Hey guys, i mainly use the tablet for studying (writing down notes and lectures) i use the eZpdf.app It works nice i like it.
My question:
Is there a way to improve the S pen quality, smoothnes ? Let's say with some Rom for example? or maybe another pen which is much more preciser?
I have the n8010 still with the 4.1.2 version thou im not sure if 4.4.2 will improve the pen quality...

You can actually improve the S-Pen sensitivity by modifying the S Pen itself. If you pop off the button on the pen, underneath will be a screw. By turning these screws, you can adjust how sensitive the S Pen is. Here's a video demonstrating how to do this:

Is it in all types of use or only specific actions? Also be aware that the pen functionality is sensitive to magnetic fields so if you have a case on the tablet test to see if things improve without the case even if you doubt the presence of magnets inside it.
Yes, there is.

I tried it but still when using s-note is still the same I even tried the note 4 pen but still the same any other solution?
Ah. S Note. There's nothing you can do about that particular snail in terms of adjusting the pen, I'm afraid.
You can try wiping data and cache for S Note (Which will wipe your notes, back them up), or disabling the sync for it.
Alternatively, ditch S Note and try Lecture Notes or Papyrus.
Why did you try the Note 4 pen? The sensitivity for it lies in the sensors on the phone, not in the magnet encapsuled in the plastic pen....

Thanks for the advice papyrus is very good.
Is there anything coming to fix the snote or it's better to sell the note pro and get something else?

If you're not experiencing the issue anywhere outside S Note, then it's just the app. (I've seen a few more threads about it here.) I don't think it's actually optimized for 12.2".
The device isn't the problem, the app is. I've also heard people complain about sluggish S Note on the Note 3, Note 4 and Note 10.1"
Maybe someone else knows a fix. I just simply not use S Note.
Hi, does the Note 5 able to use force touch? Because it has the Spen and I'm thinking it should. Note 5 can sense the pressure of the Spen so it should be able? I dont know. Anyone more knowledgeable can tell us?

The Note has a 2 way communication in a sense... screen "talks" to the S-pen and S-Pen "talks" to the screen... "talks" meaning sends little pulses of sorta back and forth.
The S-pen is what controls "pressure" not the screen, technically. You can hover the S-Pen above the screen and press in the tip with your finger and the Note will think you have the S-pen on the screen. With your finger on the tip of the S-pen, if you move closer to the screen the thickness/darkness of the line will increase.. making the screen think you are applying pressing down on it... this is really only reducing the "talk" time which mimics pressure.
So the while the type of screen on the Note is slightly different than most, its not actually "detecting" the S-Pen touch... and the screen is not detecting the "pressure" of the S-pen, just how close it is to the lower layer of the screen.
(this is kinda a crappy way to explain it, but I'm fighting off a 3 day cold/flu and dope up on DayQuil)
If you are hoping for or wishing for the "3D touch" (which apple probably put a patient on) then It's not going to happen.
There is a SDK for the S-pen provided by Samsung; so if someone wanted to they could make apps, that had "3D Touch" effects...
but it would be more so detecting the distance the S-pen is...
when X (S-pen) == Y (distance from screen) then display contact details, when Y <= Z callcontact
link pls
Please send me that file for 3d touch for note 4
Hey guys,
Im not sure if anyone else has this issue or not, but on my Canadian Note 10+, The S-Pen sensitivity is wayyyy high. Like when i take out the pen, and take it near the screen i dont even touch the screen yet and its already registering touches as if i am touching the S pen on the screen ....
I tried the "touching all 4 corners to auto-calibrate" ... no go .... still same issue.
Anyone know how to fix this??

Did your phone have a software update and did you install it?
Yes after I purchased the phone and turned it on there was a software update available which I DID install
I have the same issue on the Note 10+. I had the problem on the Note 9 too but never found a solution.
So we get the screen - protector pre-installed, and this is my 1st ever fingerprint ( under the skin ) phone
I cannot make it work perfectly as well
it takes for it to recognize it for registration
I even followed the tip where I make 2 fingerprints of the same thumb
I look at videos where ppl are touching it gently
I have to press hard if it works but most times, it doesnt recognize and I have to sorta try few angles beofe I do this
Is it because of screen protector?
Any help, tips please and if anyone can show me how their works coz I swear I am having issues
this is my 3rd sammy with the screen scanner...they work so so with the factory screen protector (this one has been the best out of s10 plus, note 10 plus) but they work way better if you remove it.
of course then your screen is vulnerable but that's the choice pretty much.
im using my note 9 today and much prefer the scanner on the back still lol
Finger print is a hit or miss for me and I don't have a screen protector ??*

It works very well for me. Not ideal but really well with the built-in screen protector.
There is one hack to make biometrics work faster - go to Optimise Battery Usage permissions and untick the com.samsung.android.biometrics entry. This will allow biometrics service to always work and will improve biometrics response time greatly.
It works, like on n10 before it. Not as good and fast as one on one plus 8 pro which I had before but it works. Best advice is to buy gearfit 2 pro or some from active watches and make it as a trusted device

Didn't feel a difference from this.
UK, Sim free handset, already tried the register the same finger twice and wasn't helping. Now got one finger four times but still the same issue. It fails so often that sometimes it goes over the 5 allowable attempts, or is just very slow, and also needs a harder press that my previous Notes.
It still has factory screen protector on.
Any suggestions?
And how do you find the "Optimise Battery Usage permissions and untick the com.samsung.android.biometrics"
Thanks.
Try to learn to use face unlock (I'm on same path jow)...fp on S and N samsung devices is terrable! I had one plus 8 pro one month and after optical reader, this ultrasonic is disaster [emoji849]

Working great on S20U and N20U here
Register same fingerprint 2-3 times
Disable Battery optimisation for Biometrics
Disable Unlock Animation
Enable Increase Touch Sensitivity
Both phones unlock with FP with hardly even a touch
Mby if you work in office and have perfect hands (fingers). For people that works at a construction yard this is a no go (have s20 and n20 ultra 5g right now with me)!

Well yea, if your fingerprints are a mess then a fingerprint reader isn't going to read them very well, kinda obvious?
