Hi all
My Sensation has s-off, h-boot 1.29
Flashed JB 4.3 asop rom last night, booted, and all was well.
I turned off wifi and left phone without charging over night.
The battery had drained a lot overnight (down to about 30%) so i checked battery stats and saw wifi was on 100% of the time...even though I had switched it off...and the phone was very warm.
I rebooted and now it wont start. No Leds lighting. Swapped my battery and still wont boot.
Connected to PC and i see QHSUSB_DLOAD
Left charging with and without battery for a few hours but still the same.
Most guides appear to show this happens when trying to s-on or flashing but my phone was working until i restarted.
any ideas?

if your pc detects it as QHSUSB_DLOAD then try the unbricking project and see if it works
by the way can you access to the bootloader?

Does the unbrick project support hboot 1.29?

15 APRIL 2012: ALL - PLEASE NOW REFER TO THIS THREAD HERE
Just found a new Clockwork-5.0.1.0 for our beloved Sensation(al) device
It works fine and didn't find any bug yet
The charging issue some of users had seems to be solved
In order for this to work, the HTC Sensation needs to be S-OFF.
How to Flash:
Flash via boatloader or push adb or fastboot flash recovery recovery.img or using Rom Manager
Download:
01/09/2011: 5.0.1.0:HERE
Update 05/09/2011: 5.0.2.0: HERE
If you want to flash via Bootloader just put the following file PG58IMG.zip in your SD card : HERE
changelog: fix the fact that some users were loosing root access with 5.0.1.0
already a heavy thread going for this, but it SHOULD be in the dev thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1242522
EDIT* good notes too, there are too many plp who dont know how to do this with either method
Alternative method is fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

check out the thread i posted, lots of testing notes
the most significant is the backups/restores are WAYYYY quicker
...and its blue!
Charging issue is still there. Doesn't charge when switched off or battery goes empty. Not Recommended for users who go out of battery very often..
To check if your phone is charging, turn off ur phone, remove and reinsert your battery(to make sure ur phone is fully switched off), then open adb and type::
adb shell cat /sys/devices/platform/htc_battery/power_supply/battery/status
if it returns charging, it's fine for u, otherwise Think again..
I got discharging, so reverted back to 4.0.1.4(Modded for charging when switched off)..
Here's link for 4.0.1.4 for those who want to revert back http://goo.gl/4VlGV
it actually does charge when turned off, but not when in hboot/fastboot/recovery
i completely drained my battery, and it charged, but i had to let it fill for a min or so before i could turn it back on with enough juice to get back into OS
not recommended if kill your battery often
EDIT* the link i poseted has a bit of testing already done, it was just put in the general thread, not the dev one
Wouldn't the easiest way to flash it would be through ROM Manager? That's what I did
sent from Christ All Mighty II
you'd be surprised how many people prefer the manual way (im one of them )
im not a fan or rom manager, you dont really *learn* when you use it, and doesnt work all the time

Did u try adb command when phone was turned off?
It gives me "Discharging', when just turned off and connected to PC.
I was f****d when i had just s-offed my Sensation, and went out of battery. So I'm too skeptical about all this
yup, discharging everytime now, looks like it only worked after that initial restart after a battery pull...
oh well, im still keeping it, the backup/restore is much quicker, and i use it a lot
Discharging for me with adb commandBut LED is red :/

No bro it charging normally even if your phone is turned off. I tried it already cause i have a spare full charged battery. The problem is when you are on recovery aka no charge. Anyway i still find silly to try flash a rom when you are on low battery at all.

Plug it in let it charge a bit. If the orange light blinks four times and turns off, then you need to do a battery swap.
If it charges then let it charge boot unto recovery and restore your backup. I hope you made a backup.
Which Rom were you flashing?

Mate, you're really not helping yourself here. Can you please give a step-by-step of what you were trying to do and a bit more information as to what happened when it didn't go to plan?
e.g. I was trying to flash a new ROM. The ROM update completed successfully but upon rebooting it wouldn't turn on.
The above example gives a bit more insight as to the situation

Pop the battery out for about 10 minutes then put it back in and try charging the battery. Also try charging from a different power source like an AC adapter or via your computers USB port. If the battery light doesn't come on then your battery is most likely dead and you may need to find a replacement.

you said you didnt get any signal. dude you prolly didnt flashed the correct radios. some roms tells you witch radio you need before flashing the rom. not all the roms have the correct radios due of a lot of sensation worldwide. had you tried to go into fastboot at all by holding power and vol down at the same time.

Yes battery swap as I mentioned.
On a side note
Can anyone tell me why that is the only solution to the problem when the phone dies down like this
Thisy wife let's her phone die alllll the time and I constantly have to swap mine and her battery.
I am stuck here with a sensation using hboot 1.27.0000 and wasted the last few days looking for a solution s-off and unlock bootlaoder so i can get some "normal" ROM onto it. Currently the stock rom is on it which keeps crashing every few hours, i was hoping that a custom rom might help me, there is no warranty left anyway.
any help is appreciated

You have two options to choose from.
1.) Unlock bootloader through htcdev website. It doesn't give you full access your phone although you can still flash custom roms. See HERE for more information
2.) Gain full S-OFF and enjoy the freedom. See HERE how to do it.

You must be rooted to go for s-off.But u may find wire trick method difficult so u can still flash a custom rom with s-on and boot loader unlock .Follow this guide its easy and simple .

Just follow the s-off guide by Ganeshp I linked step by step as it is written there and you will be fine. The tool will temporary root your phone then will remove it when finished. When all is done, you can use the one-click-root-tool from the same guide to permanently root your device. Good luck!

Dont know it works but try it... !!
How to make a "jump start" the HTC phone.
1. Take out the phone cover.
2. Take out the battery, optionally Sim Card and Flash Card.
3. Plug your wall charger from the wall into the phone WITHOUT the battery in and cover.
4. Pop the battery back in and wait until the indicator light is orange.
5. Wait for about 5-10 minutes until your battery charged at least 2-3%
6. Pop the battery back in and close the cover. Optionally Sim Card and Flash Card.
7. Try to turn it on. This should start the phone.
8. So, once you started your phone. Plug your wall charger back into the phone.
9. Wait for until your battery became fully charged.
Nope, not working for me looks like i have really bricked the damn thing

If battery was low while playing game then
Check turning on with another battery , or at least try to enter in bootloader
Or try above solution for waking it up from deep sleep
If all fails then I'm sure your phones processor died
Try unbricking project just in case

actually if the pc sees it as QHSUSB_DLOAD unbricking project could be working!
Open your hard back cover, charge it. Leave it about 2 hours in a cool room. Then try to boot to your bootloader, see if anything is wrong at there.

Where can i down load that "appropriate package"?
Hi guys, I was letting my phone charge, and when I checked it a few hours later, it wouldn't turn on, the orange light is NOT blinking/on, and I haven't rooted the phone or installed any custom firmwares. I got the phone "New" on ebay, and I've been using it for like 2 months now. I searched around the web for a solution, and some people recommended removing the battery, putting the battery in and holding VOL DOWN and POWER at the same time, and for some reason, I got it into the white screen with colored words on it. I did a Factory reset, and it got me back to the HTC home screen but it went back to a bootloop and now wont turn on anymore (strange)
Anyways, now i can't even go back into the recovery mode. I haven't rooted/modded this phone since I got it, so it's kind of weird to see this happen. I'm assuming the previous owner might have messed around with it and screwed it up? What should I do at this point?
is it the phone still can turn on and go to bootloader..?
if so..maybe you can try flashing and replace it with a new RUU stock..
firstly you must know what cid and software version of your phone..to do that..you can follow this guide
if your phone still don't want turn on...you can try replace it with different battery..
hope this help..

Still nothing The orange LED doesn't come on/flash anything. The phone can't turn on and it's just dead now.
