lately i was flashing with open austia firmware(pda-p6200xxmc3,csc-p6200oxamc3). its running ok and no problem at all. i can do a logcat using terminal emulator and catlog app. after that i was flashing again with this nice rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410800. this why i change from malaysia firmware. there is no problem and running like they said. but now i cant to do a logcat. when i use terminal emulator, at the last line it say -waiting for decive-.
same as catlog apps, after open the apps it should run a long log. but it just do nothing. why this happen.
i should ask in that thread. but i didnt reach the limit yet.

i have a month old galaxy s i9003 sl running the latest froyo build, i rooted it using one click root, for the past few days my phone would sometimes just freeze up when i try to do something, i have installed loads of apps 144 to be precise, most are on the sd card, is that a problem? one thing i have observed is when i switch on wi-fi and the immediately try accessing an app the phone freezes up, although this isnt the only time that happens.
please advice
Whenever you post anything related to ROM, it is a good practice to mention which version of android you are using including firmware PDA version. As of now many ppl are facing freezing issues on I9003, due to initial unfinished FW versions, but some ppl did not face these problem eventhough the same version of ROM they are using. It could be a single apk file which may be incompatible and responsible for freezing your phone. Try to take logcat using ADB, if the freezing is frequent or if the pattern is known or try upgrading the FW to a different region like XXKB3 (though I dont know where you are from). Some ppl have reported SOD on XXKB3 also but some did not face it, so try your luck.
Well i have the xxkb3 build on my phone, can you please elaborate about how do i go about using the logcat?
thanks
For logcat use adb
open CMD (command prompt) Hope you know that. change directory to the adb tools folder
eg: cd E:/ and_sdk/ adb tools
Now type adb shell
You will see this "$"
type su, the sign will change to "#" after providing root permission from Phone.
now type logcat, wait for some time observe the activities that are flashing on cmd screen, these are the processes running in the background of phone firmware. Now perform the task or sequence of activities that freezes the phone and check the logcat. This will tell you exactly which process is causing problem.

Hello,
with several roms every week, suddenly appears this image.
After showing and select "force close" comes again and again and again. Then I reboot the device and the same problem. I have to reinstall again the rom or install a new one, but as i mention before, it happens every week.
I am going to appreciate if someone told me why happens.
Thanks a lot in advance.

1. are you using cm7 or any cm7 based roms? if you are, do not use the 2g/3g toggle in the cm power widget. that is a known issue.
2. have you ran a fix permissions? this is needed every once in a while especially if you are flashing different roms. theres a few ways to do this. you can run fix permissions in whatever recovery you are using on your nexus s, except stock recovery. or you can do it via terminal emulator on you phone. open the terminal emulator, type su(press enter) fix_permissions(press enter)
Fix permissions and clear cache!!!!!!

Thanks a lot!
Hey folks
Small problem here:
Every time I attempt to fix permissions using ROM manager I get an error message:
'an error occurred while trying to run privileged commands'
When I type 'su' into terminal, superuser wants to grant root access so I guess that I'm rooted properly.
It's not a huge deal but it is kinda annoying
Running stock ICS on gt19020 UK 3G version.
Thanks for your time in reading this,
All the best

Fix permissions in recovery!
Hey guys,
I have been trying to download the latest version of Tweaked for a day now, and every time it gets within a minute or two of finishing the download, I get an "Unknown Network Error" and the download fails.
This is getting pretty frustrating. Can somebody host a mirror somewhere?
Thanks
Are you trying to download from Tweaktools or the thread link?

Thread
I have been clicking the thread links. I am unfamiliar with "Tweaktools".
Thanks for the quick reply!
Are you running Tweaked 2.0 or 2.1 right now? You can go to Terminal Emulator and do this:
1. Type su
2. Enter
3. Type tweaktools
4. Enter
5. If it prompts you to update here, type y and press enter (may reboot as it installs some fancy new stuff)
6. If it reboots just go back to step one. It won't happen again.
7. Once you're in the main menu press the related button for "update" (its a number or letter that I can't remember) and run through it (you should know by now after following this). Done.

Version
Hey again,
I've been unable to check what version of Tweaked I am on. My system info doesn't offer that info, and the TSM tools link doesn't seem to either.
I installed it quite a while ago, it is a relatively buggy version that tends to just restart while typing out texts. I am still unsure which though.
Should I still go through with that Terminal install?
Fixed
Hey guys,
I connected to a different network, and it sucked the files down no problem.
Now happily on 2.2!
PS
Can anybody tell me if there is a way to not make me log in and do a captcha evertime I want to reply...?

Hello,
I am wondering if you could help me with random reboots of my phone. I tried to get the last ksmsg but i got this:
HTML:
/system/bin/sh: cat: /proc/last_kmsg: No such file or directory
What can I do to find the message?
Currently in the proces of taking a logcat, but I am not sure my phone will crash.
Apart from the crash I really love this ROM
Hello again.
It crashed again, I had logging on with catlog and I got the last_kmsg. You can find the links to the logs here:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/1kefqyw5lnwd8td/lastkmsg.txt
and
https://www.dropbox.com/s/2qd2d00zrvbr4s3/logs_lastminute.txt
Am I doing this right? Maybe pastebin would be better?
I can't post in the thread in Android Development because of my post count and that is why I post here.
I hope that frankinstine will see this. Catlog ran for 2 days, log ended up 19MB big
Thank you for your time.
