' big.
Still it's 60 bucks though, more than I paid for the phone, haha.
Edit: ugh.. since I'm a new member apparently I can't post links yet, just google: samsung galaxy s3 extended battery
You should see it in the news.
I picked up the Hyperion 4400 of eBay for like 25 and it's amazing. I get around 9 hours screen time the larger back feels much better in my hands. And there customer service is amazing. The back was as little loose so I emailed them and they sent me a brand new back... And battery!
By the way there is a couple really good comparison threads in the accessories section you may want to check out.
If I helped you in some way.... pass on the favor and help the next person!

I picked up the Qcell batteries and a charger for $36 a few months ago on Amazon, now it's just $25 for two batteries and charger..
I've been very pleased with them!
Wife's using the QCell 4200 mAh battery. She loves it. She uses it all day, and has yet to see it go below 60%. And she spends the entire work day in a lower signal area.
Hyperion works great. I got the 4200 with NFC. My cover cracked too and I emailed them and the same day they sent me a new one with no questions asked.

We've had the phones for going on three months now. So about 2.5 months. It's a great battery. Battery cover isn't so hot though. It's the same thickness around the entire cover. So the camera and flash are in these deep holes. Pictures without flash come out ok, but pictures with flash have sort of a pinhole effect where the picture is much brighter around the center, and too dark at the edges. I'm getting her a Seidio back that I've been told will fit. The Seidio back tapers toward the top, so that the camera and flash are not covered at all. I had the same type of back with my old Evo, and it worked perfectly.

I purchased the Anker 4400mAh Extended battery off of Amazon for $20 (it doesn't support NFC though). I have had the phone on for over two days at one point with medium to heavy usage, and it still hasn't reached below 40%. The only downside I didn't consider when purchasing an extended battery was that the cases I had previously bought to cover the phone would not fit of course, so I purchased two additional extended battery cases (which aren't all that great compared to the standard cases). Check out the reviews on that battery, most of them are excellent.
Right now I rock the Seidio Kickstand case and I know they make another case for extended batteries. I've been happy with this cases so I'm a try it out.
Once I get the Seidio back to use on the Qcell battery and verify that it does indeed fit, I am going to pick up the Seidio kickstand case for it. I have the kickstand case that fits the stock battery right now, and it is a great case!

Right on. Seidio does good work. I like the fact that the kick stand cases are soft on the side but hard on the outside. I read the extended battery version is made for the 3,500 mAh battery but my colleague bought the extended back (not the battery, just the back cover + extended case) and he said it fits his other extended batteries that exceeded 4,000 mAh.
I am considering an extended battery for the S4 because mine doesn't last me through the day with my current use. I know that the 5200 mAh from Hyperion is as thick as 2 batteries combined and the Zerolemon 7500 mAh is three batteries, but not all stacked up but rather in a shape of a pyramid. So the thickness would be the same?
I know they are both bulky, but I was wondering if the 5200 would be thinner?
Or if they would be add the same amount of thickness to the phone?
Is they are both the same thickness, the clear winner is the ZL.
Thanks!
I can't comment on the batteries for the S4, but I have one friend who has the Hyperion Battery and one that has the ZL Battery for the GS3, tthe ZL battery is quite a bit thicker, but it is a pretty sweet battery.
I'd say buy both and send back the one you aren't going to use.
This is something I would like to know 2. I just bought the 5200ma from hyperion dreading it because I thought it would be so uncomfortable to use, but it's actually not bad at all. The charge is great too.
If the ZL is only a bit thicker than the 5200ma then I will sell this one and buy the ZL. If anyone with the ZL can get the thickness of the phone and battery on. That would be awesome.
I'll post a pic with the dimensions of the phone + battery (5200ma) with a caliper tomorrow when I get to work

With ZL 7500mAh battery + casing on the phone dimensions are:
thickness is 18mm
width is 75mm
height is 146mm
I just used an onscreen ruler to take measurements but i'm pretty sure it's accurate.
Got the 5200mAh Hyperion coming with the extra nicer case tomorrow, I can try to post back with some better pics then the last reviewer. Otherwise he made a great review.

ZeroLemon 7500mah uses 2 batteries - one the size of OEM and one longer and wider than one that sits on top of the first one. It's an ingenious design.

Agreed, if you can fit it in your pocket.... :what: but it'll be nice to have for long trips on the motorcycle.

The 5200 Hyperion on the phone measures at 14.2mm thick. Height and height don't change
So the ZL is not much bigger than the 5200
Sent from my SGH-M919G
So I'm guessing from some of the replies that the 7500 isn't that much thicker than the 5200? maybe a 4-5mm difference? If someone could post pictures of a comparison between the two, that would be great. I'm sure not alot of people have both since people with 7500 have no reason to go down to 5200. But if someone with a 7500 and someone with a 5200 could post a picture of the thickness and then I might be to able to combine the two to make it easier to see a direct side by side comparison and I would post the picture of the side by side back to this forum for everyone to see. Thanks for the replies so far!
So how is both battery's quality! It like OEM

I'll post some pictures of my 5200 later on today. I don't have a 7200 but I'm definitely getting one after finding out its only 4mm thicker.
Battery life is really good on the 5200. Pretty much double stock. For me it's barely enough for what I need so the 7200 will be more than enough. Awesome.

I have and recommend both, but the charge in the Zerolemon battery seems to last a good three or four days.
if yas want a battery that is so hard to kill in a day i highly suggest getting the ZL! i love it...im going to paint the white casing soon though as it collects grime and looks dirty!! its amazing what comes off your clean hands. I am pulling 12-13hrs of onscreen time per full charge at the moment with moderate use and i play racing games etc for a few hours plus use chat apps with wifi on and general news reading apps..its just amazing...and its just getting better.
i cant switch to a lower size battery ever again.
even when the battery is down to 10percent youre safe to go out for the night and still know u wont kill the battery for atleast another 2hrs of onscreen time or more..its just crazy.
Edite: It also fits nicely in my work shirt top pocket buttoned up and i dont even notice the weight of it. Shame i dont have scales...hey now theres an idea for the next gen phones..they should put a scale under the screen for people to weigh things in grams haha...anyway ZL ALL THE WAY!!
20% battery left ...i think i will still easily get 3hrs of onscreen time...its just getting better and better the more times i run it dead than recharge. only recharged it from dead to full 3 times in 9 days since getting it.
I'm on my first full discharge on the Zero Lemon 7500mAh battery after having it plugged in for 12 hours as they suggest when you first get it, and so far I'm down to 46% after 1 day, 4 and a half hours, with 5 and a half hours screen time.
Just got my Hyperion 5200 battery with shiny black cover and also got the matching case from them that fits this combo. Now this thing finally feels like a phone. Factory is just too skinny for me.
Very much like this combo.

I have both Onite and Anker 5200 batteries (they're identical) and a ZeroLemon 7500 battery. In real life practice, the ZL batter + case isn't significantly thicker at all...but it's much heavier. I use either of the 5200 batts for daily use, the ZL 7500 for when I know I'm going to be without a charger for awhile (camping, exploring a new city where I use GPS and full brightness all the time), and the stock batt when size and weight are a priority (going out at night).

the protection from the ZL case is much better than the hyperion TPU for the extended case.
Personally, I'd stick to stock and ZL and just keep the 4500/5200 mah batteries out of the loop.
If you have a otterbox defender like myself and it's a pain to change batteries, you find yourself sticking to zero lemon exclusively.
Signal loss
Any loss of signal with the ZL?
I want t get the ZL 7500 one and use it for trips or days I won't be near a charger at all.
now that you had your battery for a while, what are your 2 cent for every day use?
So the other day I noticed that Hyperion has a 7500 mAh battery for the S4. Has anyone tried it? I currently have a ZeroLemon 7500 battery and was wondering how does it compare to ZeroLemon's battery?

I'm curious myself. I've seen in the reviews for the Hyperion version that the back plate causes some issues with the flash.
I don't know, but I was looking at the comments on amazon for the hyperion battery and someone noted there was a haze in pictures/video whenever the flash was used, due(argued) to the design of the back casing.
http://www.amazon.com/review/R98G9F...e=UTF8&ASIN=B00BCJZYE0&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=
On the other hand though, the zerolemon battery tends to modestly degrade the cell signal strength according to their reviews:
http://www.amazon.com/review/R2P0EL...e=UTF8&ASIN=B00CXZI3DQ&linkCode=&nodeID=&tag=
So pick your poison, flaws with flash, or flaws with signal strength. It looks like it depends on signal in your area and what you use your phone for.

how do yall with the 7500 mah batteries like the extra bulk it adds?
Its not that bad. It doesn't feel like the phone is made by playschool with the extra weight. The zerolemon blocks my signal sometimes to the point I want to break my phone. Thinking about returning it. I don't need it, just bought it since it was only $40.

I have the 5200 hyperion. I use my phone heavily all day long. Im currently sitting at work on my phone. My job consists of an hour of work so i spend the other 7 hours on my phone. I make it through the entire day without using power saving mode or any other conservative setting except for auto brightness. Im so glad I bought it and the added bulkiness isnt bad at all imo. Even if u are a very heavy user I doubt u will need the 7500.

I will say 7500 Is overkill but it no thicker than a 5200 mAh battery so the extra is nice to have.

I notice in videos that the 7500 covers the rear speaker, does this have a serious effect on speaker volume/quality? I know the ZL case has openings at the bottom to try to compensate.
Have owned both, would recommend Hyperion
I have owned both the zerolemon and (currently) the hyperion battery. The hyperion battery is the same size as the standard extended battery size of 5200mah that Zcell makes and this means that the phone will fit inside a decent phone case (there are many different cases made to fit those specific extended battery dimensions . The zerolemon battery is MUCH larger (nearly twice the size) and requires an awkward back cover/case combo that is not sturdy at all and on top of that, because of its size, it will not fit in any phone cases I know of other than a leather pouch type that aren't fitted to hug the phone. That is the biggest drawback for me. I broke the screen on my phone and had to get another one - the only phone I have broken in the 9 years since I got my first one. The cell radio interference is bothersome only occasionally with the zerolemon battery but it does happen and it is noticeable when it does (think like 75-80% connection speed on average). Also the zerolemon battery seemed to have lost some of its capacity, probably slightly less than a fifth after the first 6 months I had it. I would highly recommend the hyperion battery over the zerolemon. The benefit of being able to have a modestly strong and protective case is important even to me (I rarely drop my phone). The cell radio interference of the zerolemon is bearable and definitely worth the extended battery capacity it delivers. The hyperion battery, however, delivers just as much juice without the radio interference and it does it in a small enough package to fit inside any of the variety of different cases made to fit phones with batteries the dimensions of the hyperion battery/back plate.
Do you know which case like Otterbox with stand and clip for belt or Zerolemon that fit with Hyperion extended 7500mha battery?
In my opinion...neither the ZL or the Hyperion. The Anker 7800mah extended battery has completely blown me away. The battery life on it is amazing (obviously since that's its purpose) and the TPU case that they give you feels really nice. The one thing I am curious to try is if the ZL Rugged case will fit with this battery. But from someone who has owned the ZL battery on my S4....save the money and buy the Anker 7800mah ($31.99 on amazon).
How much " extended " do you guys need ? Currently ive been using Sun Global 3150mAh Extended Battery for Galaxy S4. The size is the same as OEM samsung batt, just a bit heavier. Reputation of the brand? I dont wanna say, depends on you. The battery can last a 12 Hrs marathon with almost 4 Hrs screen-on time, most of which is Gaming and Social apps.
Dont make it impossible by yourself, a smartphone that can last 2 days? Holy crap that is a godlike battery. To me as long as it can stands out a heavy usage during a day then its good enough, more than that, PowerBank will do..I always carry a small size 6600mAh powerbank with me everytime i go out (except work).
The Anker 7800mah is the best. I have the ZL as well. Hands down Anker no question

Well Saturday I finally gave up hoping my battery would actually last more than a day on my Z, bit the bullet and purchased off of Amazon a Powerbank Case for the phone.
I opted for the 4200MaH version and must say... WOW!
My battery life has doubled with the case, plus a little extra.
It arrived yesterday via courier and I tried it out at work today (my job often leaves me with no means to charge my ever dying battery)
So Pros...
Adds another batteries worth of life and a little extra.
Fits snugly.
Cheap at £17.99.
Has a stand on the rear for watching videos.
Doesn't interfere with any ports aside from the charger port.
Can charge the handset via the mains still in the case.
But... Cons...
It's bulky. I mean fat, adds probably 3 times the weight of the handset to the mix.
Can't use a dock with the case on.
Can't use the usb with the case on.
Doesn't come colour matched.
Gets hot, very hot.
OVERALL.
8/10 from me. It's a useful accessory for those who need extra power like me when out and about but adds a significant bulk to the handset.
Theres my opinion. Feel free to build your own.
