[Q] Would you buy a Nexus 4 if you have already a Galaxy note 2? - General Questions and Answers

Hello, I have a Samsung galaxy note 2, and I have the change to sell it at a good price and a good offer for a Nexus 4 as well, but I'm not sure, my main concerns are the screen size and the stylus, I don't use it a lot anyway, but, it's a plus, in the other hand, I've always loved stock android instead of touchwiz and the quality of the screen in the Nexus is it better or it's just me? I see it more colorful.
I would appreciate your comments regarding this, thank you!!

Keep the note 2..
Nexus 4 has no option for external memory (I mean the memory card) ...
Note has brilliant colors... large screen...hd ofcourse.. and if u like stock android look try cm on note 2... that aint difficult right...

Thanks for the comment, it really helps!

note
galaxy note for the win!more features!!

S3 or Note?

Hey Guys..
My cousin is in college. He needs a phone so that he can easily create his word documents so which phone is good for him..He Has 2 choices
S3 or Galaxy Note
I have one more question that does these phone have any pre-installed apps for word documents?
Thank u
I know that the S3 is faster but for his serious work i suggest the Note.
Big screen and easy typing makes it perfect.
Hmmm the preinstall program isnt much helpful but pm me and i will help with that

if he wants to create documents than Note 2 will be better{ releasing on Aug 29 } as he can use pen to note down instead of typing..
So gift him Note 2 dear
yes preinstalled apps are there and alternatively you can get free apps from market also for this purpose like this app:

Is there an S Note Popup?

We have a popup window available for S Memo by double-taping S Pen. But, is it possible to change this to an S Note popup like on the Note 2?
I doubt the existing S-Note application supports this float note sort of feature.. We would need the S-note apk from Samsung Galaxy Note II

Really want someone to port it. Don't want to waste money on a new device where, besides the better S Planner and S Note, I don't think it much better than its original.

IMO in new note there is hardware part which like a small push button inside SPen holder so when we remove the SPen that indicates that pen is removed from the phone. By this way only its possible for new note to recognize spen is removed and using this method and accelerometer it identifies spen is left behind, so im afraid that we the Note1 people will get this feature with jellybean.

S Memo Lite is different from S Note Popup. S Note Popup lets you move the box around the screen.

Galaxy 7.7 or Nexus 7?

Hello everyone,
I have been considering getting a Galaxy Tab 7.7 to replace my Nexus 7. I have found the Nexus screen to be not very good, with colors and black levels. I also would like to have mobile data (i know there is the hspa nexus) I can get an i815 for about 270-300. Do you think I should sell the nexus and buy one? Or if you can post a comparison by experience that would be great.
Thanks,
The Doolster

I also was thinking about which is better, and for my own opinion Tab 7.7 is better(cause I really like screen and materials) but there are no updates in firmware from sams, only 2 developers on this forum(( => even my old i9000 works faster on MIUI ROM:angel:
P.S sorry for my english
Judging by the performance tests, the Galaxy Tab is superior in tests nexus 7. I can provide screenshots quadrant test if needed.

Sure, if you could perform one normal speed and overclocked That would be great. But if you can't over clock it that's fine.

[APP][ROOT]Nexus Display Control (GN, N4 and N5)

With this new version of the Nexus Display Control it has been added support for:
* Galaxy Nexus
* Nexus 4 (existent support before this version)
* Nexus 5
All the gamma interfaces are subjective to the Kernel installed if it supports them. The only part of the app that does not require any modification besides root is the Nexus 4 RGB multipliers (stock Kernel offers it by default). It does not work with any other device besides the ones mentioned above.
This is the unlicensed version of: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nexus4displaycontrol
Its free for XDA users so please do not share it outside the scope of this forum - just direct users to this post.
If you desire you support me you can still purchase the Play Store version, which would surely make me happy.
If you hit a bug or something you don't like, please, before leaving 1 star ratings email me: [email protected]. I can't reply to Market reviews/comments so emailing me will be the best option.

does not support GALAXY NEXUS?
Running stock android 4.3 rooted on my Galaxy Nexus i9250.
To have a feel of stock ROM, i have not flashed any ROM , the
trickster app with SU isn't supporting these on this stock kernel.
Anyway that there is an app that would let me use this on my
galaxy nexus w/o flashing any other ROM for now.
Def need this file to tweak with RGB setting and let alone the
feel of xenon styling. This is only compatible with LG nexus 4?
Tried on Xperia SP but had "Parsing error"
Does it work on GT-I9300 S3 ?
I'm running Franco Kernel with Franco.kernle Updater so I'm able to change colors and gamma with this app, but what are the benefits of Nexus 4 Display Control app please ?
Thank's by advance
thanks ...

Should I buy TAB2?

I've been mostly HTC fanboy except disappointment with my HTC Sensation which is quite bad (I also have HTC Flyer and HTC Wildfire and I'm happy with both). Now I'm looking to buy some new 10 inch tablet, would you recommend P5110 as a good choice? Are they not faulty like my HTC sensation? Maybe I should look for some other models? Please let me know do you consider your TAB2 being a good choice, which model and what are the alternatives within similar price? I didn't ask those questions before buying HTC Sensation and I have device that have many faults that are caused by HTC not giving damn about making their product fully reliable I hope that is not the case with TAB2. Please share your opinions whether you satisfied with your purchase , would you recommend and any advice for new to Samsung android products guy. Thanks.
The Tab2 is a good choice but i think the Tab 3 is more potential and its price is good (199 Eur).
If you want good support from xda (more roms and other mods) you can choose tab 2 over tab 3 . coz 10 inch tab 3 has an intel processor so don't expect cynogenmod and other AOSP , so you should stuck in stock rom .
If you care performance and design over support then you can choose tab 3
But the better options in galaxy devices are note 10.1 (expensive) or note 8.0 . coz both have s -pen and and are goodplayers in the case of performance . So you don't miss anything out in these tablets

New nexus 7 is a cr*p .it has got multitouch issues and wifi issues and the buid quality is not that good (but on paper the specs are impressive and it has a good developers support(coz it's nexus!))

You can run many hd games really well with tab 2 GT-P5110 because i have it with cyanogenmod 10.2(android 4.3) and with custom kernel which supports gpu overclock but you don't need to so to play without lag. Just remeber that when you have bought(if you buy tab 2) you get custom jelly bean 4.1.2 c custom 4.3 or stock 4.1.2 rom because icecream sandwich is so bad, i had eve downloading problems on many sites with it but it is juat 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 icecream sandwich stock rom. I have had tab 2 for about 4 months and for example (with rom i am using) i can play nfs most wanted and asphault 8 without lag without overclock, and i am sure that too with 4.1.2. Reason why i don't recomend 4.2.2 jelly bean roms is because they haven't so good performance but its just me because i am gamer, but it has good features and so on.
There are probably better choices for the cost, but that said I've ran ICS stock, jellybean stock, cm 10, cm10.1 and cm10.2 on the 7 inch variant and have been very happy with it, my only gripe I've ever had was screen quality, - it's not HD. But that doesn't so me from preferring it over my kindle fire HD.
I am not sure it will be a contender when key lime pie comes out.

I suggest to choose another mark. Samsung will tell you that the device can receive the update but honestly it is a fake. I have a galaxy tab 2 10.1 and in Italy the update to jellybean was for January 2013. Now it is September and I didn't receive any updated. The same for my phone galaxy duos. **** Samsung

Hi. I think your choice also depends on whether you want the tab for games, for reading, watching series or movies, so forth...
I believe nexus 7 is a great choice if you care much about games or you are a developer, however my opinion is that Galaxy line of Tabs have a very good battery life, good developer support, and works fine for everyday use.
Regards!

I like my tab 2 7.0. Really happy with it, little lagging but I mainly use it as ebook reader and with nova prime on it lag is almost non existent. I don't noticed any lag in other games either. Again, lag only on the stock launcher touchwiz (even the s4 has) and some browsing.

Nexus 7 is good device and has very impressive specs on paper but it's not good for real life use. Actually nexus devices are meant for developers and high end users (especially nexus 7) . New nexus 7 is a very defective model on both hardware side and software side..and we can see their real build quality of asus from that device(very poor). If you're considering value for your money then flo (N7) is a no-go
If you want to see the poor build quality of N7 then head to this N7 thread : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380223
I can compare to Kindle Fire original, N7, Nook HD (Hummingbird CM 10.2), Nook HD+ ((Ovation CM 10.2). The stock, rooted, 2.7 is my favorite
GPS, front/rear camera, MicroSD Card, microphone, hardware keys and IR are important features for me. With MightyText and Magicjack installed, I have what is almost a phone. A 7 inch GPS is a wonderful thing and that is difficult without the External Storage. Downside is weak screen resolution and poor laggy screen with Touchwiz (use Nova Launcher).
If screen resolution is a major factor, the CM ROM Nooks are a great value.
