You got to uninstall the drivers of (Windows 7) for the usb ports from the "device Manager". and reinstall the drivers. Else try to connect to another system. You might be lucky. I had a similar problem and i tried this about 5 times as i had multiple usb ports and wasnt able to pinpoint which one was having the problem. Also uninstall any adb drivers or any other tools related to nexus. then try to reconnect and check it out. Even if this dosent work you might need to reinstall the ROM on your device after doing a complete factory reset/datawipe.

[Q] Unbricked successfully, ADB broken?

Howdy, folks. I recently bricked my tablet thanks to a bad install of CWM, but following Buster's guide I was able to successfully reflash stock firmware and the device runs fine when booted up now.
However, now ADB is not detecting my device. At all. I have tried running the kill-server and start-server commands to see if that would do the trick to no avail. I'm not even receiving an error saying "device not found." Rather, the device listing is left blank whenever I enter the devices command into the command prompt. I can still send commands via fastboot, but I'm concerned that there's something here that I'm missing, or that I have somehow managed to completely bork the motherboard. I have already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Asus usb drivers, in addition to the ADB drivers/software to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions to getting ADB to work for my tablet again? I have scoured the web, particularly these forums, for days looking for an answer, but haven't turned anything up yet. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, USB debugging is enabled; yes that was the first thing I checked.
Any other ideas?
If You use asus drivers it worth to try universal naked driver.

I just installed the naked drivers and tried again, but that didn't work either. Fastboot still works just fine, but I'm still at a complete loss as to how to get adb working again.
Thanks for your help thus far.

Yeah everything *looks* normal, and appears to be acting normally whenever I have the tablet plugged in. When my tablet is booted up and connected to my pc, I can transfer files to and from with no issue. Also when it's plugged in, there are two different entries under the device manager (one for adb and the other for the tablet itself). It's only when I have my tablet running in bootloader mode that things don't seem to want to work correctly.
I even ran netstat last night to see if there were any programs/services using the same port as adb, and even that turned up nothing. Is it possible that I somehow inadvertently altered the settings on my tablet's motherboard when I installed a bad version of CWM, per my original post?
It shouldn't be posible to brick anything on motherboard with just flash wrong recovery. It might be just "too smart" windows, that reject to use adb driver on same device that alredy used by mtp one. It wasn't a problem before?

It wasn't a problem until I flashed the wrong version of CWM, got stuck in a boot-loop and fixed the problem using fastboot to completely wipe my tablet and start over from scratch.
Edit: I suppose I could try a fresh install of Windows.
Try first remove all drivers and software for tablet. Then install universal naked driver.

Update: finally got adb to detect my device. Ended up removing everything Android-related from my desktop and re-downloaded/installed everything, including usb drivers. That did the trick.
Thanks again for the help.

Stuck on HTC Screen

Guys, i need some help.
I was able to install the Viper ROM without any problems. But when i did a factory reset, i'm now stuck on the HTC ONE screen. I can still get to the recovery without issue. But i can't reflash it because i don't have anything in my sdcard to flash.
I found somebody had this issue too:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...2518736&page=3
I'm trying to push the rom into my sd card but i can't get my computer to recognize my phone! It's having the HTC MCP device driver issue (code 10). Tried installing HTC sync and that didn't help. Tried uninstalling the driver, but it won't allow me to install driver after i uninstall. Tried to update the driver but Windows is saying driver is up to date and won't let me update. Without getting my phone to be recognized by my computer, i can't push anything into my phone.
I posted in the Viper forum and i was told that maybe i need to reflash the boot.img since I'm on S-On. Which i think is the case.
The thing is i can't flash boot.img because of this MTP issue. I tried different cables with different USB ports. Nothing's working. When i plug in with HTC One, it recognizes fine. But when i plug in with One S, it's back to that MTP issue.
Anybody has any suggestions?
Thanks!

Fixed it!! i used CWM sideload. Go into recovery, then go into sideload. Connect your usb, then open adb. type "adb devices" just to make sure you're connected.
Now, you want to flash the ROM again. Download the zip file and put it into the same folder as adb. then type this command: adb sideload <filename of update.zip> and you're good to go!
Let me know if you have any questions!!

[Q] Soft brick but no adb/fastboot connection

Hey
A couple of days ago i tried to install the latest CM12 nightly. After updating it my phone crashed everytime it booted up. I did a factory reset and tried to flash older versions but nothing seemed to work so i went into CWM recovery 6.0.4.5 and pretty much formatted everything.
I still have access to the bootloader and recovery but my Windows 8.1 PC doesn't recognize my phone ("Unknown usb device" "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)") I can't access my phone with adb or fastboot now. This looks like a driver problem but i tried a lot of different drivers on multiple PC's.
What can i do now?

It's a driver issue likely. Starting from scratch in the thread I linked addresses drivers. Likely ones he hasn't tried.
Though, a few other ideas are trying another cable, another USB on the computer. And last... Try another computer. ?

Try this: http://nirsoft.net/utils/usb_devices_view.html
It helped me a few times.
I uninstalled everything from there that was android-related. After plugging in my phone (in bootloader mode) my PC detects it as " Google Nexus BootLoader Interface" but "this device cannot start. (code 10) an invalid parameter was passed to a service or function"

ummm why hasnt everyone mentioned the very basics? USB Debbugin enabled?
you already flashed and reset phone...
because after any reset, that will default back to unchecked and u wont be able to adb or fastboot until that is checked
How do i enable usb debugging without any os?

USB debugging enabled is only needed when using Adb from within the Android OS. It's not needed for adb use in recovery mode, and never needed for fastboot.
??
good to know
Okay so i don't have to do this but i still have that driver problem. It is recognized as Android Bootloader Interface but i still get "this device cannot start. (code 10) an invalid parameter was passed to a service or function"

For me this sounds more like computer realted problem rather than device. If you can try all of those steps ( installign drivers, etc ) on another pc maybe this will solve your issue
Just tried it on a fresh installation of W7 but my device wasn't recognized and i couldn't install any drivers for it. How can it be a PC related problem if it doesn't work on so many different configurations?
If you run it on VirtualBox, see this answer (prepend http, I can't post links): superuser.com/a/887249/239087
To make it short, you need VirtualBox Extension Pack, and you need to configure the USB port to use USB 2.0 at least.

First uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your phone. Get them from Samsung site just to be safe. also try redownloading odin from a different website, could be a bad download. and 'm assuming you have a good USB cable and good USB Ports.
also what model phone are you using? that's in settings--about device--model number

Hi, I'm kinda having the same problem the original poster is having.
My problem is, my windows 7 computers do not see the phone at all, no matter which cable/USB port I use. No beep, no trying to install drivers, no nothing. I'm assuming that unless windows sees the device to begin with... I won't be able to use kies or Odin or heimdall or adb or anything right?

ok, have you checked device manager to see if the phone shows up there? and you're right if it isn't being detected than you can't use it basically lol. I know sucks.
honestly, download the drivers manually and install them. If you're not sure how to check device manager or find the drivers google is you're friend :good: hope you get it working!

Drago, thanks for trying to help me, can't tell you how much I appreciate it bro. Now when it comes to windows, I'm no noob, I actually own a small business going out to people's houses and fixing their computer/WiFi/printer problems. So device manager, yeah I tried "scanning for new hardware" tried and tried, checked and checked, restarted, tried safe mode, tried using different administrator account, nothing. That's when I got this gut sinking feeling, what if something is wrong with the USB port on the phone.
It's a SM-S820L, galaxy core prime. No sound when I plug it in, nothing shows up in 'my computer', no tuh noon sound, and I remember back when the phone was working like normal, I tried to get a picture or two off of it by plugging it in while it was on, I remember it showed up in windows no problem, even without the drivers from Samsung installed. Now nothing happens, even though it says download mode.
I still need your help Drago, don't forget about me

alright well you have one of 3 issues then honestly.
1. phone USB port like you said
2. the PC/laptop USB or..
3.cable or driver issues.
make sure your completly uninstall the phones drivers in device manager while the phone is plugged into the PC. next unplug the phone, restart, reinstall actuall samsung drivers, than try pluggin in again. use a known working USB port also.
sorry I can't give you an answer that's the best I can think of, let me know how it goes!

Have you tried uninstalling all the USB drivers for your device, restarting PC, re-installing drivers then restart PC and then try connecting your device.
When you updated, did you boot to stock recovery and factory reset and wipe cache partition then reboot? Sometimes failing to wipe during update can cause things to not work correctly.

And when you right click on the driver with the yellow triangle and select update driver, it does nothing?
Have you tried manually updating the driver and choosing the option to select from files on your PC instead of the auto-update feature? You can use this method to navigate to the folder that the Samsung drivers are installed in and select them from there, this should load the drivers.

Have you connected to Odin While in download mode and it isn't recognized? Or have you only connected to PC while the phone is running in system and the PC doesn't recognize it?
Try these troubleshooting steps:

Follow the steps but don't install the crappy driver easy program.

There are actually a lot of tricks that can be used to solve the "device descriptor failed/not recognized" error.
A Google search for:

You changed the USB settings as suggested and nothing changes?
You disabled anti-virus before installing the drivers?
You disabled fast startup? (If your PC has this feature)
How USB works on your note 4 versus how it works on your other devices may have slight differences, that would explain why your others connect and the note 4 doesn't.
Have you enabled USB debugging developer options?
99% of the time this is a PC hardware/driver issue, not an issue with the android device in question.
