any KERNALS for HTC one S - HTC One S

Hello all,
Thanks for reading...
I need a kernal for my HTC ONE S for android 4.1.2. I would also like to know, does install a custom Kernal prevent screen tearing?
Thanks,

Search dev section for different kernels. Most of them run without any tearing...

Just for future reference, there is a search function on these forums. For example, I typed 'custom kernel stock rom' into it and a whole bunch of useful information appeared.
Having said that...
Is your phone s-off/rooted? You could flash a custom kernel provided that the build numbers are compatible. For example, Bricked kernel is stated to work with the majority of roms since it creates a boot.img from the one on the phone. Ultimately I would recommend extreme care and I would personally be flashing a stock-look custom rom if you still wanted the stock experience with the custom kernel.

[Q] CM11 OC Kernel development in progress???

Hi all. I know the CM11 ROM is relatively new and all, but according to what I could find and my knowledge of over clock kernals on the HTC ONE X (AT&T-Evita), there is only two recent ones....? I tried both, seems one is for Sense based ROM's only and the other is JB (4.3). I loved the ElementalX, but recently stepped up to this KitKat build (which isn't supported by ElementalX Kernal) and am spoiled now. Not wanting to back up in version ROM's to achieve CPU/GPU OC, but the reason I even began getting into customizing these Androids was for overclocking purposes to see the max potential of these!! Just wanting to know if there are any OC Kernels in progress. Please and thank you!
I think you're a bit confused. If you're looking in our Android Development section for 4.4 kernels you're looking in the wrong place, you'll only find Sense kernels (like Elemental) there. Have you searched our Original Android Development section? That's where you'll find aosp ROMs, and of course the kernels that are compatible with them. There are already 4.4 kernels available.

All I've found is basic custom kernels for options and different software configurations. I've done so much searching my hairs turning gray!! Lol. I do have Root, S-Off, SuperCID, and now TWRP SeLinux for these 4.4 ROMs all thanks to you guys!
Anyway you could possibly send a link to a specific thread where I can find these kernels you speak of? Preferably the most popular and stable one...
BTW...awesome site! 5.4 million members for a reason!
Just read your signature and seen the "Torched KK Kernel" Trying it now. Thank you!!

[Q] Htc rhyme custom kernal?

Hello,
my phone is htc rhyme. i want to enable usb otg and overclock my phone. by searching, i found that you need to modify kernal to do it. Xperia Arc have a custom kernal on this forum which enables usb otg. and xperia play have kernal that overclocks upto 1.6ghz. both of these phones have same chip i.e. Qualcomm MSM8255. i have android ics by ruu. htc is providing kernal. But i dont know how to modify kernal and add these features as you need ubantu to modify kernal. i have no experience with ubantu. Please i searched the whole forum and google and didnt found a single custom kernal for htc rhyme. i only found 2 custom roms, one of which links are dead. Please help.
Thanks,
sorry for bad english
anyone?

ROM's and kernel suggestions

Hey guys, so I got a brand new HTC M8 and Ive been reading all of the rooting guides and such and had a few questions. After doing a search I'm not really seeing many suggestions. So after I S-off, install custom recovery, do a backup of my stock rom, and then put a permanent root on my phone, what ROM do you guys recommend to be the best? Someone out there that has tried most of them? I love to tweak so thought Id get your guys opinions. Also, do most of you use keep the stock kernel or use a custom kernel, if so which kernel do you like? Thanks guys!!!!

I've tried Almost all. For my daily driver I use cleanrom 1.3 on stock kernel atm. I don't mess much with kernels but have just browsed thru a few threads and found some kernels that do not have "official" release. Look into them as they have gotten nice reviews. Sky fall is nice for stock as well. D.h. and his GPE ROM is pretty on point with that straight google experience. I have not tried sinless yet but that has good rants for being a GPE ROM. As far as aosp they are hit or miss for my device. Play with those for your own experience. I prefer the stock sense and great battery life so since I have been following @scrosler from my past few phones and know what to expect I am partial to his creations. Good luck. Don't forget to NANDROID And thank your devs .
